Chapter 38 - The Narrowing Gap

Outside the palace, the emperor was dressed in his robes, wearing golden armour. His shoulder-length hair was tied in a bun, his face was invisible as he put on a golden mask, and the air around him carried grace.

He was greeted by about fifty soldiers who were kneeling. He dismissed them and turned to Arthur. "I will be back tomorrow, so take care of everything. We also need to resume the party after I return," he said, mounting his white, majestic-looking horse. "Hiyaa!" he said, nudging the horse as it took off, almost flying.

As they left the palace and neared the city, the emperor for the first time felt knots in his stomach. He wondered how she would react the moment she saw him. Would she be angry?" he asked himself. He also wondered what he was going to tell her when he found her. He was so busy pursuing her that he had no idea what he would tell her when he met her face-to-face
