Chapter 11 - There’s Always Some Idiot Trying to Screw Me Over

Ding… Congratulations, User.Whitebeard Template unlocked to 45%. You have obtained Whitebeard's Observation Haki and Armament Haki.

Leon didn't react outwardly.

Inside, though, his thoughts stirred.

Wait.

Whitebeard's Observation and Armament…?

He already had Advanced Observation Haki and Advanced Armament Haki from sign-ins.

So what was this supposed to mean?

Was the system bugging out?

Surely it wasn't going to make him "absorb" the same Haki twice.

Ding… User: because you already possess Advanced Observation and Advanced Armament, fusing Whitebeard's unlocked Observation and Armament will push both to their peak tier.

Leon narrowed his eyes. "So you're saying… I can stack them?"

Ding… Correct.

"…Got it."

He didn't waste time.

"Then fuse: my sign-in Advanced Armament, plus the Whitebeard Template's unlocked Observation and Armament."

—Buzz—

A faint wave rolled through him.

No light show. No explosion.

Just a quiet, clean reinforcement—like steel bars being set inside concrete.

Leon's eyes flashed with satisfaction.

That's more like it.

His Observation Haki had already been sharp.

But after this fusion, it didn't feel like "one plus one."

It felt like a leap.

His senses honed to a frightening edge—enough to catch a thin thread of what came next.

Not prophecy.

Just a brief glimpse of the immediate future.

And his Armament Haki?

That evolved even more brutally.

Not just hardening.

Not just coating.

It stepped into a deeper layer—a force that didn't only break armor from the outside, but ruptured what was underneath.

Leon exhaled slowly.

Then he spoke again.

"System. Show my status panel."

Ding… generating User status panel…

Ding… status panel ready.

"Ninety days…" Leon clicked his tongue.

Three months until the next jackpot location.

He dismissed the panel and kept his expression neutral.

As for Hashirama's Sage Body—

he wasn't fusing that yet.

If the fusion caused a noticeable surge—something big enough to draw attention—then he'd be exposing himself for no reason.

And right now, the entire village had eyes on him.

Which became obvious when he looked around—

and saw nothing.

That was the problem.

He was being watched.

Not just by one group.

By several.

Hidden nearby, Uchiha Shisui, two Uchiha shinobi, three ANBU, and three Root agents stared at Leon standing atop the First Hokage's stone face—completely motionless.

Even Hiruzen and Danzō, watching through the Crystal Ball, looked baffled.

Because Leon wasn't training.

Wasn't scanning the village.

Wasn't doing anything obvious.

He just stood there like he'd forgotten how to move.

"What is he doing?" someone muttered under their breath.

Shisui's eyes tightened.

Enough.

I'm not wasting any more time waiting for him to blink.

He moved.

Leon felt it before Shisui even launched.

Not just sensed—knew.

His Observation Haki caught it like a ripple before the stone was disturbed.

So you finally ran out of patience.

—Whoosh—

Shisui landed on the stone face beside him.

He wore a dark high-collared top. His features were boyish, his expression warm and friendly—like they were meeting as clan brothers, not watcher and target.

"Leon. Long time no see." Shisui of the Body Flicker smiled. "What are you doing up here?"

Leon didn't even turn his head.

"Relaxing."

"…Huh?"

Shisui's smile stiffened a fraction.

He'd imagined many answers.

This wasn't one of them.

Most people, when faced with Shisui, reacted somehow—nervous, respectful, excited.

Leon looked like he was talking to a stranger on the street.

Shisui adjusted quickly, forcing the friendliness back into place.

"Relaxing up here, huh?" he said, as if amused. Then, casually—too casually—he asked:

"You were a known genius. Why did you choose the Konoha Military Police Force? And why focus on taijutsu instead of ninjutsu… or the Sharingan?"

The subtext was obvious.

Why didn't you join ANBU? Why didn't you walk the 'right' path?

Leon shrugged. "Because I felt like it."

Shisui's brow twitched.

He didn't like that answer.

For a long time, Shisui had wanted to gather like-minded Uchiha—people who would help him "fix" the clan and align it with the village.

Now, looking at Leon…

He made a decision.

This one is a waste.

Shisui reached into his pouch and tossed something over.

A notebook.

Leon caught it with one hand and glanced at Shisui, instantly wary.

"Taijutsu has a ceiling," Shisui said, voice turning serious. "That notebook is my training notes. It'll help you avoid detours in ninjutsu."

"Oh?"

Leon flipped it open.

He turned the first page—

and instantly felt like throwing up.

Of course.

There's always some idiot trying to poison me.

Because on page one was a lecture on the Will of Fire—

complete with Shisui's personal interpretation and comments.
