Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Power of the Ancient Relic

"Ptui, ptui! I actually played such a childish game with you!"

When the song finally ended, Ace snapped back to himself and jumped off the rocking chair in disgust.

"What are you talking about, Ace? You were obviously laughing really happily just now."

Luffy picked his nose as he spoke, completely exposing him.

"That is because you were seeing things wrong..."

Ace's face flushed slightly at being called out so bluntly, but there was no way he would admit it. No way he was that childish.

"What-ever. Sabo, let us keep going."

Luffy gave him a look full of disbelief, then ignored him and hit the switch again.

The chair started rocking, and another song played.

...

"Hohohohoho..."

Watching the boys mess around, Makino could not help covering her mouth as she giggled softly.

Seeing her laugh, Luffy immediately waved her over.

"Makino, you think it is fun too, right? Do you want to try it with us? It is really great!"

"Hohoho... no, no, Luffy. You three go ahead. I will just watch."

Makino shook her head, still smiling as she refused.

"Sigh, how did this old man end up with grandsons like that..."

Garp pressed a hand to his forehead, staring at Luffy who was laughing his heart out on the rocking chair.

If there were not so many people watching, he would already have introduced Luffy to another Fist of Love.

"See, I did not lie to you. It is fun, right?"

Amon, on the other hand, felt that Luffy and the others were acting completely normal.

They were seven years old. That was the perfect age to love silly, fun things.

This rocking chair suited them perfectly.

"If everything that comes out of those jars is this kind of childish junk, then this old man would rather not open any at all..."

Garp never missed a chance to try and push the price down.

Even for him, one hundred million Berries per jar was painful.

"Hehe, old man Garp, I already told you. The real show is still coming."

This fossil really was annoying, always trying to talk down his jars.

Fortunately, the things inside Sabo's jar really were good. The first two were more for fun, but the third one was an absolutely top tier treasure.

"Oh? Then this old man will wait and see."

"What is the third item, Mr. Amon?"

Sabo could not take it anymore. After hearing Amon say several times that the good part was still ahead, his curiosity about the third item reached its peak.

Even Luffy stopped rocking the chair for a moment. He hopped off, wanting to see what kind of treasure Amon was talking about.

"The third item is..."

Amon slowly opened the last object and laid it out in front of them.

A pipe covered in ancient, intricate patterns appeared before everyone's eyes.

"What? It is just an old pipe."

The moment they saw it clearly, disappointment spread through the group.

A pipe like that hardly looked like a treasure.

Even Sabo felt a little let down. He had really been looking forward to the third item, but seeing that it was only a pipe dampened his excitement.

Although, he did have a long standing fondness for pipe weapons.

"Who said this is just an old pipe? This is a great treasure that is not inferior to the Magic Flame at all."

"A treasure? How can a pipe be a treasure? It is not even as fun as the rocking chair."

Luffy lost interest the second he heard the word "pipe."

Compared to that, he still preferred things he could eat or play with.

"Of course it is a treasure. This is an Ancient Relic weapon. Its hardness and strength surpass even Diamond."

Amon's words made everyone swallow hard.

"Mr. Amon, may I take a look?"

Sabo's eyes burned as he stared at the Ancient Relic Pipe in Amon's hand.

Seeing his yearning expression, Amon smiled and passed it over.

"Of course. It is your treasure. Hold it well, and do not let it go to waste."

"Alright."

The moment Sabo took the weapon, his hands trembled slightly with excitement.

The instant his fingers touched it, he felt as if he were meeting an old friend he had always been meant to know.

"Try swinging it. See what it can do."

Watching Sabo fondly caress the Ancient Relic Pipe, Amon urged him to swing it around and test its power.

He did not immediately explain the weapon's abilities.

Instead, he wanted Sabo to discover them for himself.

"Go test it off the ship."

When he saw Sabo about to start swinging right there on deck, Amon quickly stopped him and pointed to the shore.

With that thing's power, if it went out of control and damaged the ship, he would be the one crying.

"Got it."

Sabo nodded and leaped off the ship, Ancient Relic Pipe in hand.

He planted his feet, then began to swing.

As he moved, the patterns on the pipe started to glow faintly.

The faster he swung, the brighter the patterns shone, as if they were gathering energy for something.

"Hm? This is..."

Garp's expression grew serious as he watched the strange sight.

Boom.

Suddenly, the pipe in Sabo's hands flashed with blazing light.

In the next heartbeat, a streak of crimson fire shot from its tip, tearing through the air toward the distant sea.

The instant it slammed into the water, the surface exploded violently.

The power of that blast was even greater than Ace's earlier punch by a noticeable margin.

Once again, everyone was completely stunned.

They could only stare, speechless, at the raging sea where calm water had been just seconds before.
