Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Red With Rage

Chapter 35: Red With Rage

Upon hearing the news, King was a bit surprised.

Although Saitama and Tatsumaki did fight in the original story, that happened much later in the series. Why was it happening so early now?

After thinking for two seconds, King understood.

It's mostly because of me. Saitama probably got targeted by an enraged Tatsumaki because of his association with me, and got dragged off to fight.

However, rather than worrying about whether the Caped Baldy will be okay, I should be worried about whether Tatsumaki will pass out from psychic exhaustion again.

Sitch was still waiting for King's response on the phone. All he heard from the other end was a calm statement:

"Just be prepared. Arrange for medical personnel to bring her back. She'll probably be unconscious for a while again."

Sitch subconsciously assumed King was referring to Caped Baldy, but then he noticed a specific word in the sentence.

"Again?"

Could it be...

His eyes widened instantly as an unbelievable hypothesis slowly formed in his mind.

To verify his guess, Sitch asked cautiously:

"Mr. King, may I ask who exactly is the person needing rescue you refer to?"

"Tatsumaki, of course. Saitama's strength is not inferior to mine."

This sentence, broadcast over speakerphone, echoed through the entire control room.

The staff members looked at each other in shock. They had just seen Saitama. His simple art style and shiny egg-head gave off a "plastic NPC" vibe.

Yet, the Strongest Man on Earth, whom they revered, personally admitted that this newly born S-Class hero was his equal?!

People subconsciously felt it was absurd, yet somehow, inexplicably reasonable.

Because... those were words spoken by King, the Strongest Man on Earth.

In the Sky.

Saitama flailed his limbs, enjoying the novel sensation of flight.

But at the same time, he clutched one arm tightly to his chest. In his embrace were the discount goods he had just bought from the supermarket. He didn't want these hard-earned treasures ruined by a child's tantrum.

Noticing that Saitama cared more about a plastic bag than her, Tatsumaki felt slighted. Her expression grew even colder.

"Caped Baldy... it's unbelievable. You still haven't realized the severity of your situation. Drop that bag of trash!"

Saying this, Tatsumaki concentrated her psychokinesis on Saitama's arms, trying to forcibly pry them open and throw away the bag of unknown items.

Realizing that this green-haired brat wanted to throw away his discount goods, Saitama instantly panicked. With a slight flex of strength, he shattered the psychic energy binding him.

"Hey hey hey! You kids just don't understand frugality! These are treasures! How can you just throw them away?!"

Having broken free from the telekinesis, Saitama lost his lift and plummeted straight toward the ground.

Feeling her psychic hold completely shattered in an instant, Tatsumaki froze in mid-air, her large green eyes filled with disbelief.

Are you kidding me?! It's one thing for that Scarface, the Strongest Man on Earth, to break free. But why can this average-looking baldy break my psychokinesis too?!

Tatsumaki's confidence wavered slightly.

In just a few short days, she had encountered two people who could easily break her psychic restraints.

Before this, even Dragon-level monsters capable of causing major disasters couldn't move an inch under her power. They could only be crushed into meat paste.

An unprecedented sense of humiliation washed over her. Tatsumaki screamed furiously in the air, pouring out majestic psychic power toward the falling Saitama.

"You damn bald man! Unwanted trash! A loser who will never grow hair in this lifetime! An idiot who will always look like a boiled egg!"

A string of insults. Perhaps not very damaging to a normal person, but every single one was a critical hit against Saitama.

With every sentence, Saitama's face grew darker.

Until the final insult landed. A vein finally popped on Saitama's forehead, and his fist slowly clenched.

"I think that name the Hero Association gave you, 'Caped Baldy,' fits you perfectly! Not only are you an ugly baldy, but what is up with that ridiculous cape and yellow jumpsuit? It's hilarious!"

While Tatsumaki continued her mockery, the surging psychic power had already surrounded Saitama, wrapping him in a deep green glow.

What an idiot... surrounded by my psychokinesis without even realizing it... and you want to be an S-Class hero?!

With a thought, Tatsumaki turned her vast psychic power into infinite ropes, instantly binding Saitama where he stood, intending to drag him into the air to torture him properly.

With the explosion of psychic force, the ground beneath Saitama's feet shattered instantly. Layers of spiderweb cracks covered the surface, spreading for kilometers.

Tatsumaki was dumbfounded.

Why...

She exerted force again. Countless psychic ropes pulled taut in the void, but they couldn't lift that thin human body off the ground.

For some reason, this scene gave Tatsumaki a sense of déjà vu.

Ah, I remember.

The last person who resisted my psychokinesis with such ease was that Scarface from two days ago.

Tatsumaki gritted her teeth, continuously pouring power into her pull. The ground for kilometers around had been reduced to dust; trees and boulders were floating into the sky.

But even so, the bald man in the yellow jumpsuit was like a nail driven deep into the earth's core. No matter how hard she pulled, she couldn't budge him.

Just then, Saitama raised his hand and casually slapped the empty air.

SMACK.

The space around him twisted and deformed, shattered by the sheer force.

He simply rolled his shoulders, and the psychic ropes binding him snapped effortlessly, as if they were made of cheap plastic.

Saitama's face had now become sharp and angular. Even his doodle-like eyes had turned serious and fierce.

"Listen here, brat. Today I'm going to teach you what it means to respect others. Insulting nicknames are prohibited!"

That's right. Saitama was Red With Rage.
