It was a quiet evening. In a dark room covered by the curtains a tall woman laid on a bed. The woman was sleeping but the sleep didn't seem peaceful. She was sweating profusely while twisting and turning on the bed. Her eyebrows furrowed nonstop as if she was facing a nightmare. As if she was running from something and with a jolt she stood up panting.
The woman sat on the bed for a while and then turned around suspiciously. The place seemed familiar to her. While searching her eyes fell on the mirror. She saw her own reflection. Her eyes widened and she hurriedly checked her appearance.
"How... " She asked herself. Then her eyes went to a scar on her chest. This brought back memories. Her head started to hurt and memories flooded her mind. She sat on the floor and let the dizziness past. After half an hour or so she stood stumbling. Nothing made sense. Her eyes went to the desk calender and fell on today's date. It was 30th June 2029. Suddenly she realised something. She took up the calender and read the year on it again.
"2... 0....2....9....oh, god.... I'm back." She sat on the floor and looked at herself. Her eyes sparkles saying "I'm back". Tearsstartedtofall. She cried and cried till her eyes turned swollen. After sometime she turned her head to check the scar on her heart. It was a knife wound and there was a small red dot beside it.
Now everything made sense. She went and opened the curtain the night was filled with house lights. The scene was beautiful but in a few months everywhere there will only be destruction and death. On 24th December a huge asteroid hit the South Pole and unleashed all kinds of things in the air. Pople started to fall sick and went into coma. They just slept. Just seven days after that zombie outbreak occured. Those who had been sleeping woke up and stated cannibalism. She sighed thinking about this and then accepted reality.
"Since I came back in time I will survive this time. Alicia you have to survive this time even if you are alone"
She told herself and smiled. In her last life she gave everything to protect her parents and brother but they betrayed her when the time came. She always gave them the best but they never cared. Her parents and brother threw her out of the base just because of a false accusation. Her brother's fiance said that I had harassed him. It was true that shed had liked him and her family knew but after he became her brother's fiance she did not even think about him. But they never believed her. They chose to believe an outsider over her. With her help her brother secured a high position on the base and he used that position to throw her out. He took away all her weapons and pushed her into the abyss. Soon she became the food for the undead. While the zombies devoured her a zombied pierced her heart and took it away along with her locket. After that everything changed.
She woke up in her room six months ago.
She went to the door and looked outside. The light was blinding but still she went out. When she reached the dining room she found a harmonious scene and smiled sarcastically. She thought that's a real family.
