Chapter 73 - Chapter 73

Chapter 73 Blue Spider Lily and Hinokami Kagura

  Aoki watched Giyu Tomioka leave.

His next task was rather sensitive, and it was best to keep it a secret from the Demon Slayer Corps.

This wasn't a matter of trust.

As the old saying goes, "If a ruler is not discreet, he will lose his ministers; if a minister is not discreet, he will lose his life; if secrets are not

kept, disaster will ensue." Some things must be kept secret when necessary.

Nezuko tilted her head, a puzzled expression on her face.

  Why did they leave?

  Creak.

The door behind her opened, and a woman wearing a white square-necked long robe and a white headscarf walked out of the house.

"Nezuko, who are you talking to? Is Tanjiro back…? Huh? And who is this guest?"

  Kamado Aoi's face showed surprise.

Because they lived in the mountains, they rarely had guests.

This must be Tanjiro's mother… Aoki walked over and politely said, "Mrs. Kamado, Miss Nezuko, hello, my name is Aomura."

"Hello, Mr. Aomura." Kamado Aoi bowed slightly.

Nezuko bowed with her mother, her little head still fuzzy with sleep, wondering how he knew her name.

"Madam, I have something I'd like to discuss with you," Aoki said.

Kamado Aoi, though somewhat puzzled, still warmly led Aoki into the house.

  "Please excuse the simple furnishings!"

"Madam, no need for such trouble!" Aoki accepted the tea and asked, "Isn't Tanjiro home?"

He had only seen a group of little kids, even smaller than Nezuko, and hadn't seen Tanjiro.

"Tanjiro went down the mountain to sell charcoal and hasn't returned yet. Does Mr. Aomura know Tanjiro?"

  Kamado Aoi cautiously probed.

"I've heard of Tanjiro, but Tanjiro probably doesn't know me."

Aoki smiled, cutting to the chase, and asked directly, "I've heard there are blue spider lilies nearby. Does Madam know their location?"

"So Mr. Aomura came for the Blue Spider Lily. I do know its location,"

Kamado Aoi said, suddenly realizing. "However, the Blue Spider Lily blooms for an extremely short time, only for the two or three days when the sunlight is strongest, and it doesn't bloom every year." Aoki

breathed a sigh of relief and earnestly said, "Please tell me its location, Madam!"

This way, even if he couldn't overcome the sunlight through the system's power, he would still have hope of becoming the ultimate being.

As for the shortcomings of "short blooming time" and "not blooming every year," these were not problems.

  He could wait patiently.

Muzan Kibutsuji had searched for over a thousand years without finding it; what was a couple of years?

  "Of course!"

Kamado Aoi readily agreed, glancing out the window. "Tanjiro should be back soon. When he returns, have him take you there. Tanjiro knows the location better than I do."

  "Thank you, Madam!"

Aoki took out a stack of coins and placed them on the table. "This is my reward!"

  "So much money?"

Kamado Aoi was startled and quickly waved her hand. "No, no need! Mr. Aomura, please keep it. It's nothing precious!"

"It may not be much to you, Madam, but it's crucial to me!"

Aoki said. "Moreover, this isn't just for the information on the Blue Spider Lily. I have two more requests."

Kamado Aoi hesitated for a moment. "Two more requests? Please speak, Mr. Aomura."

Aoki said, "First, I want some of your family's blood. Second, I want to learn the Hinokami Kagura."

There are two kinds of supernatural powers in this world: demonic power and breathing techniques.

Having experienced the power of supernatural professions, he naturally had his eye on breathing techniques.

However, breathing techniques are in the hands of the Demon Slayer Corps, and can even be said to be the foundation of the Demon Slayer Corps.

His relationship with the Demon Slayer Corps was purely cooperative.

Just as the Demon Slayer Corps hadn't investigated his secrets, he couldn't directly ask them for the Breathing Technique.

Perhaps he could try later when their trust was higher.

However, he had a better option.

Sun Breathing, the initial and strongest breathing technique, the source of all breathing techniques, had always been passed down in the Kamado family under the name of Hinokami Kagura.

  Of course,

the requirements for Sun Breathing were extremely high, and few could meet the standards. Aoki wasn't sure if he had the aptitude.

However, compared to the issue of aptitude, he was more worried about whether he could even use the Breathing Technique.

The basic principle of the Breathing Technique was to inhale a large amount of oxygen in a short period, accelerating the heartbeat and blood flow, raising body temperature, and unleashing power far exceeding that of ordinary people.

Demons' physical structures were vastly different from humans; could they even learn the Breathing Technique?

Kokushibo and Kaigaku could use the Breathing Technique because they had mastered it in their previous lives, and their Blood Demon Art was also related to it after they became demons.

  However,

whether he could learn it was a matter for later; for now, he needed to get his hands on the Breathing Technique first.

  "Blood? Hinokami Kagura?"

  Kamado Aoi looked bewildered.

  Both requests were completely unexpected.

Aoki took out a blood collection device: "Please rest assured, Madam, I only need to take a little blood from each person; it will absolutely not cause them any harm."

  "The blood is no problem!"

Kamado Aoi said. Living in the mountains, bumps and bruises are inevitable; a little blood is nothing.

  "But, Hinokami Kagura..."

"Is it inconvenient?" Aoki frowned slightly.

  "It's not inconvenient."

Kamado Aoi gently shook her head.

In her view, Hinokami Kagura was merely a dance used to pray to the fire god, not something precious.

Her husband had only requested that Hinokami Kagura be passed down, never saying that it was forbidden to teach it to others.

  However,

she didn't make a hasty decision.

Kamado Aoi said, "Mr. Aomura, I need to discuss this with Tanjiro first!"

Although Tanjiro was still young, he was both the eldest son in the family and the one who possessed Hinokami Kagura; in this matter, he had more authority than she did.

"Of course." Aoki didn't press her, and stood up, saying, "Then I'll come to visit again tomorrow."

"Wait a minute, Mr. Aomura." Kamado Aoi hurriedly picked up the money on the table: "Please take this back!"

"Madam, to me, both the Blue Spider Lily and the Hinokami Kagura are priceless treasures. This little bit of money is just a token of my appreciation, nothing much."

Aoki's tone was frank: "I see that Nezuko's clothes are quite old. You can use this money to buy some new clothes for the children."

Even with just information about the Blue Spider Lily, he would make a fortune and wouldn't be stingy with money.

He still had a lot of money he brought from the Night Princess Society.

Moreover, the Demon Slayer Corps also paid him a salary, according to the Pillar's standard.

He was not short of money at all now.

  Kamado Aoi hesitated.

She had long been accustomed to poverty, but she hoped that her children could have a good life.

Putting aside the issue of the clothes being new or old, they usually had difficulty even filling their stomachs and often had to dig for wild vegetables. However, in winter, when there were no wild vegetables, they might go hungry.

"However, this is too much! Mr. Aomura, you… eh?"

Kamado Aoi had made up her mind, but Aoki was nowhere to be seen in the room.
