Chapter 1.4 Shen Qi
The night was young, and the air was cold.
Shen Qi was only wearing thin fabrics that could not protect her from the cold air as she leisurely strolled towards the garden to take a breather.
She decided to go to the garden since she was no longer feeling sleepy and was instead pretty much awake, so she decided to walk for a while and then go back when she got tired.
"Who could this lady be?"
Hearing the familiar voice, Shen Qi cursed her bad luck and forced a smile to her face before looking back.
The night was supposed to be peaceful, but one just had to ruin it!!
The garden is pretty much a cursed place where you can easily meet your enemies; that's a golden rule!
"This princess thought that the voice was familiar, it was General Li after all."
"You know me? Have we met before?"
General Li was surprised when the lady before him uttered his name and could not help but ask.
"Who would not know of the famed young genius General Li, who fought with the invaders in a losing battle but then managed to turn the tide in his favor instead and won the battle. Even this princess is impressed with General Li's ability."
"I did not know that my name would even reach the princess's ears. This one is humbled." General Li politely smiled.
"You're too humble, General."
Shen Qi was amazed by this person's personality.
"It is late now; this princess will be going first."
"Then the princess should be care-- watch out!" General Li shouted.
'I don't know if my bad luck had accumulated after so many lifetimes of bad deeds, but really, why do you need to strike me at this very moment?!'
Shen Qi did not know what kind of bad luck had struck her that day that she even managed to win the lottery.
When she was passing by the General's side, she, with her rotten luck, stumbled on nothing and was about to fall when General Li caught her in time.
The two of them were in a very compromising position, her holding his robes tightly as he embraced her tightly.
"I-I'm sorry."
Shen Qi immediately pushed General Li as she cursed her luck.
"*Ehem* Are you alright, Princess?"
General Li was also stunned for a minute before he snapped back when Shen Qi pushed him away.
"This princess is alright. Thank you, General Li."
Despite her dislike of the leads and a certain general, Shen Qi still thanked him for saving her.
"Your wel--" General Li was cut off when an annoying voice suddenly shouted.
"What are you doing you sl*t!"
A woman in a white dress, pretty face and small boobs, was walking in large strides towards them with a big frown on her face
"Feng'er...."
"You, I only left for a minute, and now I see you hugging another woman!" Feng An yelled.
Feng An's face was full of jealousy, which was ugly to look at. She looked at Shen Qi with an ugly frown and went forward to slap her.
*Pak*
"What do you think you're doing?"
Shen Qi smiled smiled amused, she looked down on the woman sitting on the ground.
"You!"
Feng An, whose right face was stinging from a slap, was almost speechless and could not utter a word immediately because of anger and humiliation.
"Feng'er!"
General Li, who saw his fiancée getting slapped in front of his face, was angry but helpless at the same time.
He knew that his fiancée was in the wrong for trying to harm a royal member; if the others were to know this, she might get punished or worse, killed!
He knew how favored the princess was in front of him by the Emperor; if he were to know she was harmed, he would definitely lash back!
"You sl*t, you dare seduce my fiancée!! Let me tell you that he will never look at such an ugly b*tch like you, even if you were to strip right in front of him!"
Feng An, who was as bold as a shrew, was so angry that she kept on cursing, not caring about offending people.
As Feng An kept on looking at Shen Qi, she just realized that the woman in front of her was so beautiful that she almost looked like a goddess.
Her inferiority complex suddenly rose to the highest level and kept on cursing, not worried of her face.
"Feng'er, please stop. Don't shout at her anymore."
Seeing his fiancée not caring about face, General Li tried to calm her down. But instead of calming her, he fanned the flames of her anger.
Shen Qi only kept quiet on the sidelines; she thought that these two leads were fun, and became a spectator between the two couples' fight.
'It would be good if I had a popcorn.....'
"Li Fengxian! Are you taking this sl*ut's side now? I'm your fiancée, you should be taking my side, not hers!"
Feng An suddenly loses her rationality when she hears her fiancé siding with Shen Qi instead of her.
"You sl*t, let's see if I won't deal with you today! Come here!"
Shen Qi was only listening, quietly, but still this b*tch insisted on fighting with her. Fine then, I'll teach you a lesson.
Shen Qi was about to beat the living daylights out of Feng An when suddenly she was pulled into a strong, warm embrace.
She was shocked and immediately looked up; her eyes clashed with the most beautiful pair of eyes that she had ever seen in her entire life.
Sparks flew in the air.
Even if the man behind her were to turn into ashes, she will still be able to recognize that face anywhere or ashes, he is none other than Mu Xuan.
Mu Xuan, better known as the story's villain.
It was not known in the story why Mu Xuan kept on going against the leads, he neither hates the ML nor loves the FL, so there should be no reason for him to fight with them, but that's what he keeps on doing in the novel.
Whatever the FL planned on doing, he would always counter it with a plan. You will really get confused about why he keeps on doing it even after his death.
His going against the leads is really confusing so you will keep on racking your brain left and right just to know how he truly feels but in the end, even after his death, no one knew the reason why he kept on going against the leads.
"What do you think you're doing?"
Mu Xuan was pretty much livid when he saw a lowly dog trying to hurt his princess.
Mu Xuan was actually there all along, hiding. When Shen Qi went out of the Royal Hall, Mu Xuan also followed after her to see if she had safely gone back.
But, he did not expect her to meet General Li and even talk with him.
He knew that Shen Qi had feelings with that little General, even though he was away from home, he was always being updated about his brothers and sister, so he pretty much knew what was going on, even though it had been a long time since he left home.
He gritted his teeth when he saw his 'sister' in the embrace of a stranger, so that he even had the urge to go and beat that scum for laying a hand on his little 'sister', but he kept it in since he knew he could not just yet reveal himself to her.
He knew she was still angry at him about what had happened 5 years ago. She did not even participate in the welcoming parade he had this morning, so definitely, she is still angry!!
But when a whore tried to hurt his 'sister', he could not hold it in and pulled her in his embrace to protect her from harm!
"I said, what do you think you're doing?!" Mu Xuan roared in anger.
The two leads were frozen in their spot when they saw the masked man.
Li Fengxian was frozen because he knew who exactly this man was.
He was his General, Mu Xuan, the Third Prince, and most of all the Demon of the battlefield. He does not dare offend such a character, let alone his fiancée, so he tried his best to shut his mouth and make her apologize, or else there will be unbearable consequences.
"Me, apologize to that sl*t? No way!"
Feng An felt wronged hearing her fiancé order her to apologize to Shen Qi. She will never apologize to such a lowlife!
"Feng An!"
Seeing that she refused, to compromise, Li Fengxian was sweating buckets when Mu Xuan's expression turned even darker.
"Excuse me. This princess has something to say."
A melodious voice broke the tension between the trio; they all looked at Shen Qi.
"What do you want, you sl*t? I already told you I won't apologize, so I won't apologize! You dare seduce my fiancée, you've got guts! Let's see if you will not be the next rumor tomorrow morning, your reputation will go down the drain!"
Fen An smiled smugly like she had won the competition already. She knew that the ancients lovedd good reputation the most and is afraid to have it tainted.
"Aren't you talking about your own reputation going down the drain?"
"Why you!"
*slap*
"That's for offending this princess."
Shen Qi rub her palm, her palm stings, hitting the female leads thick face.
Shen Qi raised her hand again to slap Feng An, but Mu Xuan grabbed her hand and slapped Feng An instead.
Shen Qi raised an eyebrow, looking at this person who was tending to her reddening hand.
"Well, that's for cursing me many times already."
Shen Qi was about to raise her hand again when Mu Xuan grabbed her hand again and slapped Feng An instead.
She raised an eyebrow at Mu Xuan, who just looked back at her calmly.
"If you want to slap her, just tell me. I'll do the dirty job for you, this hand..."
Mu Xuan brought Shen Qi's hand towards his mouth and kissed her palm then looked her in the eye.
"Don't use it to touch dirty things again."
Shen Qi wanted to curse at this idiot, but instead did not say anything more, then went to face Feng An, who was once again swimming on the ground, both of her cheeks were swollen and red, her lips bleeding.
"That slap was hmm... nothing?"
Shen Qi smiled, trying to grate on Feng An's nerves.
Feng An could only glare at her hatefully, afraid that she might get slapped again, not that she could talk since her face was pretty much swollen.
Li Fengxian's heart softened at the sight of his fiancée's beat-up figure; he could only sigh helplessly and help her up since he could do nothing but watch.
"Your Highness, please, this General begs you to please forgive my fiancée if she has offended you. My fiancée did not know that it was her highness she was talking to, and was a little rude. This General knows that her highness is magnanimous. Please forgive this General's fiancée for offending her highness!"
Li Fengxian put his arms together and did a bow to show his sincerity. He did not immediately get up but continued on bowing, waiting for his fiancée to be forgiven.
Shen Qi did not immediately reply and waited for half an hour before answering him.
"Since this princess is magnanimous, then this princess will let her off just this once, but remember, if this were to happen again, don't blame this princess for being merciless." Shen Qi then shooed them away.
Li Fengxian immediately supported his fiancée when Shen Qi suddenly stopped them from walking away.
"Does your highness still need something?"
Li Fengxian was almost afraid that Shen Qi would take back her words; he gripped his fiancée a little too tightly.
"Don't be nervous, this princess just had something to tell your fiancée lest there be rumors flying around."
Shen Qi was just casually saying, but the implications were understood.
"Her highness does not need to worry, nothing of this will come out." Li Fengxian quickly said.
"Hmm.. and as for you, Feng An, right? You don't need to worry, this princess had no interest in General Li, so you can rest assured. What you saw earlier was just an accident, and General Li was just helping this princess to stand up."
They were confused why Shen Qi even bothered to explain after she beat up Feng An, but none dared to say anything.
"This princess does not like a man like General Li; if I were to say a man like Third brother is to my taste."
Shen Qi was just joking, but could feel the person holding her hand freeze and was looking at her with a penetrating gaze.
"That's all, you can go now."
"Then, this General bids goodbye to her highness."
Li Fengxian quickly escorted Feng An, afraid of being stopped again.
When the two people were no longer in sight, Shen Qi grabbed her hand away from Mu Xuan's sinful hands.
"This princess still had not forgiven you; don't get too close." Shen Qi said before walking away from Mu Xuan.
Mu Xuan stood rooted on his spot and looked at the person walking away from him helplessly, and bitterly smiled.
"I knew it, she still hadn't forgiven me...."
