Chapter 119 - Chapter 119: The Villain Spence

Chapter 119: The Villain Spence

After a fierce barrage of attacks, the surging wave of infected was finally wiped out.

Nearly twenty corpses lay on the ground, leaving only Jake standing.

Blood hadn't soaked his clothes, only leaving traces on his nose and cheeks.

"How much longer?" he asked, turning his head slightly, catching his breath.

"At least twenty-five minutes!" Kaplan's voice reached Jake's ears through the long laser corridor.

It turned out that only five minutes had passed during this series of attacks.

The infected he had killed were just a drop in the bucket compared to the overall population of this facility.

He raised his katana; the curved blade, originally designed for easy slashing, was now deformed.

Human necks and skulls are incredibly hard; for a custom-made katana like his, to not bend was already a miracle.

Fortunately, he hadn't planned to rely on this katana for the next twenty minutes.

The empty space cleared by the infected was quickly filled again by more that had rushed in at the sound. They carelessly trampled their fallen comrades underfoot, continuing to bare their fangs and claws at Jake.

Jake hurled his katana, piercing the chest of a distant infected before it fell to the ground.

Without pausing, he reached into his coat, and two pistols swiftly appeared in his hands.

Suppressors were quickly installed.

At this moment, the cramped space was once again swarming with infected!

Fire!

Jake displayed the exquisite marksmanship of gun-fu, allowing Alice and the others to witness his formidable close-combat swordsmanship followed by the precision of his shooting.

Suddenly, an infected broke through the precise gunfire and lunged at his neck!

Alice and the others instinctively gasped in surprise. Rain almost pulled the trigger. His close-combat ability was astonishing when wielding the katana, but now that it was replaced by pistols, would he still be able to handle it?

Jake showed them with his actions that gun-fu techniques should not be underestimated!

He swiftly raised his right elbow, then slammed it into the infected's chin!

The infected's wide-open mouth snapped shut from the force. Its purplish-black tongue was bitten off!

Before the creature could even let out a howl, a dark gun barrel was already pressed against its head.

A soft "pfft."

The infected fell to the ground.

This series of fluid and stylish movements amazed everyone, inspiring respect in the men present and igniting admiration in the eyes of the women.

Time passed second by second, but the infected continued to swarm.

The corpses quickly piled up into a small hill, yet a steady stream of infected climbed over the bodies of their companions and charged towards Jake.

"How much time is left?" He wiped the sweat from his brow, his body weary; he had already narrowly escaped being attacked by infected several times.

This revealed his weakness: insufficient stamina. If he were stronger, he could easily have fought for twenty or thirty minutes.

"At least another fifteen minutes!"

Kaplan's voice was urgent, showing he had already given it his all.

When Jake first proposed the deal, there were protests. The hot-tempered Rain had pointed her gun at his head.

The core principles of gun-fu, besides maximizing the use of firearms, included dodging bullets.

He had subdued the woman instantly, which was why Kaplan agreed to Jake's offer.

Since they couldn't escape or fight back, and the opponent was so strong, they might as well take a gamble.

Besides, they didn't believe Jake would let them leave after they refused.

"This won't work."

He took two steps back, then shot two approaching infected in the head, scanning his surroundings for a way to stall for fifteen minutes.

However, this was just a simple laboratory, devoid of any useful features.

But when he saw the narrow doorway, an idea suddenly occurred to him.

"Rain, suppress the fire for a few minutes!"

Rain didn't hesitate, firing instantly. Or rather, she had been waiting for this opportunity for a long time; the feeling of holding a gun but not being able to fire was unbearable.

Jake didn't hesitate either, and to everyone's astonishment, he pulled out a cell phone.

Was he going to make a call to relax?

Everyone couldn't help but wonder, but they were quickly shocked by what they saw.

He had vanished from his spot in an instant!

"What the hell!" Rain, who had witnessed this, cursed and then opened fire even more fiercely.

Everyone stared wide-eyed, not knowing what had happened.

"Could this be how he said he would take us away?" Spence, who hadn't said a word and was hiding in the safest corner, had also seen this.

Alice nodded hesitantly. This priest was indeed too mysterious. His abilities were already unbelievable enough before, but now he could disappear instantly!

If this really was a way to leave, they were indeed saved.

Meanwhile, Alice glanced at Spence with mixed feelings. Instead of showing courage in this critical moment, he had frantically hidden in corners, clinging to any chance of survival. While this was understandable, it bothered her.

Rain's firing was deafening; her submachine gun had no suppressor.

Muzzle flash erupted, and infected after infected fell like wheat being harvested. Due to the rate of fire, she was even faster than Jake!

This speed only lasted less than a minute before she had to reload.

Looking around, she saw Kaplan diligently modifying the Red Queen's mainframe to use as a bargaining chip to save them, and Matt was an unidentified individual.

Only Alice and Spence remained; both were certified Umbrella employees and should be trustworthy.

"Hey!" she shouted to Spence, huddled in the corner, "Come help me, grow a pair!"

With that, she pulled out a pistol from her holster and tossed it to Spence.

"Okay!" Spence looked relieved, caught the gun, and quickly ran over.

After handing over the gun, Rain tossed him a few magazines and then began to concentrate on reloading.

Spence was also seriously shooting at the infected outside with his pistol, but no one could see the smile that curled at the corner of his mouth, hidden from everyone else's view.

He had already regained his memories!

Now he suddenly had a pistol, that terrifying priest was gone, and he had regained his memories, remembering another way to leave the Hive!

Now all he had to do was run!

But he couldn't take these people with him; he needed someone to distract the infected and buy him time.

After killing another infected with a bang, Spence turned to look at Rain.

The woman had already reloaded!

"Don't move!" A hard object pressed against Rain's head, causing her to freeze involuntarily.

"You son of a bitch!" Upon realizing that it was Spence who was holding the gun to her head, Rain couldn't help but curse again.

"I remember everything now," he laughed, pressing the gun against Rain's head while his left hand encircled her waist, pulling her backward step by step.

"If you remember, why are you doing this!" Kaplan stopped what he was doing, raised his pistol, and demanded.

"It's because I remember," Spence slowly backed away, reaching the side door of the Red Queen's control room. "This biohazard outbreak—it was my doing."

"Before that guy shows up, I'm leaving first. Without the train, you might have to walk out of here on foot."
