Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 My Words Are Very Effective

"I told you, I'm a sorcerer. Don't always try to explain me with your science," Finney Hellseg corrected him, dissatisfied.

Tony remained silent in the air. Of course, he hadn't been idle during this time, but no matter how he investigated, he couldn't detect anything wrong with Finney.

He had even hacked into the hospital's system and checked Finney's birth certificate, which was enough to prove that he was a pure Earthling, indicating that what Finney said might be true.

But the idea of a sorcerer gave him a strange sense of absurdity after years of scientific research.

He thought he was prepared to make up for his past mistakes, but Finney's appearance clearly showed that this world was more dangerous than he thought.

Finney looked at the current Mark II, which bypassed the original Mark II and directly took shape as the original Mark III, and asked, "So, you called just to let me know you can fly?"

Tony didn't want to speak, although he did have that thought in his heart, but he obviously couldn't admit it now. In fact, there was another reason: he felt that the armor was a success and he was confident, so he wanted to probe Finney's background again, which was why he made the call.

But the result now is clearly the same as what happened to Finney back then—a bit of a blunder.

  Duh, he can fly too!

"Want to race?" Tony tried to change the subject, looking at Finney provocatively.

"We mages open portals, we don't care about speed!"

Finney tossed his head, using a disdainful tone to mask his unease, silently strengthening his resolve to practice flying, and setting a small goal: to surpass the Mark II first.

But Tony, true to his nature, even if he couldn't fathom Finney's unease, still retorted.

"Trickster kid, you clearly don't understand the thrill of flight. Speed is what gives you excitement, understand?"

With that, Tony increased his power, accelerating past Finney in a flash, disappearing into the night.

A few seconds later, he returned, trailing a long plume of flame, and boasted, "That's what you call speed!"

  "That's it!?"

Although Finney was incredibly envious, he couldn't lose face, so he said in a flat tone, "It's not that fast, just a little faster than a fighter jet."

Hearing this, Tony, who had been excited, was immediately disappointed. He looked at Finney and said, "Shall we go down and chat?"

Finney, who was about to say goodbye, paused slightly, then nodded without thinking much. He also wanted to know if his participation had brought any changes to Tony.

The two began to descend together. The competitive Tony obviously had no intention of waiting for anyone, and he directly charged down, his long plume of flame trailing behind him. Finney almost opened a portal to cheat.

But considering that such a victory was unfair, Tony wouldn't accept it, and in the end, he slowly flew down.

At this moment, Tony was already sitting in the courtyard of the villa, with his legs crossed, holding a glass of wine in his hand, his mask off, looking like a big shot.

"I almost thought you were lost, and I was considering whether to go look for you."

Tony continued his usual verbal 'attack' on Finney, pointing to the liquor cabinet not far away. "Help yourself with whatever you want to drink. I don't usually pour drinks for others."

Finney didn't mind and walked towards the cabinet. After a few encounters, he was actually starting to get used to Tony's personality.

He casually dispelled the 'Possessed by Evil Spirits' and returned to normal. He looked at the cabinet; it seemed to be full of high-end liquors, though he didn't recognize most of them.

He randomly picked a low-alcohol bottle, took the bottle and glass, sat down next to Tony, poured a glass, and toasted him: "Come on, a toast to the Shit-Big-Kids Armor!?"

"I thought about it, and you seem to be still a minor. Maybe you shouldn't drink. Next time I'll prepare some milk. Also, how exactly did you deactivate the storage mechanism in your armor?"

"…"      Finney ignored him and took a sip. The rich and spicy flavor filled his mouth, making him slightly uncomfortable. So he put down his glass and replied, "This is magic. You don't understand. It's the power of the mind, spiritual power. It's hard for you to explain it to me with your level of understanding."

"Lend me your armor for a few days, and I promise I'll explain it to you clearly," Tony said, trying to provoke him.

  "You're dreaming!"

Finney lending out 'Possessed by Evil Spirits' for research was harder than dragging him out for research.

"Stingy boy, you're definitely not popular with girls." Tony sipped his drink unhappily, though the armored state made him feel a little uncomfortable.

"I was the school heartthrob at school, how could no one like me!?"

"I slept with cover girls for twelve months last year, including a pair of twins! What about you?"

Now it was Finney's turn to be unhappy. He opened his mouth, but ultimately had no words to say, and could only angrily pick up his glass and gulp down his drink.

As the saying goes, true happiness is often built on the suffering of others. Seeing Finney's depressed expression, Tony laughed heartily and took a celebratory sip of his drink.

The two began to chat, Tony recounting his experiences with changing girlfriends, and Finney occasionally offering his opinions.

Unbeknownst to Finney, Tony was incredibly lonely at this moment. Months ago, he lost a friend who had saved his life. After a difficult return, his first decision was met with universal criticism and doubt.

Even when he wanted to invite his best friend to help him build the suit, she refused. Aside from his closest confidante, Pepper Potts, he trusted almost no one.

Pepper Potts, however, couldn't understand his actions either, only trying to understand him out of a sense of obligation.

Since Ethan's death, Tony believed his purpose in life was to do something for the world, and the Iron Man suit gave him purpose and hope.

But just as he was about to unleash his power, Finney suddenly appeared.

Mysterious and enigmatic, with incomprehensible abilities, he initially seemed ill-intentioned, but after his disguise was exposed, he frankly apologized and offered his assistance.

Coupled with his relatively young age, carefree personality, and inexplicable understanding of him, Tony simply couldn't ignore his presence.

That's why, after creating the armor, when his joy couldn't be expressed, he made that phone call. Perhaps he hadn't even thought about what to say; he just wanted someone to know he had succeeded.

Tony didn't know if what he did was right, but like his family tradition, he did it first and thought later. Even if it was wrong, he felt capable of correcting it.

"Could you tell me about your... um... magic troupe!?"

After chatting for a while, Tony still couldn't fully relax and asked Finney, holding his wine glass.

"We are arcane mages, an organized group, and watch your mouth, our boss is very powerful." Seeing Tony's disrespect for the profession, Finney decided to intimidate him slightly:

"He's my teacher, known as the Sorcerer Supreme, who possesses the arcane arts of time and can predict the future."

"So you can do that too!?" Tony clearly wasn't so easily convinced, especially by something as scientifically unscientific as the future. He raised an eyebrow and said, "Then predict what I want to drink next?"

"I can't yet, but my predictions are very accurate."

Finney took a sip of his drink, thinking about how to mess with Tony.
