As ruko awoken from his slumber he looked at his tail to see a baby azure rathalos casually chewing on his tail as he gently shook him off and flew out of his nest it was breakfast time and as a silver rathalos he has a natural inferno sac it was still quite underdeveloped because of his age but if he eats another monster inferno or fire sac the new effects would become immediately apparent after another 4 years.
As he scanned the ground looking for a unsuspecting aptonoth it would be easy and simple suddenly his carapace was smashed into as he began to spiral he managed to turn around midair and slash his opponent with his claw as he made a disoriented u-turn it was that elder yian garuga which was paralyzed from the legs down from the paralysis in ruko talons.
Ruko could knock out two problems with one stone as he made a complete stop as the paralysis wore off on the elder yian garuga he noticed it was significantly bigger than the others of it's species like twice the size of a regular male and it flames we're way more potent ruko assumed the due to it being long lived and eaten plenty of monsters the accumulated bioenergy within its body have condensed into elemental gems since just like rathian.
Yian garuga have both fire and poison and can you sound waves which set them apart from the basic rathian therefore it should have a high grade poison gem in the bulk of its tail and and if he was lucky a pure grade fire gem in its inferno sac as the two danced around each other ruko decided to stop playing chicken he made sure to slow down as he begin gathering a large amount of fire energy in his throat.
His plan burn this old bat into a crispy chicken of course he couldn't miss as if he did conjure up a maximum fireball and shot it his flames would be depleted for a good couple of hours so he had to lock in as he slowed down even more he started gathering more heat as the heat was so intense the gills near his throat opened up to release the unnecessary amount of blazing heat before his insides exploded as the fireball turned blue.
The yian garuga felt the heat on its body but assumed it was from the Sun until it's seen the rathalos throat turn to a blue color and immediately realized it was being baited when ruko turned around in the elder yian garuga slapped its wings so hard it shot up into the light of the Sun as it flew around ruko going for a head-on clash.
Ruko wasn't expecting such a maneuver as and crashed into each other claws and wings being thrown at each other as yian garuga bit ruko on his neck ruko let out in enraged cry as he bit down directly on the elder yian garuga while the blazing blue fireball was still in his mouth as they were about to slam into the ground ruko managed to get free as the elder yian garuga wasn't paying attention before it could catch itself it's slammed into the ground.
With devilish force weekend bones and other organs severely damaged elder yian garuga attempted to make a run for it as they tried to fly away it's a wing was burned severely from that blazing bite suddenly a 'FOOOUSH!!!' sounded through the air as the elderly yian garuga looked up it was hit square in the back with a blazing blue fireball that exploded then exploded again and then a final explosion before the flames spread in a short AOE.
As the yian garuga barely alive tried to get up ruko with his talons out slam his talons into the yian garuga head from the sky causing its neck to shatter like glass as it died he roared into the air while his wings unfurled so fast it's spread the embers around the area.
Now wasn't the time for dilly-dallying after destroying the flames he used his talons gutted the yian garuga throat first by using his talons and sifting through the throat organs he found a perfected inferno gem it wasn't pure or shinning but it would do using his talon he threw it into his mouth and swallowed it the flame bioenergy course through his body he decided to move on to the bulkiest part of the tail where the poison gem would most likely be as he sliced open the tail of his defeated foe inside.
Was a semi-perfect poison gem he had no use for it though his poison was already of a lethal grade if he consumed it the most his poison would become acidic and do internal damage which was good but he decided to give it to someone who needed it more azural was the name he gave to the azure rathalos unfortunately he got even more attached than he thought he originally would carrying the gem in his mouth and the yian garuga in his talons he barely made it back to his nest before the weight caused him to drop the corpse.
As he threw it down and carved it open he and azural we're eating first he made sure to secretly slip the gem in azural next chunk as they were eating ruko noticed how tensei broke the poison spikes off at the end of yian-gargruta tail used a bone knife he made himself started sharpening them out fastening them to straightened out vines that became super hard after he left them out in the cold air.
And attached the spikes to the vines ruko had to admit his tenent was resourceful their was probably some leftover poison in those spikes but ruko was more worried about who would appear next with yian garuga gone the monsters will eventually figure out its territories of grabs in total that was now for instead of five Apex monsters himself lagiacrus brute tigrex and glavenus as for royal ludroth gravios tobi-kadachi and duramabos they didn't count since they weren't considered too high of level threats.
Meanwhile in the forest of heaven haven a new Apex monster arrived an young confident anjanath but unlike it's electrifying relative fulgar anjanath or it's regular counterpart this one had grey dorsal fins and white fur and the tail spines at a very end of its tail were serrated just sharp enough to cut through iron armor this was a rare anjanath deviant born adapted to fight off other brute wyvern.
