I had to leave early that morning because I needed to visit Mia.I haven't gone to meet her ever since I got married to Nick.
"Sis,I missed you, they won't let me call you or speak to you, they've been making me lay down here for a very long time".
"Well,now that I'm here no-one is going to make you lay down all day alright
"Alright sis,you're the best".
I couldn't express the kind of joy I had seeing my sister happy and lively,though I felt she was saying all these just not to make me feel bad,she feels I've been working my ass off to pay for her drugs at the hospital.
My sis was permitted to go with me for some time but she would be returning that day,as she needed to be under observation before the surgery.
"Ruby,why are you still letting them keep me here?,you and I know we don't have such a huge amount of money, why keep me here as I slowly die in pain".Mia was already crying while talking,I couldn't help but hold back my tears
"I have the money,and nobody is dying,you're not going to leave me all alone in this world, you're gonna do the surgery and it's going to be successful,you will be able to bounce back on your feet again"
"What do you mean by 'you have the money?' How is that even possible?"
"I took a loan"
"You took a loan, I know vividly well we went to a lot of banks for them to grant us a loan but they didn't ,I mean which bank would want to give out such amount of money to someone they are not sure would pay back"
I couldn't stand telling Mia I got married because I need the money to pay for her bills.
" So now you wanna tell me miraculously a bank will grant you a loan.Are you lying to me?"
"Why would I wanna lie to you? I'm for real i dont know how it happened, they just granted me the loan saying I could pay in installments".
"That's good,though I'm still scared".
"You don't have to be scared ,I'll be with you till the very end".
"I know you might find it tough and difficult right now and it's okay to feel overwhelmed.just know you are not doing this alone,your strength inspires me day by day".
"You're loved, you're valued, and you're enough. Don't let anyone, including yourself, tell you otherwise. You're doing the best you can, and that's something to be proud of".
"Alright I'm going to stay strong for you".
"And alive".
I could bet that was one of the happiest days I've had for a very long time.I took Mia back to the hospital and she promised to always listen to the doctors and nurses assigned to her.

"So how is Mia coping with the treatments?".
"Bella, I feel pity for her. She has to go through all these. It's my fault Mia is in that condition.I can't stop feeling guilty for her predicament."I said in the midst of tears.
Bella came close to me patting me softly " it's not your fault okay if your step mother hadn't called those assassins to kill you and your sister,all these wouldn't have been happening, don't put the blame on yourself,don't blame yourself for it".
"I know it must have been tough for you and Mia,watching your mom die in your very own eyes,watching another woman who is not even worthy to be called a mother,take the place of a mother".
I just sniffed the thought of my mom being so depressed before she died made me even want to cry the more.I lost her when I was 15. My dad had to remarry after much persuasion not knowing he just got married to a devil in human form.
Mia and I were very happy when my dad remarried, not until she moved in with her seventeen years old daughter. We didn't feel uneasy at first,but after they lived with us for a whole month,things started changing….
"I'm sure Mia is more than grateful to have a sister like you that puts her first in all she does,just cheer up Mia is going to be fine alright".

"Blah blah blah, enough of the talking,I get that from you a lot,we need to eat,so you'll get going before your husband gets mad at you".

"He warned me the other night not to come home late ever again or I should let him know before going out or when I'll be coming back late".
"So he's concerned about your well being".
"I doubt so,he just wants to see me every time to frustrate me or get me pissed".
"So,it's not that late, it's just half past midnight".
"Can you hear yourself?"I said while standing and heading for the door.
"I will call you when I get home or I'll see you at work".
"Stay safe Mrs.terms and conditions". She said with sarcasm.
I had to walk silently in order not to make a sound,one of the maids saw me entering.
"Good evening ma'am, Mr.Nick has been waiting for you angrily, he went in search of you and called you multiple times but you wouldn't answer".
"What! he did all that" i said in whispers
"Yes ma'am"
"Where is he now?".
"He's probably sleeping".
"Alright I see you the next morning, don't bother making anything for me I'm not hungry ohkay"
"Alright ma'am"
I walked on the balls of my feet like a spy,I had the confidence of a thief….until
