"A lot of people saw you two come in together today!" Serena circled around to face her, leaning in close.
"Yeah!"
"So? Why did you come in together? Is President Yates pursuing you, or is it... *that* kind of relationship?" Serena watched her with a mischievous look.
"We're married!" Summer Lancaster finally caved. She knew what kind of person Serena was—a bit of an airhead, but a loyal friend.
"What? Married?!" Serena leaped to her feet, shouting at the top of her lungs. Summer shot up from her chair and clamped a hand over her mouth.
"Shh."
"Mmph, okay! Just take your hand away!" Summer removed her hand. Serena panted heavily, taking a long moment to calm herself down.
"A flash marriage? I've never even seen you two interact."
"We got married two years ago."
"Then why doesn't anyone know?"
"We've been separated!" Summer said, giving her a look like a long-suffering wife. 'This feels just like a police interrogation.'
