Chapter 46 - Daily Life

After breakfast, they went about their respective activities, while Makoto headed to his teacher's dojo. When he arrived in front of the dojo, which looked just as he remembered, he pressed the doorbell. Not long after, he heard footsteps from inside.

"Who's coming here so early in the morning?" his teacher said as she opened the door.

"Long time no see, Sensei," Makoto said with a smile.

"Makoto? Since when did you return to Japan? I heard from Mari that you went abroad to study," his teacher said.

"I just got back yesterday, Sensei," Makoto replied with a smile.

"Come in. You can tell me why you came here," she said.

Makoto entered the dojo and walked to the living room his teacher usually used to relax.

"You can make the tea yourself. You still remember where everything is, right?" his teacher said.

"Isn't it the host's duty to prepare drinks for the guest?" Makoto joked.

"You? A guest? Don't be ridiculous. What kind of guest has the host's key and can come and go as he pleases?" she replied lazily.

Makoto then made tea for both his teacher and himself. After placing the tea in front of her, he said, "How have you been, Sensei?"

"The same as always," she replied.

"Sensei, if I may ask, what do you want to do in the future?" Makoto asked.

"Me? I prefer living like this now—training students who come to the dojo every day and living a relaxed life," she answered. "Why are you suddenly asking me that?"

"Actually, I want to invite you to come with me," Makoto said.

"Go with you abroad?" she asked.

"More precisely, to another world, Sensei," Makoto replied.

"Are you telling me to die?" she asked, slightly angry.

"How could I possibly tell you to die, Sensei? What I mean is going to another world—like a fantasy world where there is magic and monsters," Makoto explained.

"Have you been reading too many comics that you've started hallucinating?" she said.

Without another word, Makoto created a fireball in the palm of his hand. His teacher was shocked to see the fireball floating there.

"What trick are you using to try and fool me?" she said, still unconvinced.

Makoto then enlarged the fireball in his hand. It grew from about 10 cm to 50 cm, and the intense heat emanating from it made her finally believe him.

"Alright, alright, I believe you. Can you get rid of that fireball? I don't want my dojo to burn down," she said.

Makoto dispelled the fireball.

"Actually, I have a more convincing method. What do you think, Sensei? Do you want to try it?" Makoto asked.

"Oh? What kind of method?" she asked curiously.

Makoto only smiled mysteriously and teleported with her. When they reappeared, they were 10,000 meters above the ground. Realizing where they were, she shouted,

"Hah!? Are you crazy, Makoto?!" as she began falling.

"So, Sensei, now you must believe that magic exists," Makoto said calmly.

"You're still joking at a time like this?! Can you make us stop?!" she yelled.

"Alright, Sensei," Makoto said, stopping their fall and making them float in midair.

"Haa… that startled me," she said.

"I thought even if you fell from this height, you'd stay calm, Sensei," Makoto teased.

"Anyone would be shocked if they suddenly started falling from the sky!" she snapped, hitting Makoto on the head.

"Ah! Forgive me, Sensei. I'll stop joking," Makoto said, pretending to be in pain while holding his head.

"Alright, I truly believe you now. So why do you want to take me to another world?" she asked.

"I actually want you to become an instructor in my world," Makoto replied.

"Wait a moment—your world?" she asked, confused.

"Yes, Sensei. My world."

"Since when did you have your own world?" she asked in shock.

"After I went to another world. A lot happened, and now I have a world of my own," Makoto said casually.

"You've been giving me one shocking surprise after another. If you told me you were a god now, I wouldn't even be surprised," she said.

"Hm? How did you know I've reached the level of a god, Sensei?" Makoto asked, slightly surprised.

"You… seriously…" she was left speechless.

Then they returned to the dojo.

"So you came here just to ask me to be an instructor in your world?" she asked after drinking her tea.

"Yes, Sensei. There are only a few people in this world I consider precious besides my family. Now that I have greater abilities, I want to help them if I have the chance," Makoto said.

She fell silent and thought for a moment.

"Give me time to think about it," she said.

"Alright, Sensei. Even if you don't agree to become an instructor, you can still visit for fun. By the way, tomorrow is Saturday, and my family will be going on a trip to my world. If you'd like, you can come along," Makoto offered.

"Why didn't you say from the start that you can easily travel between worlds? I thought if I went with you, it would be difficult to come back here!" she said angrily.

"I never said you couldn't return to this world," Makoto replied.

"In that case, I'll go with you tomorrow to your world. I want to see it first before making a decision," she said.

"Of course, Sensei. Tomorrow morning, you can come to my house and we'll go together," Makoto said.

"Alright," she agreed.

After talking with his teacher, Makoto said goodbye and walked through the city. Since he had nothing to do until the evening, he decided to go to Akihabara to look around and see if anything caught his interest. After buying several comics, he searched for a place to have lunch. Finding a ramen shop that looked quite good, he went in and ate there.

Time passed quickly, and before he realized it, it was already late afternoon. Makoto then headed toward his school to meet Nukumi.

When he arrived at the school gate, most of the students had already gone home, with only club members remaining. After waiting for a while, he saw Nukumi walking toward the gate.

"Hey, Nukumi. Long time no see," Makoto said.

"Makoto-senpai?! Since when did you come back from abroad?!" Nukumi exclaimed in surprise.

"I just returned yesterday afternoon," Makoto replied.

"Makoto-senpai, I'm so happy to see you again," Nukumi said cheerfully.

"Do you have time, Nukumi? How about going to a café with me?" Makoto asked.

"With pleasure, Makoto-senpai," Nukumi replied.

After they arrived at the café and ordered drinks, Nukumi asked, "Makoto-senpai, how have you been these past few months? I heard from the teacher that you went abroad. Why did you leave so suddenly without telling me?"

"Um, a lot happened, so I didn't have time to inform you," Makoto said.

After talking about their daily lives, Makoto asked, "Nukumi, are you free this Saturday and Sunday?"

Nukumi was slightly surprised. "I don't have any plans. Why, Makoto-senpai?"

"For two days, I'd like to take you somewhere," Makoto said.

Hearing that, Nukumi started imagining going on a date with Makoto and staying overnight at a hotel.

"Isn't that too fast, Makoto-senpai? I need to prepare my heart!" Nukumi said, blushing.

"What are you thinking? I just want to invite you on a vacation with my family," Makoto said.

"Isn't that even more serious than I imagined?!" Nukumi thought, realizing she would meet Makoto's parents.

"So, will you come?" Makoto asked.

"Of course I will, Makoto-senpai!" Nukumi replied enthusiastically.

"Then come to my house Saturday morning," Makoto said.

"Okay, Makoto-senpai."

"Let's head home now. It's almost night," Makoto said, standing up.

"I didn't realize it was this late. See you tomorrow, Makoto-senpai," Nukumi said cheerfully, waving at him.

"See you tomorrow. Be careful on your way home," Makoto replied, waving back.

Makoto then walked home. When he arrived, he heard Tomoe talking with Yukiko, while Mari was playing video games with Koyuki, and Hakuren was sitting beside Koyuki, focused on the TV screen.

"I'm home," Makoto said.

"Oh, Waka, welcome back," Tomoe said.

"Welcome back, Makoto. Where have you been?" Yukiko asked.

"I met Sensei earlier, walked around Akihabara, and then met a friend from school," Makoto replied.

"Hm, I feel like that friend isn't just an ordinary friend," Yukiko said, staring at him.

"It's not that I want to keep it a secret. You'll meet her tomorrow," Makoto said.

"You're taking her to another world? It seems your relationship is more than just ordinary friends," Yukiko said.

"Putting that aside, is Mio helping Mother cook?" Makoto asked.

"Yes, after shopping, Mio and Mother immediately started preparing dinner," Yukiko replied casually.

Makoto then saw his father talking with Shiki.

"What are you two talking about?" Makoto asked.

"Oh, Makoto. We're discussing the situation in the Goddess's world," his father said.

"Are you curious about Kanaleon's condition, Father?" Makoto asked.

"Yes. Even though I've come to this world, I was born in the Kingdom of Kanaleon. That's why I can't help being curious about what has happened there," his father replied.

"As far as I know, the Kingdom of Kanaleon has been destroyed by the demon race. I don't know much beyond that," Makoto said.

"Shiki said the same thing. I didn't expect so many things to have happened in the Goddess's world," his father said with a sigh.

"Waka-sama, how about using Rembrandt's connections to investigate the Kingdom of Kanaleon?" Shiki suggested.

"Hm, Rembrandt isn't too busy right now. We can ask him to investigate. We can also train a new ninja unit to gather information from the Goddess's world," Makoto said.

"Waka, are you planning to create a new ninja unit?" Tomoe asked.

"Yes. Right now, there's only the unit led by Lime, and it has only ten members. Isn't that too few? We can also recruit new members while investigating the Goddess's world," Makoto replied.

"It seems we do need to recruit from the Goddess's world. The population of Eryndal is still too small," Tomoe said.

"We can discuss it later when we return to Eryndal. It seems Mio and Mother have finished preparing the food," Makoto said.

After having dinner together and talking about what they had done that day, Makoto and his followers excused themselves and returned to the hotel.
