Chapter 44 - How to Be a Lady and Die Trying

Phew.

After my giant frost-basalt fridge was finally fully operational, I stepped out of the freezing chamber. I left the Head Chef and his cooks to handle the actual storing of the noodles.

Elin was still out in the main kitchen, happily helping with the rest of the prep work.

Honestly, looking at the absolute mountains of dough they were rolling out, I don't even know how much these people are planning to make at this point. Are they feeding a delegation or an entire army?

Anyways, Lucian didn't push the subject of my sudden architectural genius any further. He just gave me one last, unreadable look.

"We will discuss this 'fridge' invention of yours in detail after the Grand Convergence," he said smoothly, before turning on his heel and heading back to his endless royal duties.

Great. A scheduled interrogation. I'll worry about that later.
