I've been staring at Chase Sterling's office building for twenty minutes. Sitting in my car. Engine off. Hands gripping the steering wheel.
I need to do this. Need to confront him. Need answers.
But I'm terrified.
The last time I saw Chase was months ago. After the premiere. After he made it clear I was nothing to him. Just a tool. A weapon in his war with Vivian.
I should have left it alone. Should have moved on. Should have focused on rebuilding my relationship with Sienna.
But I can't. Because every time I close my eyes, I see him. Feel his hands on me. Remember the way he looked at me like I mattered.
Even though I never did.
I finally get out of the car. Walk into the building. Take the elevator to the sixtieth floor.
His assistant recognizes me. Her expression shifts. Pity. Or maybe disgust.
"I need to see Chase," I say.
"Do you have an appointment?"
"No. But I'm not leaving until I talk to him."
