Nate Jennings was cleared for discharge after just one day in the hospital. The doctor prescribed some anti-inflammatory medication and told her to take it at home as directed.
She was thrilled to hear she could be discharged, but the moment Howard walked in, she immediately put on a frail and listless act.
"Howard, did you finish the discharge paperwork? We can go home now, right?" She rested her chin in her hands and batted her eyelashes at him.
Howard waved the papers in his hand. Seeing her still in a hospital gown, he knew she was putting on her damsel-in-distress act again.
"Are you going to get changed or not? Or do you want to stay here for more shots?" he asked, his tone like an adult coaxing a child.
Nate Jennings quickly sat bolt upright, but her voice was still frail. "But… I have no strength… Can you carry me?"
