Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Too Naive

He handed the medicine to Bai Ling.

He then quickly turned and walked over to the more seriously injured Gu Si, handing him another pill.

"What is this?"

Gu Si asked, his brows furrowed.

His first reaction to something from an unknown source was suspicion.

Jiang Ji replied, "Chu Jing gave it to me. She said this medicine can help stop the bleeding."

Gu Si, who had been about to refuse, hesitated for a moment.

After all, based on past experience, he didn't believe for a second that Chu Jing would help them.

If she had anything good, chances were she would hide it to enjoy by herself.

Or, Chu Jing would save it for that male Beastman...

A cold glint flashed in Gu Si's eyes at the thought.

"Hey! Aren't you afraid I'll get my revenge on you later!"

'Has Chu Jing really changed?'

Meanwhile, amid the chaos, Chu Jing stopped swinging the vine in her hand. She looked down at Du Nan, who was lying on the ground covered in blood, and a cold smirk touched her lips.

"Next time you dare to cause trouble for me for no reason, it won't be as simple as just a whipping."

"Got it?"

She spoke each word deliberately.

At that moment, Du Nan, lying on the ground, was filled with indignation.

All of her subordinates had been sent out to find food.

The one remaining Beast Husband had also been knocked aside by one of Chu Jing's lashes.

Du Nan didn't realize that Chu Jing had infused that last lash with some kind of special ability, making it far more powerful than a normal strike.

Even so, Chu Jing felt an inexplicable fire in her heart that hadn't completely dissipated. With a clean, decisive motion, she forcefully snapped one of Du Nan's arms.

Following two sharp CRACKS, Du Nan's howl immediately echoed throughout the area.

Chu Jing kicked her lightly and warned, "Lay a hand on my people again, and you won't be getting off so easily."

Turning to Bai Ling, Chu Jing said in a low voice, "If you can walk, then walk on your own."

Then she ordered Jiang Ji, "You're in charge of carrying Gu Si."

Jiang Ji nodded solemnly. After signaling for Gu Si to change back into his human form, he carried him on his back and followed Chu Jing away.

As for Du Nan, still wailing on the ground, none of them gave her a second glance.

After returning to their temporary shelter, Chu Jing immediately began using the most basic Healing Technique to treat everyone's injuries.

She continuously mobilized her energy.

She didn't stop until everyone's injuries had more or less stabilized.

Jiang Ji watched Chu Jing's pale, weary face and couldn't help but remind her, "Master, you don't look well. Should you rest for a bit?"

"I'm fine, just a little tired," Chu Jing said with a faint smile. "I'll be fine after some rest."

'She originally thought this body wouldn't be able to hold out for long.'

'But unexpectedly, she had handled that annoying Du Nan with ease.'

'And she discovered that the natural energy in this world was exceptionally abundant.'

'On the way here, she had secretly absorbed a great deal of nature's spiritual energy.'

'Thinking back, she had accidentally discovered in the Apocalypse that she could convert her Wood Element Ability into Healing Power. She never expected to have brought that skill here with her.'

'This way, she wouldn't have to worry about getting sick with no one to treat her in the future.'

Seeing that her three companions' faces were still somewhat pale, Chu Jing suddenly remembered that she still had a lot of fruit and food stored in her Space Ring, so she turned and left the cave.

At that, the few people left in the cave looked at each other. After a moment of silence, Gu Si was the first to break it.

"Jiang Ji, don't you think the Female Master's behavior is strange?"

He remembered that earlier, when they left the camp to find food, Jiang Ji had been the one to stay behind in the cave to look after Chu Jing.

Now it seemed things weren't as simple as they had imagined.

Jiang Ji thought for a moment but couldn't think of anything out of the ordinary.

Instead, it just reminded him that this was the three hundred and eighty-ninth time Chu Jing had teased him.

Chu Jing always used all sorts of strange methods to mess with him.

"She's fine, she just likes to mess with me."

Jiang Ji said nonchalantly.

The other three: "..."

'Isn't that just because you're too naive and easy to fool?' they thought silently to themselves.

Jiang Ji hadn't learned a single bit of the cleverness and cunning a fox should have.

It made them feel a little helpless.

The three of them looked up at the cave ceiling, staring speechlessly at the gray rock.

A short while later, Chu Jing, who had run out, returned.

A few blades of grass clung to her hair, and she gave off the faint scent of fresh grass.

She was holding several fresh, plump fruits in her arms. Their surfaces were still covered in dewdrops, making them look especially tempting.

The rich fragrance of the fruit was enough to make one's mouth water.

Xuyue, Bai Ling, and Gu Si's gazes instantly focused on Chu Jing.

A trace of curiosity flashed in their eyes.

But Jiang Ji rushed over directly, his face full of curiosity, and asked, "What's this? How come I've never seen it before?"

Chu Jing casually made up an excuse to deflect the question.

"These are fruits I just saw on the road. They looked pretty good, so I picked some for you guys to tide you over."

As she spoke, she smiled faintly and distributed the fruits in her hands.

There were five people in the cave, and after she was done, she had two fruits left.

The fruits were distributed evenly, with everyone getting one.

Jiang Ji, being impulsive and genuinely hungry, immediately ate one.

He was conquered by the taste after the very first bite.

Although he ate fruit occasionally, he had never tasted anything so delicious.

After finishing the fruit in his hand in just a few bites, Jiang Ji looked at Chu Jing pitifully, his eyes full of longing.

"You still have two left. Can you give me one more?"

Chu Jing refused decisively. "No. I have to keep one for myself."

"Then what about the other one?"

Jiang Ji pressed, unwilling to give up.

Chu Jing said without hesitation, "The other one is for Rong Kai."

Jiang Ji gave her a strange look, his eyes filled with a trace of doubt and confusion.

'He felt this Female Master was a little different.'

'Unlike the other females, she didn't seem so selfish and was willing to think of others.'

'Still, she's a pretty good person, willing to share with everyone!'

Jiang Ji marveled inwardly.

If the other three knew what Jiang Ji was thinking, they would probably roll their eyes.

After all, they knew Chu Jing far better than Jiang Ji did.

No wonder he was so easily coaxed by Chu Jing.

The problem wasn't Chu Jing, but that he himself was too naive.

Rong Kai, who had just arrived at the cave entrance, stopped in his tracks, a hint of surprise on his face.

He hadn't expected to hear his own name and couldn't help but feel a flicker of curiosity.

Chu Jing was still wondering how to preserve the fruits.

After all, she wasn't sure when Rong Kai would be back.

Rong Kai used to leave at sunrise and return at sunset, keeping a regular schedule.

But this time, the body's original owner had sent him off to another cave, and she feared he wouldn't be back for a long time.

"Rong Kai, you're back!"

Chu Jing's voice was filled with obvious surprise.

She hadn't expected Rong Kai to appear at this moment.

Jiang Ji was an impatient person. The moment he thought about the fruit Chu Jing was saving for Rong Kai, he immediately ran up to him and said eagerly, "Rong Kai, hurry up and go get that fruit from the Female Master, then split it with me, okay?"

Rong Kai's eyes flickered slightly, but he didn't step forward to approach Chu Jing.

But that didn't stop Chu Jing from approaching him.
