Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 Rescuing the Girl in Black Again

Inside a decent house, Qian Xunji was meticulously preparing breakfast.

Although the inner city of the Killing Capital always provided food, much better than the outer city, Qian Xunji was no longer used to it.

So, every few days, he would treat himself to something different.

Knowing he would be staying in the Killing Capital for some time, he had stockpiled a lot of meat and rice in his storage space, along with essential cooking utensils and seasonings.

Taking out the ingredients from his storage space, he planned to make a simple egg fried rice for breakfast.

First, he diced the cucumber into evenly sized pieces, then chopped the washed scallions, and finally beat four eggs into an egg mixture and prepared the rice.

He put some oil in a pan, and after the Ice Flame heated the pan, he adjusted the heat to medium and poured in the rice soaked in the egg mixture.

  Sizzle!

He immediately used chopsticks to stir-fry the rice until each grain was separate.

Next, add the diced cucumber to the pot and stir-fry evenly. When the cucumber softens, add an appropriate amount of salt and pepper.

Then sprinkle on the prepared chopped green onions and stir-fry a few more times, and the aroma is immediately irresistible.

Looking at the golden-yellow and fragrant fried rice, Qian Xunji picked up a spoon, scooped up a large spoonful, and put it in his mouth. After chewing a few times, a satisfied smile appeared on Qian Xunji's face.

"Mmm, the familiar taste, it's so fragrant." Qian Xunji picked up the chopsticks he was familiar with from his previous life and wolfed down the fragrant fried rice.

After finishing the rice, Qian Xunji opened the lid of the soup pot, which was slightly ajar, and took a small spoon to drink the soup. The radish and ginseng were stewed thoroughly and cut into small pieces of about three centimeters. They were crystal clear, like crystal. Scooping them into the spoon, one bite was enough to melt in your mouth. The hot soup had a refreshing feel, which complemented the slight oiliness of the soul pork meatballs. A bite of radish and a bite of meatball, you could taste a hint of white pepper in the soup. Simple, warm, and delicious.

Just then, the sounds of fighting erupted outside the room, a fierce and chaotic battle. Qian Xunji released his spiritual power to investigate and discovered it was the girl named Manyao, whom he had saved before.

Soon after, the fighting subsided, fading into silence.

Qian Xunji slowly opened the door, his gaze fixed on the girl in black, remaining silent for a long while before approaching her. The girl in black was unconscious, her body covered in blood, clearly having just endured a fierce battle. Had she not encountered Qian Xunji, she would soon have died peacefully on this tranquil land of the Killing City. Looking at the girl's

mangled figure, Qian Xunji knelt and gently pulled her into his arms. The girl's arms clung tightly to Qian Xunji's neck, her fair and delicate skin exposed. Qian Xunji glanced at her inadvertently, silently reciting: "Do not look at what is improper, do not look at what is improper."

Inside the room, the girl in black lay calmly on Qian Xunji's bed, though her furrowed brows betrayed her unwell condition.

Qian Xunji carefully cleaned the girl's wounds, using several large buckets of water to thoroughly clean them. Her clothes were tattered, and her shapely, white thighs stirred a desire within Qian Xunji. Shaking his head, he took out his own clothes to cover her exposed skin. He

then skillfully applied the wound medicine specially supplied by the Spirit Hall and finally wrapped the wounds tightly with layers of clean white bandages. The entire process took less than half an hour. It seemed that during his two years in the City of Slaughter, he had long since become accustomed to such things.

Afterward, the girl in black remained unconscious for three days and three nights, during which time she suffered from a persistent high fever. Fortunately, Qian Xunji possessed some medical knowledge from his previous life and cared for her tirelessly, helping her reduce her fever.

"I've never taken care of anyone like this before," Qian Xunji said with a smile.

The girl in black was incredibly cute. At this moment, she seemed to have shed her usual cold exterior, like a kitten silently licking her wounds, her expression growing even more tender, reminding Qian Xunji of his younger sister from his past life.

With a soft 'whimper,' the girl in black slowly awoke, opening her bright eyes and staring blankly at Qian Xunji.

"Miss, you're awake!" Qian Xunji exclaimed upon seeing the girl awake.

The girl in black stared blankly at the young man before her. She recognized him; he had saved her when she was being chased. What impressed her most about him wasn't the rescue, but Qian Xunji's ethereal, otherworldly handsome face.

Born into a city of slaughter, experiencing this filthy world, she had never encountered anyone as unique as Qian Xunji, possessing not only such striking good looks but also formidable strength.

While she was unconscious, she had thought she would die a humiliating death in that corner, but she felt this man hold her in his arms and save her. He then cared for her tenderly for three days and three nights, clearly feeling himself pulled back from the brink of death by Qian Xunji.

"Yes, I'm awake. Thank you for saving me," the girl in black said in a cool voice.

Suddenly, as if noticing something, the girl in black sat up, and Qian Xunji's loose robes slowly slid down her delicate, fair skin. The girl in black blushed instantly, her face flushed with embarrassment. She quickly picked up Qian Xunji's clothes with her delicate white arms and draped them over herself.

"My clothes," the girl said nervously and shyly.

Qian Xunji turned around as his clothes slipped from the girl's body, but he could still vaguely see a glimpse of fair skin. Hearing the girl's shy and nervous voice, Qian Xunji said, "Miss, your clothes are worn out, and I don't have any women's clothes with me, so I can only give you mine for now. Do you have any clothes in your storage space?"

The girl quickly opened her storage space, took out a set of her own clothes, and changed.

"Alright, you can turn around now," the girl said.

Qian Xunji turned around and saw a flowing, elegant long dress with a white lining collar, which made her delicate, fair skin appear even more pristine, instantly endearing her to the eye. The brow trim on her forehead added a touch of charm, perfectly complementing her pretty face. Her large eyes and petite features below her cheeks made her look delicate and pure.

Qian Xunji asked, "Miss, are you feeling better?"

The girl replied sweetly, "Yes, I'm much better. Thank you for taking care of me."

"By the way, let me introduce myself. My name is Manyao, and I've lived in the City of Slaughter since I was a child. What's yours?"

"My name is Qin Jian, and I'm here in the City of Slaughter for training," Qian Xunji said.

"You're different from most people I've met. Others come to the City of Slaughter to escape enemies or because they can't stand the outside world, but you've come here for training." Manyao's big eyes were filled with confusion, as if she were puzzled.

"Do you want to leave?" Qian Xunji asked.

"Of course I do. I wanted to leave before, but I was discovered. Can you leave?" Manyao asked.

"If I want to, I can definitely leave," Qian Xunji said confidently.

"The only way for us to leave is to achieve a hundred victories, meet the King of Slaughter, and have him open the Hell Road. I definitely can't do it alone. If the two of us go together, our chances of winning will be much greater. Let's go together, Qin Jian," Manyao said.

"Okay, no problem. You recover here first. I need to continue my challenge in the Hell Slaughter Arena." Qian Xunji said, and before Manyao could react, he left the room.

"What a strange person," Manyao murmured softly, then blushed,

   as if remembering something.
