Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Creating a New Reactor

Tony got a headache just thinking about the things Jack had mentioned.

Although his technology was top-tier, mass-producing those things would still take a serious amount of work.

"Once I solve this palladium poisoning," Tony said, "I'll research those things for you."

Jack immediately added, "And my three robot maids, fully upgraded, with after-sales service."

Tony's lips twitched.

He had completely forgotten about that.

For now, Jack and Tony parted ways. Since they were already back in New York, Jack naturally headed home.

Jack landed at Stark Tower, picked a random sports car from Tony's garage, and prepared to leave.

"These damn roads," Jack muttered. "The chassis is getting scratched to hell. Good thing it's not my car."

Home

When Jack arrived at his neighborhood, a hot female security guard—still in uniform—saluted him as she opened the gate.

Jack had long since replaced the original property management with his own people from the Red Room.

The neighborhood now had higher perimeter walls, electric fences, and surveillance cameras covering every blind spot.

Privacy violation?

Sorry. If a hundred pounds of white powder are found in your house, you can go complain to the prison guards.

All residents here had been strictly screened. Anyone deemed unstable or dangerous had already been "relocated" by Jack using some very mild methods.

Jack looked around at the peaceful atmosphere with satisfaction.

Two luxury cars were already parked outside his house. The one he was driving made it three.

"I should really build a garage," Jack thought. "Leaving them in the sun feels wrong."

He glanced at a Koenigsegg nearby.

"That thing used to be red. Now it's yellow from sunburn."

"Dears, hubby's back."

It was Sunday.

Wanda, the full-time homebody, had stayed in all day.

May was off work.

Little Peter was playing with his friends in the newly built LEGO playhouse inside the neighborhood.

The moment Wanda heard Jack's voice, she used magic to accelerate herself and jumped straight into his arms, beating May by a split second.

May didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but she still stepped forward and hugged Jack—with Wanda sandwiched in between.

Jack grabbed Wanda's butt with both hands, squeezed thoughtfully, and asked seriously:

"Baby, did you get fat?"

Silence.

Wanda froze.

The next second, she blasted Jack away with Chaos Magic and stormed back to the sofa, angrily stuffing chips into her mouth.

May leaned close to Jack's ear and whispered with a grin,

"I'll tell you a secret—Wanda is already 60 kilograms."

(A top-tier 110-pound figure, with the extra ten coming from her dual-fan independent graphics cards.)

Jack's eyes widened.

"No wonder she feels so soft. She got meaty. Her ration bags got bigger too, didn't they?"

May nodded smugly.

Wanda: (◦`~´◦)

"Wanda wife," Jack said seriously. "Let me inspect you properly."

May added casually, "I've gained weight too, you know."

Then she bumped into him with her own "graphics cards".

After that, all hell broke loose.

Night Drive

At night, Jack, Wanda, and May each drove a sports car down the highway.

"Jack," Wanda said nervously, gripping the steering wheel, "why does it feel like you're pushing me into the seat every time I step on the gas?"

Jack tried to stay calm.

"Relax, sweetheart. Don't floor it. Ease into it."

Wanda panicked.

"Hu… hubby, which one is the gas again? I got nervous and forgot."

Jack sighed.

"JARVIS, help her."

"No problem, Mr. Jack."

JARVIS's voice echoed inside Wanda's car.

"Ms. Wanda, please relax. Remove your hands and feet from the steering wheel and pedals."

"O… okay…"

The car immediately stabilized and drove smoothly.

The drivers behind them nearly cried in relief.

Jack looked at May. She was driving carefully, her face so serious it looked almost murderous.

"JARVIS, help May too."

Burger Shop

After parking the cars in Tony's private garage, the three of them went to a crowded burger shop.

"Flash, a three-person combo."

Flash grinned when he saw Jack.

"Boss, order from the machine. Otherwise, the kitchen won't get the ticket."

Jack flicked Flash's forehead and led the girls to order.

He had originally thought six employees would be enough—but after opening, he had to hire four more for the front desk, kitchen, and cleaning.

Wanda nearly fainted when she saw the total.

"Over 200 dollars?! Pietro and I used to eat ourselves full for twenty!"

Jack knocked her lightly on the head.

"This area is full of elites. That guy over there? I've seen him talking business with Pepper. Look at him—still stuffing his face."

After eating, Jack packed a large takeout portion.

Wanda and May went home, while Jack headed back to Stark Tower alone.

Tomorrow, he and Tony would officially work on the new reactor.

California – Underground Lab

Jack placed the burger into Tony's custom thermal box and flew to California.

Tony was coding.

"What's this program?" Jack asked.

Tony hit Enter.

"JARVIS, run it."

"Yes, sir."

Tony grabbed the burger.

"It's a chip manufacturing system. Inspired by the spider suit chips. My future self really is a monster."

Jack's eyes lit up.

"So my gaming PC can be mass-produced now?"

Tony raised his pinky.

"Piece of cake."

Jack rushed to his workstation and dove straight into development.

With JARVIS assisting, all he had to do was click and give instructions.

Genshin Waves—launch.

Jack stared at a character resembling Aphrodite.

"…Should I add more realism under the clothes?"

Tony walked over and glanced at the stats.

"QQ cups? That's ridiculous. Let big brother handle this."

Jack shoved him away.

"Go eat your burger, you playboy who can't even handle Pepper."

Jack added a support structure, then added "realism points".

Tony left, speechless.

The Next Morning

"Mr. Jack," JARVIS said, "there is an illegal intruder in the yard."

Jack glanced outside at the Quinjet.

"Let him in."

Outside stood Nick Fury.

"Nick," Jack smirked, "did Tony buy that century-old whip just for you?"

Fury's face darkened.

"Same joke every time. Can't you be original?"

"But it works," Jack said smugly.

Fury gestured at the items.

"Everything's here."

Jack frowned.

"What about the Tesseract research? Anti-gravity tech?"

Fury's expression darkened again.

"Those belong to S.H.I.E.L.D. These are Howard Stark's personal effects."

He turned to leave.

Jack added casually,

"If you ever find the Old Popsicle, remember to call me."

Fury paused.

The New Element

Jack handed Tony the tapes and left.

Half an hour later—

"We're about to change the world," Tony said excitedly. "Let's renovate."

The pipeline was built.

The shield aligned perfectly.

The prism accelerator activated.

Blue light erupted.

Tony shut it down.

The triangle glowed.

"Congratulations," Jack said. "Your life just got extended."

Tony installed the new reactor.

Black lines faded.

He breathed deeply.

"It worked."

Jack grinned and slapped his shoulder.

"So… don't forget my robot maids. And my gaming empire."

Tony laughed.

"First, we celebrate."

Jack nodded.

"Your old man's research really crossed a century."
