Chapter 27 - A DECISION THAT WAS NEVER TRULY SMALL

That night, a light rain fell along the road leading to Selena's apartment. It wasn't heavy or dramatic, just enough to make the city lights reflect softly on the wet asphalt, giving the night a quieter feel than usual.

Julian's car came to a stop right in front of the lobby. He turned off the engine but didn't get out immediately. His hands remained on the steering wheel, his jaw clenched, his breathing uneven. He stared straight ahead, as if hoping for a reason, any reason, to change his mind.

There was none.

He knew coming here was a decision that could complicate everything. And yet, that was exactly why he felt he had to do it.

Julian finally opened the car door and stepped into the building he knew far too well, a place that had once felt like home.
