Following Bastian's announcement of the second-stage challenge, unease permeated the group. Many participants felt deceived and anxious, exchanging anxious looks, while Bastian kept it cool and continued as though nothing unusual had occurred.
"If you don't want to fight, leave. You need us, not the other way around," Bastian said composedly.
Looking disheartened and defeated, the two from the Wyatt team quickly left the hall, believing it was hopeless to challenge Wyatt and Amelia, whose confidence only deepened their own discouragement.
"Teacher, we're backing out of this exam," they said and left.
"Any more people want to back off? It's not a shame to back off now, you try your best already, maybe this place is not for you," Bastian said to all the applicants after seeing the two walk away.
In response to Bastian's remarks, ten more applicants from another team withdrew from the examination.
"We now have thirty-eight applicants remaining: eight teams of four and two teams of three," Bastian announced after completing the count.
After two hours had passed and every team had competed, only Team Wyatt remained.
"The final round today is Amelia versus Daigo versus Wyatt. The last person standing will be automatically accepted into the academy," Bastian announced enthusiastically.
"After waiting for hours, finally, I get to fight someone!" Wyatt was visibly excited, as he naturally enjoyed combat.
"Daigo, how about we work together to eliminate Wyatt first, then compete against each other afterwards? Wyatt is extremely strong; his muscles are as hard as rock." Amelia proposed this strategy to Daigo before the fight started.
Daigo agreed and outlined a plan to beat Wyatt.
"Good idea. Wyatt is physically strong, but that is his only advantage over us."
"Your magic spell can certainly knock him out if it lands, but it will be difficult to hit him if he continues moving as he did in stage one."
"That is why I will lure him to attack me while you prepare your magic enchantment."
"Then I will paralyze him with my electric wave. After that, you can strike him with your powerful magic spell," Daigo explained to Amelia before the match.
Amelia was impressed by Daigo's strategic plan.
"Wow, Daigo, you really have a clever brain in fighting." She complimented him.
Bastian called the participants to prepare for the match.
"Amelia, Daigo, and Wyatt, prepare for your match. Please warm up beforehand to prevent injury," Bastian instructed.
"Ready And Fight"
The match began with Wyatt moving energetically around the hall, showing his apparent boundless stamina as he declared:
"You two better be ready, because I'm coming hot for you!"
"Just follow the plan, and we will succeed," Daigo instructed.
"For now, we just have to run around to evade being caught by him."
"When I say 'go,' begin your enchantment," Daigo shouted to Amelia, determined to execute their plan successfully.
However, this task proved challenging for Daigo. Despite his rigorous preparation, he could not match Wyatt's extraordinary physical strength.
"Daigo, come fight me, stop running away!" Wyatt shouts at Daigo in frustration.
Suddenly, Daigo stopped running and shouted,
"GO!" After Daigo shouted, he then hit Wyatt with his electric wave.
"Damn you two!" Wyatt said before he was hit by Daigo's electric wave.
Amelia quickly began her magic enchantment,
"BY THE LUNG OF THE SKY AND THE EYE OF THE STORM, I CALL UPON THE GOD OF WIND TO LEND ME POWER, DRAGON BREEZE!" Amelia points his right hand at Wyatt before releasing her magic.
Amelia's magic spell struck Wyatt directly in his chest.
Observers were astonished by the effective collaboration between Daigo and Amelia in their attempt to defeat Wyatt, the top-ranked eliminator.
"There is no way he will get up after being struck by that," one observer remarked, as everyone assumed Wyatt was defeated and unconscious.
However, this was not the case. Wyatt, though severely injured by Amelia's magic spell, responded:
"That hurt. Thankfully, my body can withstand it." Wyatt said when he was still in agony.
Everyone was astonished that Wyatt could survive such a powerful spell from Amelia.
"You've got to be kidding me! How can that kid withstand that power after being hit clean without being unconscious?" Bastian mumbling to himself with a pure, shocked expression.
However, Daigo and Amelia were the most shocked, standing in dumbfounded shock as they watched Wyatt rise after being struck by her magic spell.
"How! He is not a human; he is a monster!" Daigo said to himself after witnessing Wyatt standing up.
"Impossible! That should have had him knocked out!"
After witnessing Wyatt rising despite her attack, Amelia began recalling painful memories of her father.
{"No.. I'm sorry, Dad."}
{"I promise not to disappoint you again,"}
{"Don't leave me here, please, it's so dark in here I'm scared."}
["How can you be my daughter?" Her father said with a disgusting face.]
While Amelia was caught up in her memories, Wyatt began advancing toward her.
"Amelia De Marat, your power is exceptional. I cannot believe someone as young as seventeen possesses such strength. Unfortunately, you must face me. I am your weakness!" Wyatt declared, stepping toward Amelia.
"Amelia, run!" You have to run!" Daigo shouted from a distance.
However, she remained lost in memories of her father.
"ONE KICK, NOVA STRIKE!" Wyatt uses his most decisive move on Amelia.
From a distance, Daigo sprinted toward Amelia in an attempt to save her, but it appeared to be too late as Wyatt was already about to launch his kick.
"Please let me save her! Run! Run! Run!" Daigo screams to himself,
Suddenly, Daigo's feet moved with a spark of flash, and his body felt more agile. He began to move at superhuman speed, allowing him to close the distance and reach Wyatt before the kick could land.
Daigo then cast his power while screaming,
"ELECTRIC WAVE!"
After Daigo cast his power, a lightning-like strike appeared to emanate from his hand.
Without him knowing, this is not his normal electric wave; it's ten times or a hundred times more powerful than his normal one.
Wyatt got hit by Daigo's magic before he could land his kick.
Everyone was stunned by the magnitude of Daigo's electric power, especially Bastian.
"How did that kid have that powerful electric magic?"
"Finally, I found the one!" Bastian was in joy after discovering that strong electric users exist in this world.
After striking Wyatt with his power, Daigo quickly grabbed Amelia and moved her to safety, unaware of the full extent of his actions.
"Amelia, are you alright?" Daigo asked, gently shaking her.
"Ah... Oh, it's you, Daigo. What is happening to me? The last thing I remember is casting my magic spell on Wyatt and—wait, where is Wyatt?" Amelia asked, clearly confused.
After all that, Bastian stopped the match and said,
"The winner for the ten-match is Daigo Kaminari!"
Daigo was initially confused when he was declared the winner, but when he looked over his shoulder, he saw Wyatt unconscious, being carried out of the hall by medical staff.
"How is Wyatt so badly injured? I only struck him with my weak electric wave," Daigo said, perplexed.
Then Bastian said;
"What you did there is not a normal electric wave; that's something else that I've never seen before," with a tiny smile.
"What do you mean?" Said Daigo.
After Daigo heard what Bastian said, he was confused for a second, then he asked him a question.
"But sir, why did you declare me the winner when Amelia was still in the match?" Daigo asked Bastian, visibly confused.
"When she stopped moving and stood still, even as Wyatt charged at her, I considered her unconscious and declared her losing," Bastian stated sternly.
After all that, Bastian said to Daigo;
"Daigo Kaminari, you are now officially a student in the Noveum Academy."
Even after learning he had won the match, Daigo did not realize he had been admitted to the Noveum Academy until Bastian explicitly informed him.
"Finally, all my hard work has paid off. Dad, I made it," Daigo murmured to himself, his look reflecting quiet happiness and tears.
Daigo was now one step closer to achieving his dream of becoming the next King of Power.
