Chapter 56
Ye Yu had been observing Lapis from the moment he arrived.
His first test was simple: he had placed a flowerpot on the rooftop.

Lazuli turned her head—and saw the same green giant snake coiled nearby.
Her brother was being suspended in mid-air by its body.
"Damn it!"
Lazuli cursed furiously and tried to stand up to free her brother.
But in the next second, despair struck her.
Her legs felt like they had vanished—completely numb.
Her body lost balance instantly, and she collapsed off the bed.
Ye Yu calmly walked over and crouched down, looking at her.
"I forgot to mention—you've been poisoned. Right now it's just your legs that are numb. Soon it will spread to your arms, then your entire body. You'll become like a living corpse—only your brain will still be able to think."
Hearing Ye Yu's words, Lazuli panicked and began shouting toward the outside.
"Help! Is anyone there? Help!!"
