Chapter 31 - Chapter 31

*Whap!*

Chen Yi smacked away Sister Meow's mischievous little hand. His chest itched from her scratching, and there was a tingling numbness all over his body. *Could it be that someone pinched me forcefully?*

"Meow, what time is it?"

Chen Yi propped himself up on the bed and sat up, rubbing his sleepy eyes. He'd slept incredibly deeply last night and still felt dazed.

"Eight forty. Brother, let me get you some snacks."

Li Miao'er glanced lazily at the watch on her wrist, her beautiful eyes half-closed as she lay on her brother's jade-like lap.

A seductive blush spread across her lovely, delicate face.

*Giving a massage is tiring… but still enjoyable.*

*It's just that my lips are a bit numb and a little sore.*

"Don't bother. I'll make breakfast for you in a bit."

Chen Yi gently nudged away the dozing Sister Meow, straightened his clothes, stood up, and stretched. He felt his whole body was limp, his steps unsteady.

"Brother, wait for me."

Li Miao'er quickly got up from the bed, stuffed two pieces of donkey-hide gelatin into her pocket, and followed.

*Pfft—*

Chen Yi splashed cold water on his face, then stood before the window with his toothbrush and cup.

Large swaths of dark clouds gathered in the sky. Outside, the world was gloomy, with gusts of cool wind blowing—it seemed a heavy rain was imminent.

*Haah…*

After brushing his teeth, Chen Yi opened the window and took a deep breath of the cool, damp air.

He scanned the nearby streets. The howls of the zombies outside had grown quieter, unlike before when their sharp shrieks could pierce through the windows.

"Meow, have the zombies outside gotten fewer?"

Chen Yi smiled faintly and pinched Sister Meow's cheek. She seemed to have grown a little taller.

*Her little white rabbits have also grown a bit… quite the rapid development.*

*Pfft!*

Li Miao'er pushed his hand away, hastily brushed her teeth twice, rinsed her mouth, then leaned against the window to observe carefully.

"Brother, have you noticed? Some zombies have become bulkier, and their movement speed has increased too."

Li Miao'er's pretty face wore a serious expression. *Most of the zombies have probably evolved.*

If zombies could also gain abilities and evolve like humans, killing them would become much harder.

"Meow, some ordinary zombies have evolved to First-Order. Ordinary zombies have a combat power of about 100, while mutated ones are around 200."

Chen Yi chewed on the donkey-hide gelatin Sister Miao handed him and explained the zombie levels and their approximate strength.

*The evolution rate of zombies will definitely be faster than humans'. After all, their base population is so large.*

*With over thirty billion humans, it'd be a miracle if even one billion survivors remained. Killing zombies in the future won't be easy.*

"Brother, what should we do from now on?"

Li Miao'er hugged her brother's arm tightly, as if unwilling to let go, the corners of her pink lips slightly upturned.

"Gather supplies first, then go to the airport and secure a small passenger plane. We'll relocate to Snowfall Valley. I studied the map yesterday—it's the most suitable place for us to develop."

Chen Yi smiled lightly, pulling Sister Meow into his arms and giving her cheek a good kneading. It was soft and tender, perfect for stress relief.

"Hey~ Brother, can you actually fly a plane?"

Li Miao'er leaned obediently into the soft embrace, inhaling his alluring scent.

Both she and Sister Qing'er had only ever been *on* planes before; they had no idea how to fly one.

"Small airliners are manageable. As long as the aircraft is in good condition, there shouldn't be any danger."

Chen Yi smiled and nodded.

"Brother, you're amazing!"

Li Miao'er blinked her bright eyes. She hadn't expected her brother to know how to fly a plane—that was much more impressive than driving a car.

*Whoosh… Bang, bang!*

A gust of cool wind blew outside the window, followed by large raindrops plummeting from the sky, battering against the windowpane like a curtain of water.

*Slap!*

Chen Yi quickly closed the window, then gently held Sister Meow to look at the rain scene through the glass.

Outside, a reddish torrent fell. Pink mist gradually drifted through the sky, ethereal and illusory like a sheer veil.

"Brother, why is it raining blood?"

Li Miao'er wore a puzzled expression. *If it only rains blood from now on, that would be too awful.*

*Hope, what's going on? Can this blood rain continue indefinitely?* Chen Yi was also confused.

"This is a diluted version of Blood Rain. It can accelerate zombie evolution. It won't infect humans if it touches them. It can also increase the success rate of human evolution, though the probability of awakening a bloodline ability will be reduced."

"Meow, this blood rain won't infect people with the pathogen. It's actually beneficial for ordinary people. Don't worry."

Chen Yi smiled reassuringly and gave her little cheek another pinch. The rain outside showed no sign of stopping.

*Looks like it won't let up anytime soon.*

"Brother, what *is* your ability?"

Li Miao'er looked curiously at her brother's ice-blue eyes. *It seems like he has clairvoyant-like abilities and can also check other people's stats. That's way too overpowered.*

"Healing injuries and gathering information—that's about it. I'm just as weak as ever. *Sigh…*"

Chen Yi sighed helplessly. Mentioning his ability made him uncomfortable. *Better to have no support artifact at all.*

*If only I had a system capable of cultivating immortality…*

"Brother… you're already plenty amazing. In the future, you can be my special 'support daddy,' and I'll be your War God, your guardian knight protecting you forever. Okay?"

Li Miao'er smiled coquettishly, wrapping her arms around her brother's neck. Her cute face was now just a centimeter away from his.

She could even see the fine downy hairs on his face. Inhaling his rich scent, her breathing grew even warmer.

"Uh… no. Brother doesn't need your protection."

Chen Yi shook his head in refusal, struggling slightly and leaning in a bit closer to plant a kiss on Sister Meow's pink lips.

*'Support Daddy' sounds awful. A support who doesn't want to be a damage dealer isn't a good support. I won't be anyone's 'daddy.'*

"It's fine if you don't like the name, Brother. If *I* agree, it means *you* agree too!"

Li Miao'er pulled Chen Yi's body tightly into her embrace, her soft pink lips slowly pressing firmly against his. She gazed into the hazy mist in his eyes.

*Mmmph—*

Li Miao'er blinked her teary eyes and slipped a small hand under his shirt to give him a couple of light scratches.

Just as he was about to laugh, she kissed his lips deeply, greedily stealing the breath that belonged to him.

"Alright, that's enough. Sister Qing'er is still in the living room."

Chen Yi forcefully pushed Sister Meow's soft body away. She seemed to have gotten smarter—just as he was about to clamp down with his teeth, she quickly released him. *A tongue injury is excruciatingly painful.*

"Xiao Yi! Little brat cat! What are you two doing?!" Ye Qing'er's angry shout came from the doorway.

Her pupils had tinged slightly red. She'd been woken by the sound of the rain and went to the bedroom but couldn't find them. She never expected to find them kissing here! She really wanted to rush over and teach them a lesson!

She could barely contain the fury rising within her. She truly wanted to charge forward and beat this little naughty cat until she cried!
