Chapter 257 - After the Battle, A New Beginning

"Hmm?" Uchiha Hikae exchanged a surprised glance with Uchiha Setsuna, uncertain how Yuki Seisui even knew the names of these two forbidden techniques.

Though unsure, Setsuna still nodded. "Yes… these are the two jutsu."

"But these two jutsu carry severe side effects," Setsuna continued. "The cost is enormous, which is why they are forbidden. Yet in certain situations, their power is still extremely significant."

He sighed. "If there weren't so many extremists, we could have used Izanami directly to change their mindset."

"But the extremists are far too many," Setsuna added, "and using either of these two jutsu requires sacrificing a single three-tomoe Sharingan each time."

"Even if we consumed every three-tomoe in the clan, we still wouldn't be able to reform all of them."

Seisui was well aware of the implications. In fact, he probably understood these two jutsu even better than they did.

Izanagi was the ultimate Uchiha ocular jutsu. Sacrificing one's own three-tomoe Sharingan could activate it.

When used, Izanagi could rewrite reality for a short period, turning events that were unfavorable to the user into never having happened, while ensuring beneficial outcomes became reality.

The duration varied depending on the user's skill. However, the sacrificed eye would become blind, making it extremely dangerous.

Even if the user died during its activation, reality itself would bend, making them nearly invincible. A terrifying jutsu—and a forbidden Uchiha technique.

Seisui's knowledge came from observing someone like Danzo, as well as battles involving war criminals and Konan, where millions of explosive tags could not end the user's life.

The horror of Izanagi was evident.

Since its creation, many Uchiha had used Izanagi to reverse battlefield defeats or gain advantage in internal conflicts.

During that period, Uchiha infighting was extremely severe.

It was then that a talented Uchiha girl, witn essing the clan's turmoil, created a jutsu specifically to counter Izanagi: Izanami.

If Izanagi allowed one to escape reality and reverse death,

then Izanami forced the target to face reality.

This jutsu was initially designed to save the Uchiha from arrogance and negligence.

When the clan's internal strife reached a critical level, Izanami was born.

Like Izanagi, Izanami required a three-tomoe Sharingan as a sacrifice.

Once activated, the target would be trapped in a loop between the set beginning and end.

Only by truly accepting their destined outcome would the jutsu release; otherwise, they would remain trapped in an endless cycle, no matter how they acted or changed events.

It was a technique designed to guide people to confront reality instead of relying on jutsu to escape.

This technique would have suited Hyuga Neji perfectly.

However, because the user could set certain conditions for themselves and carve a path of survival, it was forbidden, just like Izanagi.

Setsuna's words left Hikae silent.

If the extremists had been few in number, they could have used Izanami to trap them in an endless loop, forcing acceptance of reality.

Looking at the two of them, Seisui remained silent for a moment before speaking, "Then… thank you."

With two three-tomoe Sharingan in his possession, along with Izanami's power, he essentially had two extra "revival coins."

They might not be needed immediately, but in certain situations, they could be invaluable.

Seisui carefully stored the two three-tomoe Sharingan and glanced at the surrounding black flames.

He was about to speak when he noticed the black flames creeping along the blood toward the bodies.

His expression changed immediately. "Quick! Extract their Sharingan!" he called.

"The Amaterasu black flames are spreading along the blood to the corpses!"

His words alerted everyone nearby, and their faces went pale.

Many extremists had died in this battle, including elite Uchiha with three-tomoe Sharingan, like Uchiha Renka.

Most of these extremists had activated their Sharingan, though many were only one- or two-tomoe, still valuable.

As for the three-tomoe, they could be preserved.

Upon Seisui's command, Hikae and Uchiha Fugaku rushed to the corpses partially or fully engulfed in black flames.

Bodies completely consumed by Amaterasu were left untouched, as Seisui had explained—the flames would not extinguish until everything was incinerated.

Fortunately, only a few corpses were fully engulfed. The rest, partially covered or near the flames, were collected.

Seeing them retrieve the Sharingan, Seisui did not assist, simply nodding and leaving.

Uchiha Haru did not follow him. She stayed behind with Setsuna and Hikae to comfort the surviving clan members.

After all, she was publicly the strongest Uchiha.

Seisui was not counted among them.

Carrying a vial containing the eyes, he walked straight out of the clan compound.

Outside, the heads of other clans and a group of jonin had gathered.

Sarutobi Hiruzen arrived slowly, unsurprised to see them outside the Uchiha lands.

Everything today had been prearranged with Hikae and Setsuna.

The Uchiha were cleansing extremists, and he fully supported it.

The plan was simple: Setsuna and Hikae would act while Sarutobi ensured no one interfered.

He knew there were risks—blocking reinforcements with the ANBU could make other clans think the Konoha leadership was acting against the Uchiha.

But he did it anyway.

Clearing the Uchiha extremists was more important than political optics.

As leader of the extremists, Setsuna leading the purge of his own faction made sense.

He had already placed the future of Konoha in Seisui's hands.

If he had hesitated because of the Uchiha, Seisui would never have been the successor in his mind.

Even without displaying the Mangekyo Sharingan.

And Uchiha Haru… well, she was his partner.

Seeing Sarutobi arrive, everyone greeted him, "Hokage-sama!"

"Hokage-sama! What happened in there?"

"Those must have been Mangekyo Sharingan!"

"When did the Uchiha get two pairs of Mangekyo?"

Their words echoed in Sarutobi's ears, and he smiled. "The fighting has stopped. Let's go see for ourselves."

"To be honest, I don't even know exactly what happened," he added.

The Hyuga clan leader frowned at this. "Hokage-sama, what about the ANBU—?"

Sarutobi glanced at him, still patient with the Hyuga clan leader.
