Harold's point of view
Tears spilled over my eyelids against my will, every defense I had crumbling to dust before the horrifying reality unfolding in front of me. I squeezed my eyes shut for an agonizing second, bowing my head as the bitter, suffocating weight of absolute helplessness flooded my throat.
I was trapped between two choices: speak the truth to Robert, or watch my wife's lifeless body bleed out onto the cold kitchen tiles.
I opened my eyes slowly, my arms dropping limply to my sides in a posture of total surrender. I took a slow breath, letting my shoulders cave in as my voice dropped into a broken, raspy whisper.
"Okay, Miley... Okay." I swallowed the bitter metallic taste in my mouth. "You win... I won't tell a soul."
