Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"HAAA!!!"

I sighed happily.

I finally took my fingers off my computer keyboard.

I had just finished a game I had bought a short time ago.

I was really happy to have finished this game.

Dragon Quest 5 was the name of the game, and I was determined to remember the name. The animation was ugly, but the story was just ma-gni-fi-cent. I was so happy when the hero finally defeated the demon king, but my favorite part was definitely his wedding to his beloved and raising their children. I suddenly wondered what it was like to be a father, but I quickly pushed that thought out of my mind.

I gathered my thoughts before turning to look at the time on the clock hanging on the wall.

"Damn... 6:12 a.m., I have class in an hour."

I turned off my computer before getting up to go to the bathroom.

I yawned loudly as I walked to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror.

I looked pretty good for someone who had gotten up at 2 a.m. to finish a video game. I splashed cold water on my face to wake myself up, then took a cold shower before drying off and looking at myself in the mirror one last time.

At least I looked presentable, my blonde hair tied back in a ponytail and my green eyes giving me a classy look.

Well, I had to hurry, I'm doing my residency at Sun Hospital.

It's my last year of study and I'll finally be a cardiologist.

I picked up the pace and quickly put on a clean black shirt, brown pants with a black belt, white shoes, and my doctor's coat.

I couldn't afford to be late. How could I explain to my professor that I was late because I was playing games? And I'm supposed to be 29 years old.

Sighing at the irony of my situation, I grabbed my bag and my things.

Today was going to be a long day.

I hated the idea of leaving my cozy home to go to work, but I had patients waiting for me at the hospital. I couldn't abandon them, but if I could, I would.

Professional conscience is definitely extremely annoying.

I took my car and sped off to work. Fortunately, the traffic was much smoother and faster than usual, otherwise I would have been in big trouble.

I arrived at the hospital in no time and parked my car in the parking lot.

The hospital was really beautiful and huge. It was a renowned hospital where I had struggled to get my internship, but also my final year of study before becoming a cardiologist. Finally, after years of study, I could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I walked slowly through the hospital garden, looking at the beautiful flowers and trees that were blooming in the mild spring weather.

It's my favorite place in the hospital.

I entered the hospital, which I found to be quite luxurious. Maybe I'll work there one day.

This hospital is very well-known and has a great reputation, which is why I wanted to do my internship here.

I walked quietly as usual, approaching the secretary who was at her desk, as she was every morning, well before me.

"Hi, Leon,"

she said cheerfully.

"Well, miss, you seem to be in a good mood,"

I remarked with a smile.

"I'll correct you there. I'll soon be Mrs.

She said before blushing.

"I didn't see that one coming.

I said, quite shocked.

"Well! Don't wait for me to tell you to congratulate me!

She suddenly complained.

I already felt sorry for her future husband for having to live with her. Women can be really annoying sometimes.

"My sincerest congratulations!"

I replied with a sigh.

I looked at her one last time. She had bright blue eyes, beautiful short brown hair that was smooth and well-styled, and a beautiful, sweet, adorable face. She had a generous body and endless legs that men adore. Her husband was going to be spoiled for sure, I envied him a little.

"Ah! I almost forgot, here's what you have to do today. This is the file of the patient you have to take care of!"

She said, handing me a file.

I was quite skeptical. I thought I had to be accompanied by my professor for this kind of thing.

"What's that look on your face? You're the valedictorian of the best medical school in the country, and you've been supervised by one of the best cardiologists in the country. You should be able to handle this on your own now!"

she scolded me energetically.

I bet it's just work they don't want to do and they're passing it off to me, real jerks, I swear.

"By the way, what we're asking you to do here is to provide psychological follow-up for the patient and nothing else! You're the best at that, we know you well!"

She said seriously.

I was shocked. I'm supposed to be a cardiologist, what am I doing with psychology here?

I took the file while listening to her mumble. Why did I have to take care of a patient's psychological follow-up? Isn't that a psychologist's job? I'm supposed to become a cardiologist. She didn't smoke before giving me that, did she? I have my doubts about that.

"Which room is it in?

I asked her rather impatiently.

"43, building .

She told me before waving goodbye.

I was quite surprised that they sent me to take care of someone on my own so early, but hey, it's much quieter that way.

I rushed to building G to see "my patient."
