Chapter 65 - Chapter 65: The Fusion of Ice and Fire... Should Be Even More Thrilling

"Huh? Didn't you say we were going to blow up the train?"

"And what is this place?"

Firefly looked at the vast expanse of white snowy plain before her, turning toward Clara with a confused question.

"You don't actually think that something left behind by an Aeon could be destroyed by my personal power alone, do you?"

"Surely not? Right?"

Hearing Firefly's words, Clara's eyes held a touch of concern, as if she were regarding Firefly as a bit of a fool.

Clara certainly didn't believe that something left by an Aeon would lack any contingency measures. If she just charged in unprepared to blow it up, she might very well end up staying there permanently.

So, the plan to bomb the train still required careful, long-term consideration.

Firefly: …

"Then what are we doing here? Wasn't this supposed to be a trip?"

Firefly surveyed their surroundings—desolate, uninhabited, the earth blanketed in ice and snow. If not for the fact that neither of them was ordinary, they probably would have frozen to death here already.

"Didn't I say?" Clara tilted her head and smiled:

"Aside from the poor environment, the rather extreme weather, the fact that credits are useless here, and the possibility of being wanted by the authorities… it's really no different from a vacation."

Firefly: …

What a truly negligible difference that is…

Because the differences are so massive, they can just be completely ignored, is that it?

A wave of disappointment washed over Firefly. Dozens of sweet, intimate scenarios she had imagined sharing with Clara had been declared a failure before they could even begin… Sob...

Hmm… but actually…

Firefly took another look at the desolate, endless white snowy plain, and a bold idea began to rise in her heart.

Maybe… it's not entirely impossible?

Two girls alone, with the sky as their blanket and the earth as their bed, and then…

Besides… the fusion of ice and fire… should be even more thrilling…

"Mmm…"

Thinking this far, a fiery blush involuntarily spread across Firefly's face, dyeing her entire cheeks red.

Clara: ???

Watching Firefly suddenly, inexplicably blush and radiate shyness, Clara scratched her head in confusion.

Sometimes, it was truly impossible to guess what was going on in Firefly's mind. One moment she was perfectly fine, the next her blood rushed upward and she turned crimson in an instant.

Hmm… Speaking of which…

Clara recalled their previous experience on that godforsaken planet, and then thought back to every instance of Firefly blushing. Finally, Clara reached a conclusion.

"Could it be that Firefly is just… craving my body…?"

At this thought, Clara got a full-body case of goosebumps. But after a moment's consideration, she decided it didn't really matter.

What could two girls even do if one craves the other's body? Play patty-cake?

Having reached this conclusion, Clara didn't pay any more mind to Firefly's behavior. Let her crave, let her crave. It's not like she could actually eat her in the end.

"Firefly, let's go."

Ignoring Firefly's expression, Clara yawned widely, stepped ahead of Firefly, and began leading the way.

"Right, right." Snapping back to reality, Firefly quickly reached up and gave her own head a light smack, as if physically dispelling the thoughts inside, before hurrying to catch up.

"Alright, here we are."

After leading Firefly for a while, Clara stopped. She looked around at their surroundings, nodded, and seemed quite satisfied with the location.

"This is… where?"

Looking at the still-boundless snowy plain around them, Firefly asked, thoroughly perplexed.

"Quite clearly, we are currently in the midst of a boundless snowy plain."

"…I know. I just meant to ask, why have we come here?" Listening to Clara's answer, Firefly felt momentarily at a loss for words. Then, thinking back, she remembered a key term from Clara's earlier statement and pressed further:

"Clara, didn't you say earlier that we might be wanted by the authorities?"

"Who could possibly track us down in this remote, wild place?"

"I know you're eager, but hold your horses." Clara reached out and placed a finger against Firefly's lips, briefly silencing her.

"We came here to… holy crap?"

Before Clara could finish her sentence, she felt a wet, slippery sensation on the finger she had pressed against Firefly's lips.

Feeling this, Clara swiftly withdrew her hand and looked at her finger.

Under the sunlight, the finger appeared even more glistening and translucent.

Seeing the shimmering moisture on her finger, Clara didn't need to guess what it was.

"Are you a freaking dog or something?"

Hearing this, Firefly's face couldn't help but flush red again. It's just… she couldn't help it…

Having such a fragrant, soft hand placed against her lips… anyone would lose control, right?

So, this really isn't my fault. If anyone's to blame, it's Little Clara's irresistibly tempting little hand.

Clara: ?

Fortunately, Clara had no idea what was going on in Firefly's mind, or she would have definitely given her a proper lesson.

"If you're so fond of licking things, once we're done here, I'll go buy you a few bones."

"You can gnaw on them to your heart's content."

Clara casually wiped the saliva from her finger onto her clothes, then turned her gaze to the flat expanse of snowy plain.

She closed her eyes and gently raised her hand.

In the next moment, the ice and snow on the plain seemed to come alive, slowly converging towards one spot.

Finally, they formed a massive castle sculpted entirely from ice and snow, which gleamed magnificently under the sun.

"Hmm, perfect."

Looking at the castle before her, Clara clapped her hands together, nodding with great satisfaction.

"Hmm… seems like it's still missing something though…"

Staring at the castle, Clara felt something was lacking. She lowered her head in thought for a moment.

"Right…"

Clara raised her hand once more. At the highest point of the castle, she used ice and snow to erect a large statue of Firefly.

Firefly: ???

"Clara, what is this?" Firefly looked at the enormous castle before her, and at the statue atop it—a depiction of herself that even she found embarrassing to behold.

She turned her questioning gaze to Clara, as if asking for the reason behind all this.

Hearing her, Clara wasn't in a hurry to answer. Instead, she walked up to Firefly, placed a hand on her shoulder, and flashed a bright, toothy smile.

"From this moment on, you are the Empress of the Ice-Snow Castle."

"And I, I am the Princess of the Ice-Snow Castle."

"Applaud, if you understand."

Firefly: ???
