Chapter 30 - Chapter 27: For You're Eyes Only

Zephyr, Poppy, Mantra, and Claire each shook hands with the conductor in the cockpit, whilst the terrorists were tied within layers of duct tape like a burrito.

To hide this entire scene, Mantra made an entire wall of ice blocking the front of the cockpit door.

"Thank you everyone" said the conductor "you all managed to keep all the passengers safe, it did cause a commotion, but I think it'll only be gossip for now. Not sure about the dead bodies on the butt of the train though- I'll have to ask sir Charlotte on that one; for him to decide of course"

"The pleasure's all ours cap'n" Said Poppy

The conductor stammered "J- just call me sir"

"Sir!"

The conductor crosses his arms while closing his eyes tight "Though, I'm not really sure what to do with these guys, I can only close the cockpit for so long, and their boss was really slick. He must've been a legit engineer in the past, since he was basically controlling the train just fine-

I mean right before he knocked me out of course" He glances at the terrorist. "Well, in this case- let's just wait until the passengers have finally dropped off." He now glances at Mantra "Also, I didn't know you were an Eye (of Charlotte) Ms. Mantra."

Mantra swayed her hand against her face "Oh Dios mio no, I'm not. I just happen to run into them apprehending the impersonators. And someone has to catch this idiot's butt" She nudged Zephyr. But then she pulled down his collar aggressively and whispered to his ear "And don't you dare think we're sweet yet." She lets go

Walking away, she melts down the ice door, looking around "Hmm… most of the passengers have already dropped off. Almost forgot! I was supposed to be in a meeting in this city's business center- guess I'll take my leave. Buh-bye!"

Poppy and Claire waved back, while Zephyr was fixing his collar.

Zephyr and Poppy look through the cockpit window, followed by Zephyr saying "So this is Cavéz Avinolia huh? Was this city always this empty?"

Claire muttered "No… I don't think so"

Poppy shrugs "Ah, who cares? It's my first time comin' in here too. Whaddya say we head out on a short trip? C'mon we're already fitted out and everything"

"No can do Pops, gotta hand these losers to charlotte" He glances at Claire "Hey kid, how're you feelin'?"

"I'm actually beat, my body still hurts- but lying down kinda makes it worse"

Poppy rests her hands on her hips "Wait, lemme guess how they caught you: you went to the bathroom?"

"Nah, I got hungry. I haven't eaten lunch yet, so I asked one of the staff for some muffins they were givin' out. But it wasn't a staff member, it was an impostor."

"Ooooooooooohhhh"

"Ooooooooooohhhh"

"Ooooooooooohhhh"

Zephyr pouted

Poppy nodded

The conductor crossed his arms.

Poppy darts her eyes back to Claire. "Well then, let's look for some food stalls nearby."

Both girls hopped off the train, and the strobe lights above each carriage door flickered, their text switching from "[CYDONIA]" to "[UNDER MAINTENANCE]".

The two of them were left alone in the terminal. Sunlight spilled hard and unfiltered across the food stalls, tarp roofs sagging overhead like the only thing still trying. A handful of people picked at meals under them, scattered so thin across the empty tables that the only thing that fills the air is the static hums of the electric fans that each stall uses..

Claire keeps looking around with her eyes dropped, and lips pursed. All the while Poppy was smiling, looking around the stall signs "So Claire, what'cha in the mood for?"

"I think let's head to the cafe near the exit"

As they did so, they were greeted by a cold breeze from the air conditioner, the wireless speaker playing bossa nova, echoing throughout the empty cafe. Poppy leans onto the counter as she orders "I'll have caramel macchiato, a ham and cheese croissant and- how about you Claire?"

Claire looking from the side, darts her head back to Poppy stuttered "Oh um- I'll just have chocolate milk and a blueberry muffin"

While the barista prepares their order, Poppy goes on to find a spot. Claire stayed asking the barista "Hey, has this place always been this empty?"

The man answered "I was wondering too kid, I texted my friends from different jobs, all of them asking the same question too"

"It's not a holiday today isn't it?"

The barista checked his phone as he shrugged "Nope, no holidays. Take a seat little girl, your friend is waiting for you"

As she does so, Poppy asks her a question "So, got any ideas how you got your ice powers?"

Claire tilts her head "I… don't really know- my sister recently got her fire powers awoken when our headmistress was about to kill me. Then my sister Clarice bursts into flames knocking the headmistress back."

Poppy grimaced "Jeez, your life seems to be a lot more intense than mine when I was your age. Also-" she lightly taps the table and points her finger at Claire "What you said earlier; that's how Arcanas and Gods awaken their powers through extreme mental stress, but for your case though, I've seen arcanas freeze, so I'm pretty sure you and your sister's are Arcanas." She stops for a moment to think as she leans back on her chair

"Though, I have to take you to my lab, to find out whether you're a God or an Arcana; do you still remember what those things are right?"

Claire nodded yes, then asked "How about you Poppy? How did you awaken your powers?"

A memory of her mother flashes in her mind "I- I'd rather not talk about it"

Meanwhile, at Mantra's meeting

At the business center of Cavéz Avinolia — a towering skyscraper surrounded by other corporate buildings — a meeting room sat behind glass doors on one of the upper floors.

Around an oval roundtable, wealthy attendees bantered in cocky posh accents, their condescending laughter echoing faintly off the walls. Mantra was among them, deep in conversation with a man clearly affiliated with energy production — his grey suit pinned with a small lightning bolt.

The room fell silent the moment someone entered. A man in a tailored suit, a sash reading Mayor draped across his chest.

"Good afternoon, everyone."

Everyone rose at once. "Good afternoon, Mayor!"

One of the men near the front stepped forward, hand extended for a handshake. The Mayor waved it off.

"No — sorry, no handshakes today. This is urgent. I know that none of you are aware what has happened in few days prior"

Meanwhile at Claire and Poppy

After eating lunch at the cafe, both of them went exploring in the central city's premises. Walking around, it was past noon; the sun was still beaming straight to the ground like a video game with bad shaders. Stores were open but not a single person was in them.

Poppy glanced at Claire with her eyes lit up "Hey, I don't mean to pry in your life, but is it okay if we take a visit at your place?"

She crossed her arms as she cupped her chin with her finger "Hmm lemme think, yeah sure why not?"

Poppy sighs "Tho in this heat, we should take a cab."

While Poppy pulls out her phone, Claire notices something in the distance. It's a fully clothed man, wearing a mantle peering at them far from an alley.

The taxi finally arrives, and the both of them hopped on, before entering the cab. They noticed the tint was blacked out like a limousine. As they got in, both of them noticed the driver was exceptionally pale.

Poppy said "St. Augusta Welfare School please"

As they drove off, Poppy was visibly smiling softly, while Claire had her eyes locked onto the driver, the driver looked at the rear mirror clashing eyes with Claire, she quickly looked away.

They got quiet for the rest of the ride

They arrive at the school.

Long lines of police tape, swaying against the wind, from the crater that Ms. Song created in the courtyard to the hole that punched out of the campus.

"Claire"

Claire gazed at the grizzly sight, nothing was in her mind but the voices of the incident echoing in her ears.

"Claire?"

She darts her head back at Poppy "Oh ah! Sorry I-"

"Are you feeling okay? We can go home if you like-"

"No it's fine… wanna see our room? Pretty sure mys sister's still in class, but um…"

Poppy tilts her head, "but what?"

"Pops, with your pink hair? You kinda stick out like a sore thumb."

Poppy spreads her hands at Claire "Alright, alright, I got it" She tucks back her long hair inside her trenchcoat "How's that look?"

Claire crosses her arms "Yeah, that'll do"

As they enter inside the school, the only sound that they're hearing is the flapping of police tape and the whistle of the wind

"Huh, there should be at least one air con turned on, nothing seems to be humming" Claire said

Poppy asked, "Maybe it's lunch?"

Claire shook her head "No, if it was lunch, the entire campus would be loud as fuck. So loud you wouldn't even hear ourselves talking"

As they peer into the windows, again and again. Not a single class was seen.

As the both of them climb towards the stairs. They see the rooms' doors lined up in the hallway.

Finally, both girls arrived at the twins' room

"So err… this is our room."

As soon as Claire opened the door they were engulfed in an overwhelming pungent stench. Poppy started coughing, then gagging as she bent down leaning onto her knees. Swarms of flies hit Claire's face as she tries to swat them out.

Then she froze.

"Claire what the fuck is going… on?"

Both of them froze as the swarm of flies cleared out, leaving the rest of the room clearly visible.

In her room was a pile of bodies, deflated, defiled, and decomposing on the beds, floors and leaning onto the walls, as maggots ravaged the lifeless bodies.

Claire's body trembles as she lets out a guttural scream

"NnnnnNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Poppy pulls her back as she quickly slams the door shut.

Claire drops on her back while she yells "NO NO NO NONONONNO NOOO!!!" shaking her head violently while she skitters back to a wall as she covers her mouth, muffling her own voice as tears run down her eyes.

"Shhh! It's okay! Claire I'm here, it's okay" She holds her by the shoulders. But then she straightens up when she senses something.

"Who's there?!" Poppy shouted, Claire immediately stopped crying. Gagged Claire rushes behind Poppy.

They see it, eyes faintly glowing in the darkness of the hallway

Poppy immediately throws a knife towards it, followed by a hiss of pain. She stuck out a finger gun, slams the thumb-hammer then.

BOOM

The flash of the explosion reveals tens of vampires hugging the surfaces of the hallway.

Claire asks

"Run?"

"Run!"

THEY BOLTED

They ran like their lives depended on it, because it did! Their steps were quick, not a single misstep of surface area was made, bodies tilted forward. They hear the skittering of tens- no hundreds of vampires all around them, popping up from doors, ceilings and windows in the darkness, but stop at beams of light.

Claire notices this "Poppy!"

Poppy was huffing heavily "What?"

"I just remembered, they burn under the sun!"

"So they're vampires?"

"Pretty much!"

Suddenly they were blocked by a wall of vampires.

Cornered, they stop on their track as both of their sneakers screech on the floor.

Looking around as both of their faces are shot wide open, sweating bullets as they look around.

Poppy pulls out a volley of knives, threw at both sides as Claire ducks

"Claire, cover your ears!" She pulls out two finger guns pointing at opposite sides.

Despite clearing it for a few seconds, the vampires swarm back up immediately

KABABOOM!

Bodies of vampires flew away, limbs, organs and all.

There was an opening on the floor, she throws a knife on it, then BOOM detonates it strong enough to punch a hole on the floor.

"COME ON!" Poppy grabs Claire by the wrist and pulls her down to the hole with her.

As they drop down, they see a wave of vampires emerging from the darkness of the hallway of the ground floor, and some on the hole that she just punched out. They also notice that the surroundings are getting darker by the second. They make a run for it, while that's happening, Poppy asks.

"They hate the sunlight right?"

"Yeah, whatchu got in that noggin?"

Poppy spreads her trench coat, yelling, "Catch 'em, but watch your hands!" Both of them stop on a dime, then Poppy flaps her trench coat as tens of knives fall onto Claire's arms.

"Throw anywhere, but as far from us as possible!" Poppy shouted.

Claire nodded. Running, she throws the knives at the vampires' faces one by one — thwack, chock, shing, ting! "Shit, I missed!"

"Nah, it's okay I'll handle it!"

Darting her body back, Poppy points her finger guns at the vampires Claire hit, then—

BOOM, BANG, POW! Poppy blew all of them up.

"Claire! Throw 'em on any open wall you see!"

A vampire suddenly charges toward them, straight at Claire. She slides forward, throwing a volley of knives at an open wall while Poppy jumps over the vampire's head, kicking it so it misses Claire.

Poppy pulls out another pair of finger guns, aimed at the open wall.

BOOM.

The explosion punches a hole clean through the wall, revealing a room with a window that sunlight beams through. The light hits the vampires and quickly incinerates parts of their bodies — some entirely — dropping most of them to the floor. The ones that don't fall have avoided the light altogether.

Through the hole, they finally see the window — but because of Poppy's taller stature, a vampire manages to grab her by the leg, forcing her to look back. She sees the vampire's face: a boy, pale, barely any meat left on him, his eyes without a single tinge of color.

It opens its mouth, fangs unfolding, ready to bite.

Poppy kicks and kicks, but its grip won't budge — until Claire grabs a knife from Poppy's trenchcoat and stabs it straight into the vampire's cranium, forcing it to let go. It lunges for Claire next, but her small frame lets her slip beneath its reach, and she gets clear.

They sprint for the window, as fast as they can, then—

CRRRRRRRAAAASSSSSHHH.

They smash through the glass, blanketed in sunlight from outside, rolling on the courtyard's lawn.

The vampires snap, roar, and snarl, burning in the light beaming through the shattered window, unable to chase any further.

The two girls stood there, panting.

"Claire *gag* Those were students!"

"Poppy I'm so sorry I dragged-"

Poppy quickly hugged Claire tight "Shhh- shut it, I'm the one that dragged you here; you just guided me, I should've stopped when you looked reluctant"

"It's only been a few days since I was gone. How fast did it all happen?"

Poppy looks at the window, with all the vampires squirming "Hey, I think me and Kremidal fought something similar not too long ago. Since you used to live here, -know any info on that?"

"Absolutely, the drug is called Noctum, remember when I stabbed that one vamp and pus came outta his head? That's the substance"

Poppy looks back at Claire "So if I get bit, do I become a vampire?" "It's only been a few days since I was gone. How fast did it all happen?"

Poppy looks at the window, with all the vampires squirming "Hey, I think me and Kremidal fought something similar not too long ago. Since you used to live here, -know any info on that?"

"Absolutely, the drug is called Noctum. Remember when I stabbed that one vamp and pus came outta his head? That's the substance."

Poppy looks back at Claire. "So if I get bit, do I become a vampire?"

"No — a little birdie told me you need a special injector to do that." Claire pauses. "Also, what time is it?"

Poppy checks her smartwatch. "It's four! Shit, we gotta get back to Cydonia before the sun comes down!"

Poppy suddenly flashes back — Johnny Zambubu, lying in a puddle of pus, a vial injector beside him. "Oh shit... I think one of our targets was juiced with that— thing. What's it called again?"

Meanwhile at the business center at Cydonia.

"NOCTUM!"

The mayor slammed both of his hands on the long round table "It has become a city wide epidemic. In just days

If any of you notice the streets, you'll barely see any person walking in daylight, why? The city commissioner has observed that they act and feed like vampires. Commissioner please, the floor is yours."

It was a man in a white shirt, brown striped tie with a bomber jacket with the Cavéz Avinolia Police Department sigil on its breast pocket. Alongside a few men armed to the teeth with apprehension tools.

It has severely affected every business that has kept the city afloat, it is now assumed that seventy percent of the population has been Noctum-ized. It has halted multiple businesses, and even e-commerce including some of yours"

He looks directly at the people at the round table, he opens the projector at the very back of the room displaying an actual autopsy of a vampire, in which the head is vertically cut in half

"In this autopsy, some have taken a liking to your employees, as the only form of feeding they seem to tolerate is drinking blood, directly from the tooth- as you may notice there isn't a trace of blood on their bodies, as it showed only pus inside their bloodvessels."

Next slide portrays different angles of the suspect fleeing, and feeding on the researchers

"And this cadaver here, healed itself from its severed head, and attacked our laboratorians, draining them of their blood as the suspect's body fully healed down to the blemishes of their skin.

Another fact that I should let you know

You'll never know… it could be one of us"

Then one of the attendees raised their hands. It was a man that's dressed in a blood-tanned crocodile leather coat with black fleece on its collar. "Sir, how can we know if one is Noctumized, when it's hard to distinguish?"

"Excellent question Mr. Kazama of Kazama Dynamics, correct?"

Mr. Kazama nodded

"One thing that I haven't mentioned is that: these people are walking corpses. And like corpses-" the Commissioner pulls out a tiny jar, inside the jar: was a fly. Opening it, it escapes to the meeting room.

The fly lands on a table, crawling, hopping inch to inch, looking left and right until finally it crawls towards the man right beside Mantra.

Mantra's shot-up in shock as the man in grey darts his head around, looking at the other attendees.

The man in grey swiftly climbed onto the top of the table, slipping on the surface causing himself to fall flat on top. The other guards rushed to grab the man in grey with each and every limb, fully incapacitating him while the other attendees got up from their seat to back away, while the Commissioner grabbed on to the blinder's pulley

"Oh and like vampires, they burn under the sun"

He pulls up the blinders

The man in grey's skin started boiling, his clothes catching fire. Luckily the guards were wearing special gloves, so despite the fire touching their hand, they wouldn't let go. The man just kept thrashing.

However his strength grew weaker and weaker, until finally. He stopped, and the guards finally let go, despite the skin sticking and stringing up as they pulled off.

Meanwhile at Charlotte's clinic in Cydonia

"That's them Kremidal" said Zephyr

The two terrorists that had been involved in Charlotte's luxury train were cuffed to the frame of the bed with each limb. "What the- let us go! We're the real heroes here dammit!"

"Being a hero and threatening ze lives of innocent civilians is not ze same zing" said Charlotte.

Kremidal saw the bandage on Zephyr's back right onto his left shoulder blade "Mate I'm more concerned about you- you alright? Looks like you took a nasty one."

"It's okay, I can still move my arm, but reaching for my back hurts a little, also: Charlotte- are you affiliated with these boys in any way?"

"Non, I have never seen zese people in my life"

Zephyr reached his hand at the two terrorists "They said they're the Eyes of Charlotte"

"Zey are absolutely not, Kremidal- you are technically a priest no? Crucify zem!"

Kremidal walks in between the commotion, sticking his hands up against them.

"Ladies, ladies, relaaaaaaax, what's important is that no civilians were harmed, Zephyr and the gang getting harmed is part of the job, I mean I wouldn't personally do this for free y'know.

Charlotte, we can't just crucify anyone like that, and you two- impersonating as us is punishable by execution, however me and me team are not strangers to violence due to confusion, we are living in Cydonia after all"

Everyone in the room looked at each other.

"Howevah" He turns his head at the terrorists "Both of you are not getting out scot free, you threatened to harm everyone on the train including yourselves.

Me, Zephyr, and a few more others are part of the Eyes of Charlotte. You can't join us nor be invited, because we want the organization to act upon itself through own volition, that is exactly what you did yes, but both of you were simply misguided

Our groups goal, is to protect the innocent, strengthen the weak, and share with the poor, you and Meself are people after all"

The two terrorists looked away, frowning.

Kremidal perched on one of the terrorists' beds. "Now, I'm not particularly harsh when it comes to punishments, because I hate the sight of suffering without a cause. Do you boys have a place to stay after this?"

"No father"

"No sir"

Kremidal stood up from the bed "Then, you will assist in rebuilding my church, until the entire team completes repairs, after that: you can stay in one of its rooms for the rest of your lives, until you can find a proper place to stay outside of the church"

One of them sighed "Oh thank you father"

He turns his face towards Charlotte from the back "And you need to watch your temper, Zephyr's already reported that there was minimal damage to your train, and crucifying them is not a reasonable response.

That punishment is reserved for people who have done egregious crimes to the church"

Zephyr rests his hands onto his hips "Wait did you guys deadass crucified someone before?"

Kremidal nodded "Why yes! There was once a priest that had a fondness of molesting little boys, it had gotten to a point where he raped one of the nuns. So to answer your question, yes: there is a possibility for us to crucify these two"

Zephyr's jaw dropped as his eyebrows pressed each other

Kremidal shrugged "Oi don't look at me like that! Somebody had to do it"

Charlotte sighed "In ze meantime, I will tend to Zephyr's aid. Kremidal if you have any errands; now is a good time to handle zem"

"Aight, aight. Good call- Zeph, I'll refer you on future jobs, by the meantime, take a rest"

Kremidal finally got out of the clinic, observing the surroundings. It was twilight, sun was already sinking in the horizon, the people around the city had begun to head home with their vehicles. The street lights on the… well- streets started to light up. The night begins to beckon.

Kremidal arrives at his vehicle; a humble compact electric car, blanketed in solar panels on its roof.

As he drove away, his road home was quiet, emerging from the left ear of Cydonia. He finally exits the city

He turns one the radio; AM for the news station

"[Good morning, afternoon, evening! You're listening to Cydonian Broadcast Channel.

Today we've got some hot topics! Proud owner of Boom Studios: Johnny Zambubu found dead in a shootout within his own hideout. However a mysterious substance was running throughout his bloodstreams, along with the other mercenaries whom have seen to have scratch marks, but bodies contain the same substance as Johnny Z's

Investigators theorize that this attack was connected with the mayor's death, as methods are almost one to one]"

While driving Kremidal rolled his eyes "Ugh, here we go again"

The radio continued "[Investigators call this suspect, The Beast of Cydonia.

And now let's take a peek at politics. Due to the untimely death of the mayor, the municipal hall has decided to commence the electoral campaign two months early. But due to the sudden announcement, they have allowed the candidates to run longer.]"

POPIPO PO PI PO PI POO

Kremidal's phone rang. He picks it up

"Hello"

It was Misty "[Hello, darling?]"

"Oh~ we're doing pet names now? What's next, you cuff me up in the bed frame tonight?"

Misty giggles through the phone "[Shut up, this is important - I've recently seen the news that the campaigns are up.]"

Kremidal raised an eyebrow "Yeah, what about it?"

"[A survey result was posted and I am literally the lowest rated]"

But suddenly Kremidal sees a person right in the rear mirror, as the person stuck the knife onto his neck. The person was wearing a cowl, hiding their face; they whispered.

"Keep driving father" The voice was deep and distorted

Kremidal chuckled "Hehehe, you know what's funny Misty?"

"[What?]"

He smiles "Have you ever been in a place between life and death? Because right now, I certainly am"

Drops the call, and just keeps on driving.

"Shite, I forgot I have a bounty on me head-"

"Stop talking; keep driving!"

He enters a highway in which the vehicle is now travelling up to a bridge.

Then

KREMIDAL FLOORED IT

The knife dug into the soft skin of Kremidal's neck by only a few millimeters—just enough for a thin, hot line of blood to bead up and trickle under his collar.

The car's engine howled as the speedometer snapped from 60 to 200 in the span of a few heartbeats. The whole chassis shuddered; the seats pressed hard into their backs.

"Stop it!" the stranger yelled, voice still warped by the modulator.

Kremidal didn't answer. He yanked the wheel hard left. The car lurched sideways, tires screaming against the asphalt. Cars behind them slammed on brakes, horns blaring in a messy chain reaction. Momentum yanked the stranger backward; their free hand clamped onto the headrest so hard the knuckles went white.

SKREEEEEEE—

Rubber burned. Smoke poured off the tires in thick black ribbons. The stranger's grip finally slipped. The knife jerked free and nicked the side of Kremidal's neck on the way out, leaving a second, longer cut that immediately welled with blood.

Then the barrier.

CRASHHHH

The front bumper punched straight through the metal railing like it was cardboard. For one long, weightless second the car hung in open air—thirty feet of empty drop below them. The stranger's modulated scream cut through the wind. Kremidal's hands stayed locked on the wheel, face calm even as the ground rushed up.

Nose-first impact.

Metal folded. Glass exploded inward. The car bounced once, then flipped end-over-end. Airbags punched out of the dash and side panels with loud pops. Safety foam bubbles burst from the undercarriage, cushioning the next few rolls so the vehicle spun and bounced like a toy instead of simply crumpling. Each rotation slammed them against the seats and ceiling; blood from Kremidal's cuts sprayed across the cracked windshield in thin red arcs.

Finally the rolling stopped.

The car sat upright on its roof, half-buried in dry, ochre soil, steam hissing from the crumpled hood. Dust drifted in the sudden quiet.

The cowled stranger kicked the bent door open, crawled out on hands and knees, and tore the mask off. Her real voice—clear, young, raw—broke the silence as she vomited hard onto the dirt, shoulders shaking.

Kremidal climbed out the other side like he'd just parked at a convenience store. Blood ran freely from his forehead, the corner of his mouth, and both cuts on his neck, dripping onto the dust. He wiped none of it away.

Then the sound of a dozen electric motors rose over the crash site.

Scooters drifted in tight circles through the dry soil, kicking up clouds of orange dust. The riders—hooded, faces covered—formed a loose ring around the wrecked car, engines humming low.

Kremidal just stood there, bleeding, waiting.

"June!" one of the riders yelled, immediately hopping off of the scooter, sprinting towards the stranger in cowl, June.

The others held Kremidal at gunpoint "Don't move a muscle old man!"

Kremidal finally stands square, revealing his towering stature. The gang unknowingly started to tremble. Their hands shake as they start to struggle to hold their guns still.

"Apollo no!" the girl in cowl yelled

"Stand the fuck down old man!" He cocks his shotgun, and he roared "RRRRRAAAAAAGGHH"

BOOM

He pulls the trigger, but in a heartbeat. Kremidal flash stepped towards the gang member with a shotgun. Grabbed its barrel as Kremidal revealed his claws, shimmering against the moonlight.

"STOOOOP!!!"

The girl in the cowl reached out yelling. "Please stop, I didn't mean to cause trouble!"

Kremidal relaxes his grip as he lets go of the shotgun, he puts away his claws. Tucking it back in his jacket.

The girl finally takes off her cowl, revealing bright, vibrant, gradient hair, with blue and green.

"Kremidal right? Claire told me a lot of good things about you."

"Claire?"
