I lost my parents in a car accident at the age of seven and have been living with my aunt ever since then. Now I'm eighteen and I will be going to college in the next two days.
I'm really excited, mostly because my cousin attends the same college and I haven't seen him for the past eleven years, I keep writing letters but he never answers, maybe my letters don't reach him.
"Aurelia!!!, come downstairs for dinner" my aunt Thalia shouts from downstairs."I'm coming aunt" I scream back running down the stairs because I was literally starving.
I sat at the dining table and waited for my dinner, aunt Thalia was a beautiful woman in her Forty's, she had long red hair and and a shade of darker eyes,she took me in after my parents died and I have been living with her ever since, she came in the dining room with a bowl of spaghetti in her hands,l. I helped her keep it on the table she dished it for me and herself. We both sat down and ate peacefully.
"Aurelia, hope you are preparing for college?"she asked. "Yes,aunt. But can't you at least tell me the name of the college,the only thing you told me was that xarath was attending it" I said waiting for a reply, my aunt was an expert at keeping secrets.
"No, it's a surprise. Now finish eating your dinner and go to sleep" she said with no room for arguments. "Okay" I replied.

"What should we do with him xarath?"Will asked me with curiosity in his voice. "Burn him alive" I said and turned to leave, paying a deaf ear to the pleas and cries.
Once in my dorm room, I looked at the window and saw the letter that mom had sent to me.
"Xarath, I wrote this to tell you that Aurelia will be attending the college soon so I want you to take care of her once she's there, she still doesn't know about the family's secret yet, but I plan on telling her before she arrives.Take care of yourself.

I fold the letter and thew it in the dust bin. I sigh and sat on my bed taking of my three-set balaclava mask.
"Aurelia, I miss you so much, I know you must miss me too, when you come to the academy, I will take every inch of you, my sweet little cousin. I can still smell your scent till this day. I wonder how beautiful you will look now after all I haven't you for the past eleven years, I'm surprised at how I haven't gotten crazy yet. It's a shame I won't be here throughout the first month you resume." I whisper to myself before I lay on my bed, close my eyes and drift to sleep with thoughts about Aurelia picturing her violet eyes.

I woke up the next day, took my bath and wore a black hoodie and black sweatpants using the hoodie to hide my violet hair and went downstairs for breakfast. I met my aunt already sitting,waiting for me. I drew my chair and sat at the dining table and dipped the pancakes into my mouth without thinking.
"Aurelia, no greetings anymore I guess " my aunt said. I stopped chewing midway,the I gulped down the pancake in my mouth before speaking "I'm sorry aunt, I was hungry. Good morning " I said with a bright smile. "Morning dear " she replied with an exact reaction " Finish your breakfast quickly, we have something important to talk about" she said seriously, stood up and headed towards the sitting room. I quickly ate my food due to the curiosity of what my aunt wanted to tell me. Immediately I was through I went to the sitting room.
My aunt was sitting on the couch thinking seriously, I haven't seen that expression on her face before and she pointed for me to sit and I sat at the couch opposite her.
"What's wrong aunt?" I asked worriedly, she sighed "Aurelia.... I want to tell you about this family's secret " she said. "What secret?" I asked because I wasn't getting her.
"The truth is that nobody in our family, neither your mom, dad, me and xarath are human,we are all supernatural beings" she said and I laughed "what kind of joke is this ?" I said laughing so hard my stomach hurt.
"I'm not joking, your mom was a vampire, your dad was a werewolf, I am a vampire and xarath is a dragon" she said very seriously for someone who's pulling a joke. "Oh please aunt, you want me to believe my mom is a vampire and my dad a werewolf, so what does that make me, a hybrid?" I said laughing. "Yes Aurelia, you're a hybrid. Do you know why xarath never came back home for the last eleven years?" She asked"No, I don't " I replied " It's because he is in the supernatural world along with all the mythical creatures and is attending the academy for the supernaturals ,which is the college you'll be attending starting from tomorrow ". She explained. "You've got to be kidding me, how can I believe you without proof?" I said still not believing.
