Chapter 258 - The Eyes of Trust

"This… this was Seisui's doing."

Everyone stared in silence.

Are you kidding me?

Without your permission, how could Yuki Seisui possibly mobilize the ANBU?

And yet you claim it was your order, but now you're saying this whole thing was Seisui's doing?

Despite the confusion, no one dared to contradict him under all eyes.

Just as everyone was preparing to follow Sarutobi Hiruzen inside to see what had happened, Seisui emerged holding two jars.

The night was pitch-black, and there was no light around, only the pale moon casting a faint glow on the ground.

For a moment, no one could see what Seisui was carrying in the jars.

Curiosity stirred—why was he holding two jars?

Most people reacted this way, but some were sharper-eyed.

The Hyuga clan, for instance.

Their Byakugan allowed them to clearly see, even in the darkness, the two three-tomoe Sharingan inside Seisui's jars.

Seeing Seisui emerge, Sarutobi Hiruzen walked over, inhaled deeply, and glanced at his eyes. He spoke with a hint of double meaning, "So… how did it go?"

Seisui shook his head slightly, understanding he was being asked both about his eyes and what had happened inside.

"No major issues."

Hearing this, Sarutobi finally exhaled and smiled.

From this day forward, the Uchiha clan would no longer be the Uchiha of the past.

The extremists in the Uchiha were gone.

At least… mostly. Sarutobi thought for a moment, shaking his head. Uchiha Setsuna remained the ultimate extremist.

After assuring Sarutobi that there were no problems, Seisui turned to the others, who had followed behind.

Before Seisui could speak, the clan leader of the Inuzuka at the front gasped.

His action seemed contagious, as a ripple of startled breaths spread through the surrounding people.

They had seen the Sharingan in Seisui's hands.

Noticing the reactions behind him, Sarutobi lowered his head slightly, seeing the two Sharingan in the jars as well.

He was equally shocked.

When Seisui first appeared, Sarutobi had been focused on his eyes, worried about vision or ocular power deterioration from using Susanoo, and had not noticed the Sharingan in the jars.

Sharingan… in his hands? Sarutobi thought, frowning with concern.

The Uchiha managed their Sharingan strictly.

Anyone who dared take a Sharingan would be torn apart like a mad dog—no exceptions.

Yet Seisui was holding two of them, casually appearing before everyone.

Sarutobi was uneasy—not because Seisui shouldn't have taken them, but because of how openly he displayed them.

With his skill, Seisui could have taken a few eyes in secret without issue.

Now, showing them in front of everyone would inevitably reach the ears of the Uchiha.

Once discovered, even weaker Uchiha would charge at him like rabid dogs.

Seeing their reactions, Seisui smiled. "Don't react like that."

"These two Sharingan were gifts from Clan Leader Hikae and Elder Setsuna," he said.

"They also entrusted me with two jutsu as a reward." Seisui looked toward Sarutobi as he spoke.

Sarutobi recalled what his teacher, the Second Hokage Tobirama Senju, had once told him.

Both Uchiha forbidden jutsu, Izanagi and Izanami, required a three-tomoe Sharingan as a cost.

Good… at least he didn't take them in secret.

He relaxed and looked at Seisui with renewed approval.

This is what it means to inherit the Will of Fire.

Open and honest, never hiding anything in front of me.

He openly received two three-tomoe Sharingan and the Uchiha's forbidden jutsu, and even told me.

Seisui's words stirred excitement among the surrounding ninja.

The idea that the Uchiha would give Sharingan as a gift!

I want that too!

Most of those eager were ordinary ninja or from smaller clans unfamiliar with the Uchiha.

The leaders of the great clans, however, fell silent.

Their clans' records included information about the Uchiha since the Warring States period, including the two forbidden jutsu.

Giving Seisui two three-tomoe Sharingan and two jutsu?

Anyone with a little sense would know these must be Izanagi and Izanami.

Seeing the crowd silent, Seisui continued. "Are you all going in?"

"Yes… let's see."

Sarutobi nodded. From the moment Seisui said there were no major problems, he had already guessed what had happened inside.

Yet, to prevent rumors, he would bring people in to verify.

Hearing this, Seisui nodded, then glanced at Sarutobi and the gathered clan leaders, hearing their earlier comments.

"The Hokage-sama instructed me that if action was taken, no one should enter," Seisui said.

Everyone froze.

They had thought Sarutobi had been bluffing.

Now Seisui confirmed it.

Seisui glanced at Sarutobi again. "I released the Mangekyo Sharingan techniques inside. You'd better not go in until the black flames finish burning."

"If you must enter, do not touch the flames."

"Once touched, they burn like bone maggots—they won't stop until everything is incinerated."

Seisui helped explain for Sarutobi, the old man being generous and fair.

Everyone swallowed hard at his words.

Bone maggots? Completely burning everything?

This fire is terrifying!
