Ewan glanced at her, then turned to watch the ambulance drive away. "If you're really that worried," he said, "you can follow it to the hospital."
Sarah Shelby froze for a moment before realizing what he meant. She shook her head. "There's no need. I don't know Sierra Sutton well. I'm worried about Clara, but she just has a few scrapes. It should be fine. Besides, with President Quinn there, he won't let anything happen to her."
Ewan Stratton turned back to her, raising an eyebrow. "Are you that envious? That Clara Grant got to marry a man she loves, who also loves her back?"
Sarah was stunned again, then a little speechless. 'It's true that I'm envious, but what part of what I just said could possibly have given him that impression?'
But Ewan Stratton kept his eyes fixed on her, a teasing look on his face as he continued, "Because you're envious of a marriage based on mutual love, you hate your father for forcing you to marry a man you don't love?"
