Jett stared at the screen like it might disappear if he blinked.
Jamie:
What?
That single word did far more damage than it should've. His smile came easy, unguarded, the tension in his shoulders loosening for the first time all night.
Jett:
Did I wake you?
Jamie's hand paused mid writing as his phone vibrated again. He checked and saw it was Jett, again. He bit his lip and gazed at the plain wall. He told himself he only replied to the previous text because it would've been rude not to.
That was a lie, a big, fat one.
After pondering for some seconds, he finally sat back on his study chair and texted back.
Jamie:
No.
Jett, on the other side was already out of the boxing club and on his way to his car.
Jett:
Okay, are you doing something? Or you're just a night bird?
Jamie scoffed as the text appeared on his screen. "Now he's asking questions?" He said to himself and typed back immediately.
Jamie:
Assignments.
