Shu Feng placed his hand in the indentation and suddenly felt a strange wave scan his body.
A synthetic, mechanical voice sounded from the machine: "Shu Feng, age 15, Spiritual Power Value: 1."
Ding Xiaoxue consoled him, "That Spiritual Power Value is a bit low. But don't worry, Shu Feng. In this world, 99.99% of people never awaken as Spiritualists. Look at it another way—you're already much luckier than 99.99% of the people in the world."
Shu Feng smiled, full of confidence. "Don't worry about me, Ding Xiaoxue. I'm already satisfied just being able to become a Spiritualist. And in the future, I'll definitely catch up to you and become a Spirit Warrior."

Led by Ding Xiaoxue, they passed through three alleys before a luxurious, nineteen-story building appeared before them.
In front of the lavish building stood two four-meter-tall stone lions.
"Xiaoxue, who is this?"
One of the stone lions' eyes rolled, as if it had instantly transformed from stone into a living creature. It stared at Shu Feng and asked curiously.
Ding Xiaoxue smiled sweetly. "Uncle Da Shi, this is Shu Feng, my classmate. He just awakened not long ago. I brought him here to join the Guardian Flame."
"Go on in."
The stone lion nodded slightly, and its eyes stopped moving, as if it had turned back into stone.
"What are they?"
Shu Feng stared at the two stone lions, his eyes glinting with curiosity. It was the first time he had ever seen such beings.
Ding Xiaoxue smiled. "They are Uncle Da Shi and Uncle Xiao Shi from the Gulondo World. They're also among the Guardians of Beiling Street."
The building's interior was simple and practical, spacious and bright. A young, beautiful receptionist in a professional uniform sat at the front desk.
The beautiful receptionist asked curiously, "Xiaoxue, you're here! Who is this?"
Ding Xiaoxue said, "Sister Mei Mei, this is Shu Feng, my classmate. He just awakened as a Spiritualist, and I'm bringing him here to join the Guardian Flame. Is the captain in?"
Zhou Meimei said, "The captain is in his office. Come over and register."
Ding Xiaoxue and Shu Feng went to the front desk, swiped their identification cards, and completed the registration.

Ding Xiaoxue said, "Captain, this is Shu Feng, my classmate. He's a newly awakened Spiritualist who wants to join our Guardian Flame organization."
The man in the glasses and suit smiled warmly. "Hello, Shu Feng. I am Zhou Yang, the captain of the Beiling Street branch of the Guardian Flame. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Shu Feng said, "Hello, Captain Zhou Yang. I'm Shu Feng."
Zhou Yang smiled gently. "Tell me about the Ability you awakened and your Spiritual Power Value."
Ding Xiaoxue quickly interjected, "Just give a rough overview of your Ability. Never tell anyone the full details. Once your awakened Ability is exposed, enemies will specifically target its weaknesses. Countless powerful individuals have been killed because their weaknesses were exposed."
Shu Feng breathed a sigh of relief. "My Ability seems to be related to Beast Taming; I can control beasts. My awakened Spiritual Power Value was 1, and my current Spiritual Power Value is also 1."
After a moment's hesitation, Shu Feng added, "I might also be able to control Void Demons, but that's just a vague feeling. It's not confirmed."
