Chapter 104 - Chapter 104: The Tide is Coming — Snow Girl Shows Her Power

After accepting the Four-Star District Team mission, Mu Nianbing didn't immediately lead everyone to hunt demons.

The Blue Valley Ferocious Li Beast they had hunted earlier was already counted toward the team's upgrade experience.

From Chief Pang Lai, they learned that Sea Battle City would experience a Great Tide three days later.

Therefore, Mu Nianbing decided to let everyone rest for a while, and then go on a large-scale hunt once the tide arrived.

Jiang Shaoxu was naturally overjoyed. If Mu Ningxue hadn't been present, she might have given Mu Nianbing a fragrant kiss out of gratitude.

During those three days, Mu Nianbing either cultivated quietly in the hotel or accompanied Mu Ningxue while she shopped in Tokyo.

After this period of cultivation, Mu Nianbing's Ice Element was getting closer and closer to Advanced-level perfection.

Time passed quickly, and soon, the day of the Great Tide arrived.

At the request of the Tokyo Magic Association, Mu Nianbing led the National Team to the designated district.

"This is the Great Tide! There are sea monsters everywhere under that tide. If our first training mission is already this dangerous, I can't imagine what the next ones will be like."

Zhao Manyan complained with a face full of resentment. If it weren't for his dream of glory, he really would have wanted to quit the team.

The Great Tide was practically a small-scale war zone. Even Advanced Mages couldn't guarantee their safety—let alone Middle-level Mages.

"I gave you three days off to break through to the Advanced-level," Mu Nianbing said with a slight sigh. "I didn't expect only Nan Jue to succeed."

His tone carried a hint of disappointment.

Although newly advanced Mages couldn't yet cast Advanced-level spells, their control and magic power far surpassed Middle-level Mages.

Nan Jue wasn't surprised. With Mu Nianbing's cultivation, it was natural that he could sense her breakthrough immediately.

"Uh… how can this bottleneck be so easy to break through…" Zhao Manyan muttered awkwardly.

He had already received four Star River Veins from his family but still hadn't gathered the confidence to make the breakthrough.

The Zhao Family had poured in enormous resources just to ensure his position on the National Team.

Mu Nianbing waved his hand. "Forget it. Those who haven't reached Advanced-level yet—form groups of two or three.

When the Great Tide hits, your main task will be clearing the nearby sea demons. Leave the rest to me."

Even without their help, he could easily complete the mission.

But since this was a training exercise, he wasn't there to babysit anyone. Everyone needed real combat experience.

Ai Jiangtu and the others had no objections to this battle plan.

"Contract Summon!"

After assigning the formation, Mu Nianbing summoned his contracted creature.

A flash of icy blue light appeared, and a delicate figure slowly materialized — Little Snow Girl.

Since this was a water battle, she was the perfect weapon.

Except for Mu Ningxue, everyone else was seeing Little Snow Girl for the first time.

None of them expected such a beautiful Ice Spirit to be Mu Nianbing's contracted creature.

"Captain, she's so beautiful! Why didn't you summon her before?" Jiang Shaoxu asked, eyes wide in admiration.

Ai Jiangtu and the others were equally astonished.

They already knew Mu Nianbing's Ice Element was unrivaled, and that he also possessed Space Magic of considerable power — but they never knew he also had a Summoning Element this strong.

Little Snow Girl first floated to Mu Nianbing, affectionately brushing against his shoulder, before flying into Mu Ningxue's arms.

"Little Snow Girl is shy," Mu Nianbing said calmly. "She doesn't like interacting with strangers."

Jiang Shaoxu had just reached out to touch her, but immediately pulled her hand back.

Fortunately, Jiang Shaoxu was a woman — otherwise, Little Snow Girl might have attacked without hesitation.

She didn't like any man other than Mu Nianbing approaching her master.

"Where did this guy get such an Ice Spirit?" Mu Tingying stared deeply at Mu Nianbing.

As an Ice Mage herself, she could sense Little Snow Girl's immense potential.

If word of this reached the Mu Family, many would surely grow covetous.

She hesitated for a long moment.

If she reported this, she would certainly earn a great deal of favor and resources from the family — but the cost would be offending Mu Nianbing completely.

After these days of interaction, she had learned enough about his personality: if you crossed him, he wouldn't hesitate to retaliate.

Mu Nianbing's gaze turned to the distant sea, where a massive wall of water was rolling toward Sea Battle City.

"The tide is coming. Everyone, get ready."

His tone turned serious as he gave the command.

At once, the entire team tensed and prepared for combat.

Moments later, a hundred-meter-high wave appeared offshore and came crashing down, as if it meant to swallow the city whole.

"Buzz!!!"

The tremendous roar of the impact nearly burst their eardrums.

The seawater surged like a rampaging dragon, flooding into the city. Buildings were torn apart and swept away.

Entire blocks along the coastline were destroyed within moments. Only structures reinforced by magic remained standing.

Mu Nianbing and the others stood atop one such reinforced building.

Half of it was already submerged, and the cityscape around them had turned into a vast, chaotic ocean.

"Damn! If that wave hit a person, they'd be turned into paste!" Zhao Manyan said, his face pale.

The others weren't much better off; their hearts were pounding wildly.

"As we discussed before — clear out the nearby sea demons," Mu Nianbing reminded them.

Then he opened a Dimensional Gate and released the Cangming Jioa.

The dragon's body shimmered with azure scales. Being a water-attribute creature, its combat power in the sea multiplied several times over.

"The summoned beast is also Commander-level?!"

Jiang Yu was dumbfounded. As the team's main Summoner, he suddenly felt utterly inadequate.

He had always believed his Summoning talent was outstanding, especially under Chief Pang Lai's personal guidance.

And truly, the Summoning Element was far more difficult to cultivate than most others.

For Jiang Yu to keep up with the team's progress already proved he was among the best of his peers.

But Mu Nianbing was a monster — he had already reached Advanced-level two years ago!

"Waaah—Waaah—!"

Suddenly, the cry of a baby echoed from below, trembling with fear and helplessness.

"What the hell? A baby crying here? Could someone have abandoned a child?" Zhao Manyan shouted nervously.

The streets below were swarming with sea demons — no baby could possibly survive down there.

"I'll save them!" Ai Jiangtu volunteered immediately.

But Mu Nianbing was faster. He leapt onto the Cang Ming Flood Dragon's back and plunged straight into the waves.

The moment they entered the sea, the Flood Dragon's speed increased severalfold.

Mu Nianbing wasn't just rescuing — he struck immediately, hurling an Ice Thorn that pierced through a White Weeping Demon.

Riding atop the dragon, with Little Snow Girl by his side, Mu Nianbing charged into the enemy ranks — freezing an entire area into a glittering field of ice.
