Chapter 32 - Island Cities

I opened the communicator with Xu Lin; she should be killing monsters right now, and her panting voice in my ear made my imagination run wild.

"Sister Lin, I've received a job advancement quest that can only be completed on other continents. I might be leaving Hurricane City for a day or so. Is there anything you need me to do?"

Xu Lin said with a smile, "It's fine, Xin Yu, Xue Han, and I are having a great time practicing. You go ahead, and I wish you a smooth completion of your quest!"

I closed the communicator and spoke to the professional trainer again. The sad thing was that I hadn't learned any skills. At the trainer's, only Combo and Heavy Strike were available to learn; everything else I had to find myself.

I wonder if others can learn my Berserk Swordsman skill. If not, then I'll directly have 10% more damage than other warriors, which is like a natural advantage, a talent that adds 10% damage. I'm afraid all warriors would drool if they knew.

After repairing my equipment, I headed north of the town.

Beyond the canyon where I last accompanied Murong Shanshan to fight the BOSS, lay a vast forest.

The jungle was filled with various monsters around level 24. With my current attack, killing my way through wasn't too difficult. There were many monsters along the way, and I gained a lot of experience.

By the time I approached the coast, I was almost level 21. Traveling and killing monsters simultaneously, two full hours flew by.

The coastline was very long, and besides the sandy beach, there were clumsy crocodile monsters with high defense but very low attack.

I didn't want to get entangled with them, so I directly advanced in areas without monsters, searching for the steamship the trainer mentioned.

After crossing a hill, a wooden ship was indeed beached in a shallow sea. No sailors were visible, but judging by its sails, it should still be able to navigate.

As I climbed from the water onto the ship's deck, a merchant-like person suddenly emerged from the cabin.

"Young man, this ship is about to depart for Via Village on the other side of the sea. The fare is 1 gold coin. Are you willing to go?"

I looked at the 16 gold coins in my pocket and immediately chose "yes."

The ship slowly set sail shortly after. The sound of waves, "hua la la," came from the azure sea.

I sat alone on the deck, resting for a while, watching the continent behind me slowly shrink and then gradually disappear. At this moment, a hint of reluctance surprisingly arose in my heart.

On the opposite shore, there were Lu Xuehan, Xin Yu, Xu Lin, and that group of girls, and Murong Shanshan… Unconsciously, I seemed to have changed…

Half an hour later, the ship finally arrived at the sea city—Via Village.

The village was surrounded by mud-brick walls, and small wooden houses were visible everywhere in the small village.

At the village exit was a slightly larger house, with a large hospital sign hanging at its entrance. According to the children playing at the village entrance, this hospital also served as the village chief's residence.

I walked in with the letter the trainer had given me. Inside the room stood an old man, who should be Yeka, the village chief of Via Village.

"Young man, so you are an adventurer from Hurricane City. Very well, take this torch and go to the cave in the valley east of the village to find the Chaos Bringer. Kill it and claim your own glory!"

Quest objective: Kill the Chaos Bringer and obtain the Swordsman's Trial Certificate. The cave is very dark; light the torch to illuminate your path forward.

I turned and looked at the little nurse by the bedside behind me. She was tending to a patient. Seeing me look at her, she explained, "Hello, warrior. This is an outlying village ruled by the Hurricane City Continent Kingdom.

A ferocious beast is hiding in the eastern cave. It has been frequently attacking the village recently, and many villagers have been injured by it. I hope you can eliminate this menace for the village."

Quest accepted: Kill the Chaos Bringer, obtain the Chaos Bringer's Heart, and give it to Nurse Merlyn… I was a bit surprised. Can killing one monster complete two quests simultaneously?

Today, I'm really hitting the jackpot!

As I left the village chief's door, a child at the village entrance reminded me, "Mommy says there are many scary zombies in that dreadful cave, big brother, you must be careful! I heard that if you carry some Jade Forest Wood, you won't be afraid of zombies anymore. You can ask Grandpa Harbor for some; Grandpa Harbor is very kind."

After gratefully thanking him, I went to the wooden house the child pointed to. Inside, an old man was cutting a piece of wood. It turned out he was a carpenter…

I explained my purpose, and he immediately handed me a piece of wood, saying, "Young man, take this Jade Forest Wood; it can make you no longer fear the zombie's toxins. This is all I can do for you. Good luck, my brave warrior!"

Taking the wood, I patted my butt and left. I don't have the habit of being insincere with a bunch of data.

Outside the village were green grasslands and sparse woods, with a few low-level monsters occasionally moving among the trees.

The valley I needed to go to wasn't far. In just five minutes, I had already arrived in front of the cave, faintly hearing the zombies' moans from within.

Goosebumps were starting to rise. I tucked the Jade Forest Wood into my waist, lit the torch, and bravely walked in.

Rows of zombies slowly came towards me. I almost blacked out and fainted. A putrid smell was extremely unpleasant.

The zombies were in rags, their decaying flesh hanging from their bones with some fibers, swaying loosely. Their vacant eyes glowed eerily, and their sharp teeth were stark white in the dark cave. Their low moans were chilling.

Damn it, why make it so realistic? Even watching the Hong Kong horror movie "Mr. Vampire" would scare me into hugging Xin Yu next to me. With such a realistic scene, who can I hug?

A zombie?

Quickly retreating to the damp cave wall, I turned off the sound and scent system effects. Only then did I face these level 24 zombies that made my heart race, sword in hand.

The zombies' attack and defense were not low, but their movement speed was agonizingly slow, not even half as fast as mine.

The scene became very eerie: a young swordsman led a group of zombies in circles within the dark cave, constantly attacking the ones that came close. Sword light and the white glow of zombie teeth intertwined in the cave.

An hour later, most of the zombies had been cleared, and I had also leveled up to 21.

Deeper in the cave, the zombies became fewer and fewer. Even the dark green moss on the cave walls gradually disappeared, replaced by fiery red.

When I turned a stone wall, I was instantly stunned by the scene before me!
