Chapter 425 - Chapter 428 Supper

Chapter 428 Supper

Hearing footsteps behind him, Kaede, who was cracking eggs, turned his head and said, "Utaha-senpai, aren't you typing anymore?"

"As soon as I heard you were making something to eat, my mouth started watering a bit too much, so I decided to put it aside for now and work after I finish eating."

Utaha's words also made Kaede laugh, "It's just egg fried rice, it's not that serious."

At this moment, under the kitchen light, Kaede saw Utaha's attire: a pure white slip dress, and none of the black pantyhose she usually wore.

In a fleeting glance, Kaede even saw a strap at the shoulder of Utaha's dress, and it was obvious what that was.

Because he only glanced at it before turning his head, Utaha didn't notice, and instead walked into the kitchen with a cheerful stride.

"Do you need my help?"

"It's just egg fried rice, I'll be done quickly."

After cracking the eggs, Kaede simply sliced the sausages, then started the stove to heat the pan.

As oil, rice, eggs, and sausages were added to the pan one after another, a simple yet rich aroma wafted out.

Smelling this scent, Utaha's face showed a joyful smile, "Being able to eat a bowl of egg fried rice like this when you're hungry in the middle of the night is truly a rare treat."

"You can make it yourself at home, Utaha-senpai; it's just egg fried rice, I don't think it should be difficult for you."

"It's not difficult, but I'm lazy."

Utaha revealed her flaw without hesitation, smiling as she said, "And it's rare for a girl to get up in the middle of the night to make something to eat for herself. If I were to eat, I'd just find some biscuits."

"So, if I hadn't come down just now, Utaha-senpai, you wouldn't have found anything to eat even if you were hungry?"

"Most likely, yes."

"Hmm~~~"

Kaede thought about it, and it seemed quite accurate; Eriri was the same. When she was at home, if she was busy until late at night and got hungry, supper was usually made by Kaede, and Eriri mostly just sat and waited to be fed.

While reminiscing, the egg fried rice was ready. Kaede first served a bowl for Utaha and handed it to her.

"Here, Utaha-senpai, your portion."

"Thank you!"

Holding the bowl, Utaha didn't find a place to sit; she just stood there, taking small bites with her spoon.

Although it was just egg fried rice, Kaede's skill was evident, and the taste of the egg fried rice was quite good.

As she ate, a smile appeared on Utaha's face.

"Mmm~ It's delicious."

While eating, Utaha glanced at Kaede, who was also eating, and sighed, "I really envy Eriri."

"Huh?"

Kaede looked at Utaha in confusion and asked, "Why do you say that?"

"You really are oblivious."

Utaha swallowed the fried rice in her mouth and said with a smile, "Handsome, caring, able to earn money, and devoted—such boys are rare, you know. Especially one the same age as Eriri, that's even rarer. In the eyes of girls, boys like Kaede-kun are once-in-a-lifetime finds. When we were chatting before, even Shinomiya Kaguya said she was a little envious of Eriri. Shirogane Miyuki is also an excellent boy, but when it comes to emotions, he's a bit too slow and dull; he needs Shinomiya Kaguya to remind him of many things before he reacts."

"Really? It's not that exaggerated, is it?"

Kaede shrugged, "I just did what I wanted to do."

"That's why people envy you." After giving Kaede a deep look, Utaha carried her small bowl and turned to walk towards the living room.

Because he didn't make much, Kaede quickly finished his fried rice. After putting the dishes into the dishwasher, he said to Utaha, who was still eating in the living room, "Utaha-senpai, just put the bowl in the dishwasher after you're done. I'm going up to rest. You shouldn't stay up too late either; get some rest early."

"Mmm, I understand."

Utaha smiled and nodded, "Thank you for the fried rice. Good night, Asakura-kun."

"Good night, Utaha-senpai."

After watching Kaede go upstairs, Utaha looked at the fried rice in her hand with some distress and muttered to herself, "Was I influenced by Kawashima Ami? I was doing so well before..."

Shaking her head, Utaha took a deep breath and continued eating the fried rice.

It wouldn't taste good cold.

On the other side, Kaede carefully opened the bedroom door and walked in, only to see the bedroom light on and Eriri sitting up in bed, looking at him with a charming smile.

"Why are you awake?"

"Kaede-kun, you weren't here, so I couldn't sleep~~~"

Listening to Eriri's whining, Kaede also smiled. He walked over and held Eriri in his arms, and the two lay down wrapped in a blanket, "I was a little hungry, so I went downstairs to get something to eat."

"Aiya~~~ You ate without calling me!" As she spoke, Eriri sniffed at Kaede, "Sure enough, there's a smell of cooking oil. Egg fried rice?"

Her nose was quite sharp; she could smell that.

Nodding, Kaede said, "Weren't you asleep? I wouldn't dare wake you."

"Hmph~~~"

Wrinkling her nose, Eriri's little head bumped against Kaede's shoulder in dissatisfaction.

Stroking Eriri's hair, Kaede said, "Eriri, can I ask you a question?"

"What question?"

"That..." Recalling the conversation he had with Utaha downstairs earlier, Kaede asked, "Eriri, do you think I'm a good boyfriend?"

"Eh?"

Eriri hadn't expected Kaede to ask this suddenly; he had never asked before.

But seeing the serious expression on Kaede's face, Eriri knew he wasn't joking. So she leaned in and gave Kaede a strong kiss, answering, "Of course! My Kaede-kun is the best boyfriend in the world. I wouldn't trade him for anything. Are you satisfied with that answer?"

"Yes, very satisfied."

"Hehehe~" Eriri smiled and then asked, "What about me? Kaede-kun, do you think I'm a good girlfriend? No perfunctory answers!"

Kaede gently stroked Eriri's cheek with his right hand and said softly, "Of course you are! If a perfect score is one hundred, I would definitely give you one hundred and fifty. Meeting you, Eriri, is the luckiest thing that has ever happened to me."

"Hehehe~ That feels a bit cheesy."

Shrinking her neck, Eriri leaned against Kaede's embrace and said, "It's time to sleep, Kaede-kun. I'm really sleepy."

"Mmm, good night."

Lights out, time to sleep.
