Chapter 11 - No rules barred

Hobin's eyes flashed at the sight of Aizawl new trick—An electric teaser pole. Aizawl jammed it together, cracking up a raw surge of lightning. He gradually stretched the pole, drawing current from one another and creating a whip of raw lightning.

"Hey…how does move like that? Hobin stuttered. His voice was mix with anxiety and surprise.

"Oh…you noticed the difference. How smart of you. I changed it. I muttered the buttons and charges, using an arc amplification system. Another trick of my sleeves, if you will." Aizawl smirked with pride.

"Hey! This battle is getting too far. We need to stop." Hobin said with a desperate voice.

"Stop! No…that's what losers say. This is a dog eat dog world. No rules barred. A win is all that matters," Aizawl assured him.

"You're a delinquent. This school is forcing us to fight each other for their entertainment! Hobin snapped.

"Then quit. Run away like a loser you are! Aizawl snapped back.

"I can't…I have no money". Hobin murmured in a sad voice.

[WARNING: THE ELECTRIC CHARGE IN THOSE POLES IS ENOUGH TO DESTORY ALL YOUR BONES IF STRUCK MORE THAN THREE TIMES. YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL].

"Can I avoid such a wild range of electricity? Hobin asked XL in a desperate voice.

[RUN LIKE THE COWARD YOU ARE]

"Did you just tell me to run or am I imagining things." Hobin snapped at XL, but got no response.

Hobin persisted in his efforts to capture XL's interest. Aizawl forced the poles through the broken cemented fall by squeezing them into it. A crackling blast of lightning was sent beneath the ceiling by its electricity connecting with bent rods that traveled across the entire roof. The lightning seared Hobin's body, prompting him to start screaming.

Hobin fell down after the first wave and struggling to get back on his feet. He groaned loudly and saw his own body smoking.

"What was that…How did you…? Hobin stuttered with an anxious voice.

"How did you get shocked when you were so far away? Easy! The floor which is standing is mildly cracked, exposing the rod beneath the concrete fall. I cracked them up in designated places, like where you stand right now. All I need is one poof and you're a fired stock fish." Aizawl said and laughed like a maniac.

"Y-You'd go that far. Just to win."

"Yes. This system forces us to be brutal, and to do anything to win. Anything as crazy as this. And besides, I don't see anyone complaining. Not me…the dumbass teacher or even the new principal at the top.

He let out another visible surge of lightning that sent a massive shockwave to Hobin. Because he was too weak to move from the cracked spot, he got shocked once more. Hobin screamed out in pain and crumbled like ash to his knees. He saw his body smoking and felt his bones giving up. He battled to get air into his lungs and to get his sight from blurring. He felt his head constantly letting out a sharp piercing sound that echoed throughout his ears.

[WARNING! IF YOU TAKE ANOTHER HIT YOU WOULD BE COMPLETELY DOWN AND OUT.

 RECOVERY TIME NOT ESTABLISHED.

YOUR BONES ARE ALREADY GETTJNG WORN OUT. THOUGH THE CHARGES HAVE LITTLE EFEECTS BASED ON THE CURRENT BUT REGARDLESS, AN ESCAPE PLAN SHOULD BE FORMED TO PREVENT FURTHER CALAMITIES.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO? RUN OR GROVEL?]

Hobin let out a weak moan and pulled his face up at Aizawl. Anger and desperation in his eyes. He rallied up what was left in his voice;

"I want to win". He said like a mad dog wishing to be set free.

[HOW WOULD YOU DO THAT? YOU BARELY HAVE ENOUGH STRENGTH IN YOU TO WIN].

"Who said I needed strength". Hobin snapped.

[WOW! LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE HAS LEARNT A THINK OR TWO FROM ME].

"So…Hobin. Captain of the E rank. A loser in all ramifications. Grovel or…".

"Who says I am done fighting? Hobin snapped in and immediately threw both shoes at Aizawl, except he didn't aim for him. It bounced off the teaser pole and fell to the ground. Aizawl looked at the weak Hobin and laughed.

"Oh…that's all you could do. Throw those dirty shoes at me. How pathetic". He sneered and gave Hobin a disgusted look. "Now then to finish you". He jammed the poles on the ground, but got nothing. No shock wave or even a single current.

"Huh? What happened? Aizawl asked himself and immediately realized that Hobin's idea was to throw the shoes at the poles's regulator and slightly prevent it from generating any current. "You…". Aizawl sneered in realization.

As he finally looked up after getting it charged up. Hobin was already on his feet and gunning for him. Hobin was slow and had more of a lazy zombie run than that of a human run. He ran zigzag, making it hard for Aizawl to predict. Also, his sudden zombie run looked scary and made Aizawl slow to react.

Hobin buried his fist into his chin. Aizawl bounced against the ground like a ball and crashed on the wall. From the way he landed, one pole went off his left hand and fell on the floor, close to the staggering Hobin.

"I'm bleeding". Aizawl muttered to himself as he wiped his nose clean. "You broke my damn nose. I would break your entire bones! Aizawl snapped and run at Hobin.

Because Hobin's bones were already weak from the current shock, he slipped and threw an awful backflip. His legs greased the already broken nose of Aizawl. But because it was only a grease, Aizawl still held an advantage.

"That was impressive. I would catch you on the landing. There's no way in hell you can dodge that! Aizawl thought to himself as he fell back. He used his right foot to form a solid regain from his slipping state and bounced forward with a quick wave of the electric current from the teaser pole on his right.

Again, Hobin's bones were weak and caused the earlier accident of him slipping and throwing an awful backflip. So a landing from midair, with his two weak feet, was just impossible. Immediately, he touched the ground. He lost his football and did a remarkable yet unexpected split that not only wowed him himself but the streaming viewers.

It surprised Aizawl that Hobin dodged his attack. XL, who chimed in, immediately recognized Hobin's sudden spilt.

[NEW SKILL gained: FLEXIBILITY.

DUE TO THE WAVES OF CURRENT FROM THE ELECTRIC CHARGE. YOUR BONES WERE WEAKEN TO A FAULT THAT IT COULD EASILY MANIPULATED TO YOUR DESIRES. THUS GIVING BIRTH TO FLEXIBILITY].

Hobin immediately acted on the quick turn of events. Getting up quickly and charging at the surprised Aizawl. He grabbed his right hand, where the pole was in and swing him, from left to right. Making him dizzy, before forcing a flip onto the floor. Aizawl let out a quick gag. Aizwal's eyes opened to Hobin, about to knock his throat.

"No! Wait…I give up. You win. You win…". Aizawl snapped out in a desperate voice. Both were panting at this point. Hobin immediately stepped away from him and crashed on the floor next to him. Breathing heavily and feeling exhausted, Hobin let out a half-baked chuckle and looked at him.

"You're one hell of an opponent."

"You think so". Aizawl replied with a bit of excitement in his voice.

"Think? No! I know…". Hobin murmured and watched his vision blur away.
