Chapter 39 - Bloodline Activated (2)

CHAPTER 37

[Bloodline forcefully Activated]

Ray ignored the message.

His mind wasn't even on the notification as all his attention was focused on the f*cker who had just insulted his dead family.

Did he know how hard he fought to save them?

Did he know how painful it was to watch his mum get crushed to death right in front of him?

Did he know the pain and fury he felt back then… and was still feeling even now?

Yet the annoying bully went ahead to curse at his family… at his mum?

First crime; beating up Van.

Second—and the worst crime—was cursing his mum.

Death… Death… Death was what he deserved.

The world didn't need insensitive idiots like him. Someone like that had no right to keep existing.

And Ray decided to take it upon himself to make that happen as sparks flashed violently across his dull gray eyes.

Visible arcs of energy crackled around his legs as he wasted no time lunging forward with a loud bang.

So fast… far faster than what Flinn had ever seen or was used to.

Within a heartbeat, Ray materialized right in front of the bully, moving at a speed that forced Flinn's eyes to widen in pure shock when—

Bam—!

Ray's fist rocketed forward like a loose arrow, smashing straight into Flinn's face with devastating force.

Saliva burst out of the bully's mouth as his head snapped sideways violently, his body almost lifting off the ground when—

Ray suddenly blitzed to the side where his face had turned and, with brutal speed, hauled his leg through the air, sending it lashing into Flinn's face again.

Specks of blood sprayed through the air as his head whipped in the opposite direction.

— What is going on here? How can he be this fast?!

One of the Aspirants in the crowd shouted in disbelief, eyes wide as they watched the scene unfold.

It was as if Ray had suddenly doubled his speed.

What they couldn't see was that faint sparks of lightning were unconsciously crackling around the soles of Ray's feet.

Even his hands were subtly emitting thin arcs of lightning, boosting his movements beyond his limits.

Ray wasn't even aware of what his body was doing anymore.

His mind was solely focused on one thing—making Flinn feel unimaginable pain.

Wam—!

Another punch crashed into the Aspirant's abdomen, forcing him to curl forward as blood spilled from his mouth, only for a sweeping kick from below to smash violently into his face.

Ray didn't say a word.

He only breathed roughly, relentlessly raining punishment upon the bully without mercy.

— Come on, Flinn! What the fuck are you doing?! Don't disappoint us, damn it!

Hearing that, Flinn clenched his teeth hard as, from the corner of his eyes, he saw the silver-haired boy charging at him at terrifying speed.

In one swift, fluid motion, Flinn spun around, his head hardening instantly as he hurled it forward, aiming to headbutt the rushing Ray.

'He can't avoid this at that speed, right?'

He was wrong.

Because Ray's perception was razor sharp.

At the last instant, he pivoted his entire body sharply on one foot, a screeching sound echoing out as the air screamed in protest.

Flinn's head shot past Ray's face as the Aspirant tumbled forward, only for his gut to be smashed by a solid kick that sent a loud crack echoing through the area.

Hearing the sound, some of the Aspirants in the crowd winced in pain on Flinn's behalf as he suddenly coughed out blood.

'Wh… what is going on? Why is he suddenly so fast? How is he overwhelming me? What is happening here?!'

Staggering backward while clutching his abdomen in immense agony, he stared ahead—only to realize that Ray had vanished from view.

Flinn twisted sharply, panic flashing across his face, spinning around just in time to see a fist shooting straight toward his head.

With his lips curling slightly, the Aspirant quickly ducked, narrowly dodging the punch, and was about to smash his own knuckle into Ray in retaliation.

But unsurprisingly, his fist hit nothing but air.

The next thing he knew, he was staring at the sky.

His eyes blinked rapidly in confusion, disoriented by what had just happened.

It took a moment for realization to strike—

He had been smashed into the ground.

Before he could even react, Ray was already sitting atop his body, his eyes blazing with red-hot fury that looked almost inhuman.

"Die… die… die!"

Bam, Bam, Bam—!

Ray's fists began crashing down relentlessly into Flinn's face, striking far faster than the Aspirant could react.

Each punch sent blood spraying violently from Flinn's mouth as his head was driven deeper into the ground with every brutal impact.

'Curses! How is he this fast?! He's hitting me faster than I can harden… What kind of monster have I awakened…?!'

"DIE!" Ray's thunderous roar sent goosebumps racing across the spines of the surrounding Aspirants as he clasped his fists together and hammered them down, driving Flinn's head even deeper into the cracked earth beneath his body.

Right at that moment, Kai came rushing out, accompanied closely by Van, who was panting heavily.

Earlier, when Van had escaped from the scene, he went looking for Kai—he was the only person he knew who could handle the bully and save Ray.

But the moment they arrived, the scene before them was nothing like what they had expected.

"Remind me again," Kai said slowly, eyes fixed on the chaos, "who did you say needed saving?"

His question was directed at Van, who stood frozen, mouth hanging open in stunned disbelief.

"I said just die!" Ray's voice thundered again, his sanity clearly slipping with each furious shout.

Flinn had long since lost consciousness, his body twitching weakly as each blow caused it to shudder. Blood spilled freely from his head, face, and even his neck, his lips completely busted and swollen beyond recognition.

But Ray didn't stop.

He continued hammering his fists down again and again until—

"You need to stop your friend before he actually kills someone and gets expelled!" Chloe's worried voice snapped Kai and Van out of their shock.

Without hesitation, the tall grade 6 meta dashed forward at blazing speed, crossing a distance of five metres in less than two seconds.

Ray's fist lifted once more, ready to deliver another devastating blow—

When it was suddenly caught midair.

Kai's grip was firm, stopping Ray's entire body in place as if locked by an invisible force.

"Enough! Come back to your senses now!" Kai's voice boomed as his aura spilled out in threatening waves, his gaze locked onto Ray like sharpened blades.
