Chapter 74 - Chapter 74

  Chapter 74 Spatial Imprint Formation

Nezuko, carrying her younger brother Rokuta on her back, hummed a lullaby softly. Hearing the creak of the door opening, she turned her head and a bright smile bloomed on her face.

"Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko, are you leaving?"

  "Yes."

Aoki put on his straw hat, suddenly reaching out a mischievous hand to pat Nezuko's head, laughing, "See you tomorrow, Miss Nezuko."

His body was 18, while Nezuko was only 11. This action, though slightly out of line, wouldn't necessarily cause controversy.

  "Huh?"

Nezuko blinked, her fair face turning rosy.

Aoki waved at her, his figure quickly disappearing into the forest.

At this moment, Kamado Aoi chased after her from the room, looking around: "Nezuko, where's Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko?"

Nezuko pointed in the direction Aoki had left: "Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko has already left!"

"Gone? Then it seems we'll have to wait until tomorrow." Kamado Aoi clutched the money in her hand tightly.

Nezuko glanced again furtively in the direction Aoki had gone.

  Meanwhile,

after bidding farewell to Nezuko, Aoki quickly encountered Giyu Tomioka in the forest.

He removed his straw hat and approached him.

"Mr. Giyu, I'll be staying here for a few more days. If you have something to attend to, you may leave now."

In the forest, the dense canopy completely blocked out the sky, so there was no need to worry about the sunlight.

  "Then I'll take my leave!"

Giyu Tomioka said without hesitation, turning and leaving.

As a Pillar, he was extremely busy and couldn't stay here indefinitely.

As for the Kamado family, he, or rather the Demon Slayer Corps, had thoroughly investigated them beforehand.

Neither Tanjiro Kamado nor the rest of the Kamado family seemed unusual; they were simply an ordinary rural family.

The only noteworthy thing is that Kamado Tanjiro seems to possess an exceptionally keen sense of smell, much like his teacher, Rintarou. With proper training, he might become a powerful swordsman and succeed the Water Pillar.

  However,

demon slaying is an extremely dangerous profession, where death can be a constant threat.

Tanjiro's family lives a very happy life.

He couldn't allow Tanjiro to be put in danger for his own selfish desires.

As for Aomura Kazuhiko's purpose in contacting the Kamado family, he genuinely couldn't guess and didn't dare to inquire rashly.

Although there was no specific agreement, not probing each other's secrets was an unspoken understanding between the Demon Slayer Corps and Aomura Kazuhiko.

  ...

Tanjiro walked skillfully along the mountain path, a hint of joy on his face.

The charcoal sale went smoothly; he bought plenty of food, ensuring his younger siblings wouldn't need to eat wild vegetables for the next few days.

Crossing cliffs and traversing jungles, Tanjiro returned home safely. Strangely, no one was outside.

He judged from the smell that everyone was inside.

Without much thought, Tanjiro took the food he had bought, walked over, and pushed open the door.

  "I'm back!"

Everyone turned to look at him.

  "What's wrong? What happened?"

Tanjiro was startled, his nose twitching slightly.

  It smelled of joy.

  Everyone seemed very happy.

  Had something good happened?

Nezuko pointed to the table, and Tanjiro looked over, his eyes widening in shock.

  Money!

  So much money!

More than he had ever seen in his entire life combined!

"What, what's going on? How can there be so much money?" Tanjiro was so shocked he turned into a meme.

Nezuko's big eyes sparkled: "It was from Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko!"

  "Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko?"

  Tanjiro looked confused.

Who was Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko? Why would he give them so much money for no reason?

Kamado Aoi got up, took the food from Tanjiro's hands, and told him the whole story.

  "So that's how it is!"

  Tanjiro was still dazed.

He had only gone out to sell charcoal, and suddenly his family had more money than they could ever spend in a lifetime.

Kamado Aoi said, "Tanjiro, what do you think about Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko wanting to learn Hinokami Kagura?"

  "Sure!"

Kamado Tanjiro replied without hesitation, "If Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko wants to learn, I can teach him, but..."

He glanced at the money on the table and hesitated, "Mom, isn't this too much?"

In his opinion, neither blood, nor the Blue Spider Lily, nor Hinokami Kagura were particularly precious things.

Although they were poor, they shouldn't take advantage of others financially.

Kamado Aoi smiled and nodded gently, "I plan to keep a small portion, and return the rest to Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko tomorrow!"

  "That's good!"

Tanjiro's face broke into a simple smile.

There was so much money here; even keeping just a little would be enough for them to live on for a long time, at least for a year before his family had to worry about going hungry.

Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko was truly a good person; he would definitely teach him diligently when he taught Hinokami Kagura.

Kamado Aoi smiled and said, "We can buy Nezuko and the others new clothes for the New Year."

Nezuko quickly replied, "Mom, my clothes are still very nice!"

Kamado Aoi smiled and patted her hair, then, remembering something, said, "By the way, Tanjiro, Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko seems to know you."

Nezuko and the others also looked at him.

Tanjiro paused for a moment, carefully searching his memory based on his mother's description of his appearance, and finally shook his head, "I have no recollection of him."

Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko's appearance was very distinctive; if he had seen him, he shouldn't have forgotten him.

However, he secretly decided to smell Mr. Aomura Kazuhiko's scent tomorrow.

To him, the nose was more trustworthy than the eyes.

  ...

Time passed, the last rays of the sun faded, and the world was completely shrouded in night.

Aoki held a wooden board in his hand, using his fingers as a brush and his blood as ink, intently drawing spatial markings on it.

With the last stroke, the wound on his finger healed automatically, but he didn't even glance at it, his eyes fixed on the board.

  Buzz!

A slight spatial ripple spread out, like a stone thrown into still water.

  Aoki's eyes instantly lit up.

Under his gaze, the crimson runes rapidly turned silver from top to bottom.

He reached out and gently touched it.

  Nothing seemed amiss.

The complex silver rhomboid pattern blended perfectly with the board, as if it were a naturally occurring, unique pattern.

Beautiful, exquisite, and with a touch of mystery, it was incredibly appealing.

  Aoki carefully sensed it.

After the spatial markings took shape, a new coordinate appeared in his mind, like a new light source suddenly appearing before him, its presence quite strong.

One wasn't a problem, but if there were many, it might be distracting.

However, it wasn't a big issue; he would get used to it.

With so many spatial imprints, figuring out which coordinate corresponds to which spatial imprint requires careful study.
