POV: Aphrodite
When Love Wins.
The ruins were never abandoned. They were sealed.
The next morning, we return to the ruins with everyone. The twins test the wards again, confirming they still can't cross. But this time, Lyra tries.
She walks through easily. Human presence stabilizes the magic, just like Kai's does.
"Looks like the mortals get to explore history while we stand guard," Lucen mutters, frustrated.
"We'll tell you everything," I promise. "Every detail."
This time I go deeper into the ruins. Past the chamber where I touched the carving yesterday. Into sections we didn't have time to fully explore. The air grows cooler as we descend.
The murals continue. More detailed. More complete. They tell the full story of Direwolf civilization. Colors still vibrant after centuries of silence.
Kai walks beside me, reading inscriptions carved in what he identifies as ancient human script. Lyra follows, eyes wide with wonder at history no one's seen in centuries.
