This is a brief history of the protagonist of the story, Adam.
Adam was raised by a single mother.
Obviously, he wasn't raised with a silver spoon, but when he was nine, catastrophe struck.
A rift breach occurred in their sector (city), and to save his life, Adam's mother sacrificed herself.
This was possible because of a substance in the world called Dead Mana, a substance possessed by a few people.
It doesn't have any combat-related qualities. However, monsters despise the stuff and cannot go close to an area where it is present.
But there is only one way to release this Dead Mana, and it is by committing suic*de.
So, imagine a nine-year-old who witnessed such a thing.
