Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Breaking the Chains

Akari was sitting in front of the Shikon Jewel; she ignored its attempts to convince her to make a wish. She was focused on only one thing. Undoing the seal. She thought that Inuyasha would use his sword in approximately one day. She had just this time to do it, before he arrived and brought the world's consciousness with him.

Akari ignored the illusions that the Shikon Jewel created for her. Surprisingly, her mind was calm despite this being a life-or-death situation. She could feel it. Even this seemingly empty space had souls. She could feel something breaking inside her. The power that had been contained suddenly exploded. The Shikon Jewel remained silent while Akari tried to control her power. It was too much. She felt as if her entire body was going to be destroyed because she couldn't contain so much power. But she clenched her teeth, ignoring her wounds, and tried to contain the power in her body. She couldn't let anything slip away.

Just when she felt she was about to die. Akari sensed the presence of the world's consciousness. Akari opened her eyes and shouted

"Merged!!" The power responded to her overwhelming desire not to die and condensed on her forehead, forming a red diamond tattoo. Akari sighed. She had achieved it.

At that moment, time stopped. A white space enveloped her, and she felt an attack with incredible murderous intent directed at her. Akari drew and swung her sword in the direction of the attack. It couldn't touch her, but she heard screams of pain from someone.

"Damn you!" In the white space, a shadow suddenly appeared, taking shape.

Akari knew it was the world's consciousness but when she saw its face, she couldn't help but feel stunned. That face belonged to Kagome, the original female lead.

"How dare you?! I should kill you!"

Akari came back to her senses and smiled sarcastically.

"Yes, you should, because now, you are going to die." Akari started to hit her without her sword. She only used her fists to strike her. Releasing all the frustration and resentment that had built up.

"Wait, wait, please wait! If you kill me, this world will die too." Akari stopped, but she asked.

"Do you think you are so important?" She seemed to be furious with Akari's answer, but she still responded.

"You know that this world is not complete since the original female lead disappeared. I help to keep the balance. If you kill me, all will fall, even your world." Akari furrowed her brow. She knew it was probably true, but it didn't mean she would let her go just like that.

"Good, then we can all die." She opened her eyes in surprise, as if she didn't expect Akari to be so mad.

"Wait! We can talk about it. Think about your family." Akari's eyes turned cold, and she raised her fist.

The world's consciousness was scared and quickly said.

"I can give you whatever you want. What do you want? Power, love, freedom..." Akari listened to her words and chuckled.

"How can you give me what I want if you haven't even done it yourself?" The world's consciousness face's changed.

"I know you can't leave from here. You want to stay with Inuyasha, I don't care if you are the real Kagome or not. You seemed to be very powerful, but outside here, you couldn't do anything more than just a few punishment tricks. That's why you didn't kill me before, right?" Akari laughed while she saw her face turn angry.

"You can't give me anything. I can achieve what I want on my own. I don't need you." The world's consciousness stayed silent for a while before speaking.

"Don't be too proud. With all that power you now possess, it is impossible for you to live in peace. You will be hunted down until you die because an existence as powerful as yours will not be tolerated by anyone. Who knows, you might even end up worse off than I am." She laughed with malice.

Akari kicked her and said.

"You talk so much. Do you think I didn't think of it? I knew it. That's why I decided to seal my spiritual power again after I kill you." She was surprised and said.

"That's impossible! You're a liar! Who would give up that kind of power?" Akari chuckled.

"I don't care what you think, but to put your mind at ease, I plan to do it in front of your precious Inuyasha, so that it will be clear to the whole world that I no longer have this power." She seemed stunned and murmured.

"That's impossible..." Akari started to think if she couldn't kill this thing, why not do something worse? The beating Akari gave her wasn't enough.

Well, she supposed they must pass from death to a fate worse than death.

"You said you can't die, right? Okay, I won't kill you." She looked at Akari suspiciously.

"I'm not lying, but since I see you're so comfortable, it's time to make some improvements." Akari drew her sword.

The world's consciousness tried to escape, but Akari tied her with her spiritual power.

"Since you like attacking the heart so much, it's time for you to experience it." Her eyes filled with fear, but she couldn't resist. She could only watch as the sword slowly moved toward her chest and stabbed her.

"Ahhh!!" She felt immense pain.

Akari laughed.

"We have just started. Don't worry, you won't die." To her, Akari's smile seemed like a demon's. At that moment, she truly regretted doing all those things to Akari.

But no, that was useless.

**

Akari sheathed her sword and looked at the woman who was lying pale on the ground, saying.

"Stand up. I will tell you what you are going to do from now on." The woman quickly stood up despite her wounds.

"First, I won't remain with Inuyasha." Akari saw how a sparkle of joy passed through her eyes before quickly disappearing. Akari smiled.

"But don't worry, he won't remain alone. I prepared someone very special to stay with him the rest of his life." A woman's face changed when she thought about who could be.

Akari laughed. "Yes, it's his beloved Kikyou." Her face twisted with hatred at the mention of Kikyou. She had suspected something since the second time Kikyou died. The world's consciousness seemed to feel a special grudge against Kikyou. Because with her actions, she sometimes managed to change some essences of the original plot, no matter how small, but with Kikyou it was different. Everything was exactly the same. Now she knew why.

"And don't even think about doing anything to her, because this time Inuyasha might find out." The woman clenched her teeth, but she finally nodded.

"Second, I don't want to see your presence in my home. I will take care of it." This time, she quickly nodded. Akari didn't care if she agreed or not. Akari had already cut her connection with her world. She couldn't leave this time.

"Third, you will no longer intervene in the development of the world." She seemed surprised.

Akari made sure she wouldn't intervene; she had not only tortured her before, but Akari had also put a curse on her. If she dared to leave this place or use what little power she has left to do something, her soul would be destroyed in that instant.

She was very angry, but she was still afraid of Akari. "So, what should I do if Inuyasha and the others need help? I can't let them die. The world would be destroyed if they died." Akari clicked her tongue and gave her a parchment.

"With this, you can send a signal. If they were in danger, I wouldn't ignore it." Akari sighed and said.

"Now, get out of here. I need to say goodbye to my friends." The woman bristled, but she obediently turned around and left.

Akari opened her eyes, and time was running again. She saw the Shinkon Jewel and said.

"Shikon Jewel disappear forever." The Shikon Jewel was destroyed, and Akari broke the space where she was.

Outside were Inuyasha and many demons. When she appeared, the demons ran toward her and looked at her with hatred.

Akari swung her sword one time, and they all died. Inuyasha felt a chill when he saw that technique again. Only this time he was truly afraid.

Akari looked at Midoriko, who nodded toward her, and Akari did the same before she vanished. Then Akari turned around and looked at Naraku, who opened his eyes and gave her a resigned look like saying 'You win' before he disappeared.

Akari saw Inuyasha's face. He was hesitating about moving toward her and only said.

"Thank you, Inuyasha, for coming to pick me up. Now it's time to return."
