A devilish smirk played on Ethan Kingsley's lips. "I told you before, your life is mine. Don't even think about dying without my permission."
Ivy Tanner snapped, "Ethan Kingsley, the election is almost here. You still have the time to be here talking with a dog? Aren't you afraid of making your fiancée jealous?"
The faint smile on Ethan Kingsley's face vanished at her cold remark. "Angering me won't do you any good."
Ivy Tanner retorted bluntly, "I'm not looking for any favors. I just want you gone. Now, leave."
Ethan Kingsley's cold eyes hardened. He reached out and gripped her chin, squeezing with enough force to nearly crush the bone.
Ivy Tanner averted her eyes, refusing to look at him or speak.
Ethan Kingsley squeezed for another moment. Seeing her endure the pain in silence, he released his grip and said in a deep voice, "I'll have someone come install a new air conditioner tomorrow. Sleep with it on at night. Don't get sick and cause me more trouble."
