Nora's POV
"There has to be a way to fight back. I just need to find it." I press my palm against his bare stomach, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath my touch.
"What about your spellbook? Could there be something useful in there?"
"Nothing in mine," I answer. "But the Academy library might have what we need." I bolt upright suddenly. "Would you watch over my body while I astral project there?"
"You can actually do that?"
A grin spreads across my face. "Seems like I still have a few surprises left for you. And yes, I can. My familiars will sense for any spiritual interference and pull me back if needed. But I need you to protect my physical form while I'm gone."
James's expression hardens with concern. "Are you certain this is safe?"
"Absolutely. I've been meaning to search through those books anyway. The Academy has this incredible library that spans two floors, filled with the most amazing scent of aged parchment and fresh ink."
