Chapter 83 - Chapter 83 Power Within

Nora's POV

Every inch of my body screams in agony.

My eyes feel like they're on fire. Each breath scrapes through my throat like sandpaper. My skull pounds where something struck me, and thick ropes bite into my wrists and ankles, securing me to what feels like a wooden chair. Darkness surrounds me completely, but the air carries a musty, damp scent that suggests I'm trapped in some kind of basement or underground space.

I force my burning eyes shut, hoping the pain will subside. My breathing comes in harsh, uneven gasps, and I can't focus enough to reach out to Mack telepathically. Even if he could hear me from wherever the hell I am.

Because I have absolutely no clue where they've taken me.

Testing the restraints only makes them cut deeper into my skin.

Whoever bound me like this clearly has experience. I close my eyes and try to mentally map the knots. If I can understand their pattern, maybe I can use telekinesis to work them loose.

"I would not recommend attempting that."
