Chapter 51
Such happy days passed in the blink of an eye—four days flew by. Jepack lay on his deck chair, hand on his lower back, looking slightly exhausted. After four straight days of non-stop teleporting, he finally remembered to do lottery draws!
"System lottery! Let's do one draw to test the waters first!"
The wheel spun slowly at first, then faster and faster until Jepack's eyes blurred from watching.
Just as he reached up to rub his eyes, the pointer stopped on "?".
"Congratulations! Host obtained "?""
Jepack stared at the "?" and felt completely confused!
"Uh… is this good or bad? Maybe I shouldn't open it yet and do another draw?"
"Then one more draw!"
"Congratulations! Host obtained Animal-type Devil Fruit: Dog-Dog Fruit, Model: Wolf!"
"What the—! Isn't this the fruit that guy from Enies Lobby ate? Total trash!"
"Again? The drop rate feels off!"
"Forget it—let's see what this "?" opens first!"
He clicked into the system inventory and opened "?".
Congratulations! Obtained "Basic Swordsmanship ×20".
Jepack: "???"
Is this good or bad? On one hand it's much worse than higher-tier rewards. On the other hand—it's exactly enough to hit the 100× Basic Swordsmanship needed to upgrade one major tier.
"This damn system isn't secretly controlling my drop rate, is it? Giving me a mediocre reward, then following up with a fruit even I think is garbage!"
Jepack rubbed the few sparse hairs on his chin, thinking hard.
After a short while, he decided it probably wasn't intentional.
"The first two draws were probably just bait. System—one more draw!"
"Congratulations! Host obtained Paramecia-type Devil Fruit: Rust-Rust Fruit!"
"Another trash purple! This is the one that rusted Zoro's swords, right?!"
Three draws and not a single red!
Basic Swordsmanship ×20 could at best count as a small gold. The other two were small purples.
Stuff even dogs wouldn't want!
"One more draw—five draws and I'm done!"
"Congratulations! Host obtained Paramecia-type: Smooth-Smooth Fruit!"
"WTF! Purples keep coming non-stop! Can this lottery even continue? The system doesn't give any pity rate—just pure luck?!"
The angrier he got, the more determined Jepack became. He decided to finish this last draw and stop!
"One more draw! I refuse to believe it gives me another purple!"
"Congratulations! Host obtained Logia-type: Flame-Flame Fruit!"
"Holy crap! It finally gave a gold! Everyone knows how valuable Flame-Flame is!"
Fire Fist + Cross Fire—how many people's innocent youth was spent copying Ace's moves! Too bad about Marineford Ace…
The moves are all super cool and strong in the early One Piece world! But everyone knows the power system kinda breaks down later—everyone can make some kind of fire skill, making the originally cool Ace look like someone who's never seen the world…
"I'll keep this one as a collectible. After all, who didn't copy Ace's signature Fire Fist pose as a kid? This is our youth~!"
Jepack reminisced about his real-world childhood—afternoons after school spent glued to the TV watching Starry Sky TV episode by episode with friends. Those were such happy times!
Too bad they'll never come back!
"What a shame! System—one more draw!"
Jepack, reminded of Ace and his own childhood regrets, decided to do one more. Definitely not because his gambling dog mentality flared up and changed his "stop at five" plan!!
"Congratulations! Host obtained "?""
"Another one?"
Is the "?" drop rate this high today? I have to see what bird crap it gives this time!
Click to open.
"Congratulations! Host obtained Basic Swordsmanship ×20."
"凸(艹皿艹) If I draw again I'm a dog!"
"System—upgrade swordsmanship tier!"
"Upgrade successful. Host's swordsmanship has reached Tier 8!"
"Show info."

After checking his personal info, Jepack felt as if all his energy had been drained. He collapsed onto the deck chair.
Looking like someone who wished he were dead, he kept muttering the same words over and over:
"Money-swallowing dog system… you win…"
…
After training, Guina and Nami passed by the deck. Seeing Jepack looking deeply resentful for a long time, they chose not to disturb him.
Because of Jepack's behavior these past few days, they were also a little afraid of this version of him—what if he suddenly acted like a pent-up, frustrated male dog in heat? That would be terrible!
For the next few days, Jepack didn't use the Space Fruit to cause more trouble. He quietly stayed on the lookout platform, watching.
His silence was so unusual that Guina and Nami spent these days being extra cautious—afraid Jepack might suddenly attack!
But the Jepack on the lookout platform was simply still recovering from the shock of the terrible drop rates. He had no interest in doing anything.
That day, from the lookout platform, Jepack spotted an island far in the distance. As the Ten'en sailed closer, he saw a port with a triangular archway.
Jepack finally regained some fighting spirit—no more being a salty fish. In the next instant he flash-stepped from the lookout to the deck and shouted toward the training room:
"Nami-chan Guina-chan Loguetown is here! Hurry up and follow your captain—let's go shopping! Charge! Charge!"
"This is the legendary town where Pirate King Gol D. Roger was born and publicly executed—known as the 'Town of Beginning and End.' Training never ends, but you have to learn to balance work and rest!!"
"Come on, come on! Aren't you curious about the execution platform where your teacher personally captured the Pirate King?"
Although Jepack knew from the anime that Gol D. Roger wasn't captured—he surrendered—he still used Garp's name to lure Nami and Guina!
"Damn it, Jepack—stop howling! Even if we're going shopping, let us wash up and take a shower first!"
"Yeah! We're covered in sweat—how can we go shopping like this!"
"Hehe~ Ladies, need help scrubbing your backs?"
"Get lost! Don't think we don't know what's going through that perverted brain of yours!"
That was Guina's lioness roar!
"(╥﹏╥) If you don't want help, you don't want help—why so angry!"
