Chapter 33 - Sienna's Confession

 VIVIAN

The hospital room is white. Too white. Everything is too bright and too clean and too sterile.

I've been awake for two days. Out of the coma. Out of immediate danger.

But my head still throbs. My ribs still ache. And the curse marks on my wrists pulse cold every time I think about Chase.

Chase hasn't visited since that first moment when I woke up. When his name was the first word out of my mouth.

The nurses say he was here for three days straight. Refusing to leave. Fighting with Marcus. Sitting vigil like I was his to protect.

Then I woke up. Said his name. And he disappeared.

I don't know what that means. Don't know if I want to know.

A knock on the door. Sienna enters, carrying coffee and looking exhausted.

"You look terrible," I say.
