Chapter 36

Guina and Nami stared wide-eyed, unable to believe what they were hearing. Becoming disciples of the world-famous Navy Hero—Vice Admiral Garp—one of the strongest men on the seas—and getting to train under him for a while?

It felt like a pie falling from the sky—completely unreal.

"So… as long as we say yes right now, we can really train with Mr. Garp?"

Guina and Nami asked timidly, still finding it hard to accept.

"Yes!"

Hearing Jepack's firm confirmation, excitement quickly filled both girls.

Guina was thinking about getting stronger so she could better help Jepack. Nami was thinking about getting stronger to protect herself and avoid holding Guina and Jepack back.

So in the next instant, their excited voices rang out together:

"Of course we're willing!"

"Hahahaha! Then starting tomorrow, I'll be the one training you two! Get a good rest tonight—it's going to be exhausting!"

Garp's bold, happy laughter boomed as he laid out his training plans.

Looks like the old man is pretty satisfied with these two named disciples, Jepack thought, watching the excited expressions on all three of them. He quietly hoped the girls wouldn't complain too much tomorrow!

"Girls—don't get too excited yet. We need to change course toward the old man's destination now. Loguetown will have to wait until the next stop."

Hearing that, Nami and Guina looked confused. Jepack had to explain:

"The trip to Loguetown only takes two days. If we go there, your teacher would only have two days to train you. But if we head toward his destination instead, he can teach you the whole way. You'll have a lot more time to learn!"

"Got it?"

After Jepack's explanation, Nami reacted first and shouted excitedly:

"Great! Then let me take the helm! I'm determined to map every sea in the world—I'll definitely become the greatest navigator ever!"

"I'll help too!"

Guina chimed in immediately.

"Then come help me adjust the course. But you two only need to watch and make small corrections tonight. You need proper rest!"

At that moment, Garp spoke up:

"Hahahaha~ Let this old man lend a hand too!"

Nami quickly shook her head and waved her hands rapidly:

"No way! Teachers should rest properly. Jepack can handle it alone!"

Hearing that, Jepack was instantly speechless. He pointed at Nami's forehead:

"Nami—you sold me out so fast!"

Nami winced from the poke and immediately ran behind Garp to hide.

"Ouch! You jerk, Jepack—stop it~! If you keep it up, I'll have Teacher beat you!"

Garp, watching the scene, laughed so hard tears came out.

Finally, as the older sister, Guina spoke up to calm things down:

"Stop messing around or we'll reach Loguetown before we know it. Just let Jepack and me adjust the course. Nami—you stay and chat with Teacher. You two don't need to help. Adjusting the route isn't difficult."

Jepack followed Guina's words, pointing first at Nami and Garp, then at Guina and himself:

"Then it's settled. You two rest. We'll handle the course change."

With that, Jepack went to turn the helm. Guina followed to help point out the direction.

On the deck, only Nami and Garp's laughter and chatter remained.

As night deepened, only Jepack's figure remained on the deck, lying in his chair drinking pure lager. The other three had been chased off to rest by him.

With nothing to do, Jepack checked the system update timer.

"System—show info."

System update countdown: 15 days!

Storage

• Basic food items ×…

• Superman-type Devil Fruits ×3 (Magnet-Magnet, Bubble-Bubble, Phantom-Phantom)

The system still had half a month until the update. The time to Windmill Village and then back to Loguetown should be just about enough.

The three Superman-type fruits still had no use, and his strength couldn't increase for now.

While the East Blue was basically a beginner zone for bullying weak pirates, occasionally running into someone like Garp still felt overwhelming.

Especially the Red Hair Pirates—who knew if they'd cross paths? Meeting even Garp, one of the biggest names, showed Jepack's luck was off the charts.

Hope we don't run into them. At this stage, I can't win against them.

I wonder if Luffy's already yelling about setting sail by now. I'd love to get a close look at that scar someday. Observing the protagonist up close isn't an everyday chance—especially after stealing one of his future navigators!

Lost in random thoughts, Jepack took a big swig of lager and flash-stepped up to the lookout platform. He lay down on the bedding and sighed contentedly:

"Ah~ Still the best spot up here Great view… and that faint scent of Guina and Nami's sweat from their 'exercise' last time is pretty nice too."

The night passed quietly. By morning, he saw Guina already up, diligently training her body as usual.

"Guina baby~ Good morning! Since you're awake, mind watching the ship for a bit? I need to catch up on some sleep."

Guina heard the voice and looked up—there was Jepack on the lookout.

"Good morning! Why'd you go up there? You almost scared me—I thought a ghost was haunting us this early!"

"Go sleep. I'll keep watch. If anything sudden happens, I'll wake you."
