Chapter 48 - Chapter 48 – Authority Recognized

The heavy door closed behind them.

Inside the room sat four people already waiting.

At the center was Major General Joshua, Head of the Z City Army Base—his posture rigid, presence commanding.

To his right sat the Elite Unit Commander, sharp-eyed and battle-hardened.

Next to him was the Head of Cyber Security, calm but observant.

And beside them sat a young woman—poised, confident, unmistakably intelligent, elegant.

Lana and Luna stepped forward and gave formal introductions.

"This is PK," Lana said.

"And this is Selene Joshuava," Luna added, gesturing toward the young woman. "General Joshua's daughter."

All seven of them took their seats.

The discussion began immediately.

The General studied PK for a long moment before speaking.

"I did not expect Mr. Fool to be this young," he said evenly. "Nor did I expect someone of your age to possess that level of technical depth—and composure—especially after winning an international competition."

He stood up slowly, placing both hands on the table.

"And more importantly," he continued, his tone grave, "thank you for defending our systems. Had that breach succeeded, the consequences would have been… catastrophic."

PK did not hesitate.

He stood as well, straight-backed, calm, eyes steady.

"It was my duty," he said clearly. "Protecting my country does not require permission—or praise."

The room shifted.

The commanders exchanged brief glances.

Approval—unspoken, but evident.

Before the General could respond, a voice cut in.

Selene leaned back slightly, arms crossed, her expression dismissive.

"He's just a hacker," she said coolly. "All he did was install some protection layers. Why are we acting like he's some kind of hero?"

The temperature in the room dropped.

The General turned his head sharply toward her.

"Selene," he said. Just her name—but it carried weight.

She fell silent immediately.

Before the pause could stretch further, PK spoke.

His voice was calm. Controlled. Dangerous in its precision.

"If it was mere protection," he said, eyes locking onto Selene without hesitation,

"then why didn't you do it yourself?"

Silence.

Absolute silence.

No one moved. No one spoke.

Even Lana and Luna froze—this was the first time they had seen PK confront someone so directly, without courtesy, without fear.

Selene stiffened, clearly unprepared. Confidence faltered for just a fraction of a second.

The Elite Commander exhaled slowly.

The Security Head lowered his gaze, hiding a faint smile.

The General looked at PK—not as a student, not as a hacker—

—but as an equal.

For the first time since the meeting began, he smiled.

And in that room, it became clear to everyone present:

Mr. Fool was not here to impress.

He was here because he belonged.
