Chapter 63

"Do you know Fujiwara Koichi?"

The man looked at Ye Yu seriously and directly pulled out a photo.

It was that idiot Fujiwara Koichi.

Ye Yu smiled faintly and leaned back in his chair.

"Of course I know that old bastard."

"The entire Fujiwara family was wiped out. Do you know who did it?"

Ye Yu could hear three people breathing behind the adjacent wall.

One of them was Artoria.

"Of course I don't know. But that old bastard getting exterminated—truly something to celebrate. I wonder which hero did it. They really did a public service!"

Hearing this, the man slammed the table hard, glaring angrily at Ye Yu.

"You bastard! How can you say something so cold-blooded? Those were several human lives!"

"What does that have to do with me? Anything else? If not, I'm leaving."

In the observation room, Artoria watched Ye Yu with furrowed brows. An inexplicable unease rose in her heart.

Then she spoke into her mic, continuing to direct.

"Ask him directly about the other cases!"

The middle-aged man received the order and looked into Ye Yu's eyes.

"The case where high-level executives of Seiran Agency were tortured to death— do you know who did it?"

"Why would I know about that? You police can't solve the case, so you expect us law-abiding citizens to help?"

"Before this case occurred, you took away a woman named Nakano Ichika. What did the two of you do afterward?"

"Is it illegal to take my girlfriend home to rest?"

"Fujiwara Koichi and four parents extorted 400 million yen from you. Within three days, they were all exterminated. What do you have to say about that?"

Ye Yu burst out laughing.

"If you ask me—good riddance!"

"You bastard—are you admitting you did all this?"

Ye Yu looked at the officer like he was an idiot.

"So this is how you police handle cases? No evidence at all—can I sue you for slander?"

"Don't get too cocky. Do you really think we have no evidence?"

Seeing the man's furious expression, Ye Yu said nothing.

A brief silence fell between them. Then a sharp screech came from the sky.

The piercing eagle cry hurt everyone's ears and made their faces turn pale.

Pedestrians outside the police station also felt their internal organs churn.

Someone looked up in terror.

A massive eagle with a metallic sheen was flapping its wings overhead.

Every wingbeat stirred up a strong gust of wind.

"What is that monster??"

"Help! A monster is here!"

"Run! Get out of here!"

The giant eagle was the Level 4 mutated beast Ye Yu had summoned earlier— one of the strongest creatures he could call.

After all, for a proper test, something weak wouldn't be clear enough!

The giant eagle opened its huge beak, and a surge of green flame instantly gathered.

The next second, a massive fireball formed above the police station.

BOOM…

A deafening explosion rang out.

The originally dignified and imposing police station was directly hit by the fireball and erupted in a huge blast.

Inside the room, Artoria's heart pounded violently.

Then she felt an intense sense of crisis from above.

"Dodge!"

As soon as she spoke, a massive shockwave sent her entire body flying. In her vision, green flames appeared on the ceiling, incinerating everything in front of her.

Then she was buried under the rubble.

The police station had five floors, and their interrogation room was on the third.

Fragments of the shattered ceiling rained down toward Ye Yu and the others.

In the blink of an eye, more than half of the five-story police station disappeared under the power of the flames. What remained collapsed into ruins.

"Heh, so it was all in my head. You're just an ordinary person after all!"

Ye Yu let out a light laugh. He formed a wall of telekinetic force around himself, firmly blocking the falling debris, wood, and steel fragments.

Then with a boom, Ye Yu appeared atop the ruins.

"Ah! Save me—save me!"

Painful cries rang out. Ye Yu was surprised to discover that the officer who had just interrogated him was still alive.

What an insanely tough life!

Ye Yu ignored him and walked to the other side nearby.

Artoria was buried there—he could clearly hear her pained breathing.

Ye Yu activated telekinesis again. All the rubble and debris pressing down on her was lifted away.

Soon, Artoria—covered in blood—appeared before him.

"Still alive?"

Hearing Ye Yu's teasing tone, she struggled to lift her head.

Seeing the floating debris, her heart jolted slightly.

"Who the hell are you? Did you do all of this?"

Ye Yu slowly crouched in front of her, looking down at her from above.

"I just saved you. Is this how you talk to your savior?"

Artoria felt her head spinning. Pain in her limbs made it hard to muster strength.

She tried to stand with difficulty, but even sitting up took almost all her energy.

When she looked around, despair surged in her heart.

"What the hell happened?"

Ye Yu gently waved his hand, piling the large chunks of stone and wood to the side.

"Just a mutated beast attacking this city. You guys were just unlucky."

With that, Ye Yu pointed to the giant bird in the distance.

"Mutated beast?"

Looking up at the eagle wreaking havoc, she felt her worldview collapsing.

What the hell was that thing?

How could such a huge monster exist?

"I saved you. How are you going to repay me?"

Artoria looked at Ye Yu with a glimmer of hope.

"Thank you, Mr. Ye Yu. Can you defeat this monster?"

"I can't beat it."

Ye Yu shook his head. (Joking—this thing is mine.)

But then he added:

"However, I can help you save your colleagues. I can sense at least twenty more people still alive down there."

Artoria's eyes lit up with hope.

"Thank you, Mr. Ye Yu. Please hurry and save them!"

Ye Yu didn't reply. He smiled and repeated his earlier words.

"You still haven't answered me. How are you going to repay me?"

Artoria saw the malicious look in his eyes, and an even stronger sense of foreboding rose in her heart.

But thinking of her colleagues' safety, she still nodded.

"As long as you help me, I'll do anything you want."

Ye Yu crouched down and whispered something in her ear.

Artoria's face slowly turned red. Her body trembled as she looked at him.

"You're shameless!"
